The owner of DMC sidecars retired and Texas sidecars bought them out. He was the last builder in Wa as Liberty, my sidecar builder, up in Seattle also retired. That Jupiter/ Sputnik is an awfully light sidecar for the African Twin. It was designed for a light weight two stroke bike.
( Speaking of Yuasa batteries, my 06(new leftover in 07) lasted till 17 when I changed it. It was not bad, I was going on a long trip and just didn't trust it so I went to my dealer and bought a new one and it is still gong strong.. Great batteries, but I always declare the charging system is top notch to keep it that way...
My '85 Honda 500 came fitted with a GP battery 🤔 I always replaced it with a Yuasa.... To be fair I didn't look after it very well as I didn't know any better.... The GP replacement seems to last longer, but seems to need to be 'topped up' with distilled water more regularly. 🤔 (I have a Uni-T multimeter that cost £10--£15 ) All resting / charging voltages appear to be what they should be....🤔 Do you take a multimeter on tour?🤔😲
