I love this... those distict hypersonic bells at 3:28 (I worked at an arcade that had a rare version of outrun 2, I used to love repairing and cleaning that machine)

Re-introducing the enhanced SOR1 style, which was used in my 2021 Violent Breathing and Last Soul remixes, as well as SOW4 favourite "Window Shopping". SOR1 'HD' is a Sega CD approach, featuring the usual base percussion, but also additional and upgraded sounds that exceed hardware limitations in an obvious way. SOR1 meets Redbook Audio, essentially.

Truthfully, I'd never played any Outrun games growing up. But you're pulled back the curtain on a great series and some incredibly good soundtracks! Amazing track as always!

Sorry but bit era Outrun was so PERFECT it inspired a musical sub-genre of Vaporwave/Synthwave.
I don't mean any disrespect to this re-make either except that I say in comparison its not good. Perhaps a Pixel art shader and some materials play might make it like the 3D effect they crudely but very successfully did with 2D and sprite scaling but would have if they could have if the tech existed at the time. A modern computer is like a Cray supercomputer from the era it was an arcade game in. A re-create for the nostalgia would need to have the sprite aesthetic, the feel and play (this one seems to do that part well) and then transcend it say with more adaptive music and a trip to the "Video Zone" where it's grids and vectors or some thing to honor the dreams of the past. Just one man's opinion, again no disrespect.
You've grossly missed the point. This is a remix. The cover design is about highlighting the SOR1 sound in a new form. The background palm trees are literally from the OutRun 20th Anniversary, so it's incredibly ignorant to criticise the lack of grid or it "not being Synthwave enough". Splash Wave was the closest OutRun ever came to Synthwave. The original music draws inspiration from different styles and culture, Magical Sound Shower and Passing Breeze being more Latin in nature. Your criticisms stem from Kavinsky naming his album OutRun. There was no Synthwave takeover before that.
