- Should you consider replacing your stock E1B tailcap with the Surefire Z68 replacement tailcap? Why do you see the Z68 tailcap recommended for the E1B Backup so frequently on CPF? Watch this video for more info on this super sweet combo.
@2000xlt Yeah, I love this little thing. I'm well satisfied every time I get to use it. I like clipping it to a baseball cap visor if I need more light to check the BBQ at night, or if I'm working under the hood of my car, etc. Mine is the old 80 lumens version. Thanks for watching!
I'm awaiting the post man for my new E1B, my old one grew legs :( I like the idea of the Z68 tail cap so that I can use my light as a candle in the right circumstance and so that it's less likely that I'll be burning up batteries when my light is in my pocket. I also like the glow in the dark o ring, I may get some just to see how they pan out since they're so inexpensive. Thanks for sharing.
It is a great light! I have the older model,,,still great..nice vid by the way
@deParisDan The glow in the dark (GITD) o-rings are from DealExtreme (DX). $2.50 for 20 of 'em including shipping. Do a search for item no. 3458. The ones you'll need are the 24mm ones. Congrats on the flashlight -- it's a good one!
It's mostly there for aesthetic purposes; it has no sealing/waterproofing function. There's a groove cut into the body of the flashlight right there, and it sort of looked empty to me. You can charge up the O-ring to make it glow for a little while, but the afterglow is short, and besides you would need another flashlight to charge it with. :-/
What does the glow ring do actually?
You can actually cut and paste glow in the dark tapes there! I actually paste glow-in-the-dark tape on my E1B so that I can find it in the dark.
Great review! I have the same set up...but where did you get the glow in the dark O-Ring?
The clip is a piece of spring steel which appears to be press fit into a slot at the end of the battery tube. I'll bet if you remove the head, you could use a punch to tap the clip out by driving it towards the front.
This light for people who watch this video is 80 lumens on high OTF and for the NEWER model 110 on high,,,,this light exceeded my expectations,,,just because its small dont let it fool you,,,just get it
is the clip removable?
