I kind of disagree with the lack of AI dinos being a good thing. The huge map at most times feels very empty. Especially because people all hang out at one of two spots. Some small carnivores and herbivore that can attack or be hunted by players would make it a lot more alive and entertaining.
I just feel like it’ll be less threatening with npc Dino’s. Because whenever you se other players in the game you are on the edge of your seat not knowing what they are going to do. But npc are always predictable and it won’t be scary or intense at all

The AI from burrows already broadcast if they get too far away so if those little creatures are roaming around and can broadcast I think it would make it more natural than digging at a burrow 5 times
I agree with the fall damage aspect too. I mean realistically a T. rex would have weighed between 5,000 and 7,000 kilograms. That amount of weight falling at any hight would have be detrimental. As for the map, Idk I haven't bought it.
Literally like if ur in a fight and there’s more than three Dino’s nearby including u they finna be telaport in the entire time and u will 9 times out of ten end up dying because u can’t fucking hit them cause they kee telaport I h for you
I play on Xbox and really like it, once you level up few dinos it's fun. Leveling is quite slow especially when you don't know the map and don't have group so I recommend picking something fast (deino or latri) for a first one to learn the map etc. 8/10.
Is it glitchy on console?? Wanting to get it but was afraid. Also, what about the controls?? Clunky, easy to use?? I'm sure mouse and keyboard is better for the bindings. Didn't know if they had to cram everything onto the controller. Haven't been able to find videos talking about this sorry.

I haven’t played yet, but the lack of AI as prey seems like an oversight. There should definitely be herd animals, fish, birds, rodents, and mammals to eat. For every player spawning as an herbivore there should be some AI members of their herd to protect/interact with as a default. Most players will want to be carnivores and being the only herbivore of your kind seems very disadvantageous.
There already are fishes in every lakes and pounds and also a small variety of animal that you can unburrow of there nests to hunt them. But i do agree that they need to add more tho
Ahh but you see in real life the dinosaurs competed for food so the chances of finding something small back then is rare . Everything was big besides bugs
For me it was the profile system that won me over. In the Isle I log off with my adult creature and never see it again, in PoT I can join any official server and my creatures will be there.
In my honest opinion the game is a 6/10. It's decent for what it is, however, I'll start with the positives. The dinosaur models and animations are pretty good for the most part. Definitely have been good. Some of the attacks (and/or abilities) are also pretty realistic as well. The graphics are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset. Plus the skins are pretty appealing. Community servers are also a good touch to the game. Now for the negatives. The entire vibe of Path of Titans doesn't feel like a dinosaur game, but instead 100% a battle arena. Panjura is litterally the worst d Questing is not only odd for a dinosaur to do, but can also be annoying to have to complete to grow your dinosaur on official servers despite the game trying something new. Panjura is a painful experience. It may be going for a more North America esk map with tons of rocky structures, but in execution, it's annoying as hell to have to go through so many rocky structures. It's over the top and just isn't appealing. Plus the coloration of the map just looks disgusting, pale, and bland. The combat system is also un-enjoyable at times. It would be cool to land a bite on your prey and have it slowly, or swiftly suffocate to death. Another neat addition absent from the game is to carry the corpses of dinosaurs either smaller than you, or similar size so you can find a decent location to feast on your corpse secretly instead if having to eat your carcass on the spot injured after a battle and having to be attacked. Does the game have potential to become much better? Yes. It not only introduces underatted an unrecognizable dinosaurs into the spotlight, but does them justice in their own way. Path of Titans will succeed eventually, we just have to be patient.
@@Ianpeftfor the killing part is not true. animals do not randomly attack each other on sight, 90% of the time they just avoid each other because it’s more safe and it will increase their chance of survival
The fall damage is realistic. A rex couldn't run without breaking its legs so that cliff would've probably kill or handicap him Edit: couldn't run like humans, with both feet in the air
I understand the fall damage, imagine a rex with like 7 meters jumping of a cliff with that amount of weight can by deadly. In the game things dont look big but they made a game trying to by realistic.
About the npc Dino’s I can understand the feeling of seeing a Dino and knowing it’s another player but they could use some Dino’s that aren’t playable and make them ai Dino’s so the carnivores don’t have to dig up a den or scavenge food if they don’t want to kill another player plus I feel like it’d feel better to hunt a wondering since Dino then just diging a hole and like I said they could make them Dino’s that aren’t playable so you’ll know if it’s a ai or another player depending on the dino
dinosaurs are a pretty specific kind of animal too. of course pterosaurs aren't dinosaurs but they're visibly unique. i think if all NPCs were non-reptilian non-avian clearly not dinos, itd be really nice to have lots and lots of fauna.
I hope there's NPC herd herbivores with migration just for Theropods hunts event achievements. And scavenging too. And Sauropods herd like boss battle like where Theropods teams up to take it down and have a big buffet
In regards to fall damage, it varies by dinosaur, and mainly determined by size and the (of course) height you fall from. If you play something small like a deinonychus, most of the time a fall is barely an inconvenience, with most higher drops barely taking any health away unless you're super high up. Play something like a full grown rex, and of course you're gonna take heavy damage. I realize it's a game and there should be a fine balance when adding realistic elements to gameplay, but you have to realize that you're playing as animals that weigh several tons, most of which who can't even jump anymore after they reach a certain growth stage. Even if it looks like a mere five foot drop, that's still a lot of weight coming down for something as big as a house. It'd be more silly not to expect any critical damage. You wouldn't believe an elephant can take a spill without breaking something, so why should a trex? A simple tip to remember in this game: the higher that a dino can jump, the more resistant it is to fall damage.
You would have to consider that dinosaurs are huge and heavy so falling will really hurt, but it's not as annoying as The Isle where taking any SORT of fall damage ALWAYS breaks your leg to 20 damage and it takes up to 10~16+ minutes to heal it, less of you sit down, I am guessing the heavier the dino the more damage it takes on fall damage just to balance the dino and give you the feel of actually having the dangers of the environment. I wish there was a tumbling system instead of falling in dinosaur games, so if you tumble perfectly or correctly off a cliff you take reduced damage but if you fail you take the full amount of damage
I absolutely HATEEEEEE the difficulty of getting into home caves. WHYYY do I have to walk around a huge ass mountain 15 times to find a TINY stone with a symbol on a very unmarked path. I've died 3 times because I had the home cave debuff, where you can't run, because I couldnt find the entrance... and someone runs up and kills me just because they can. Then, if you get bit, you can't run into the cave! They trap you out of your safe zone! It's like they punish you for trying to use them. Like, if they wanted to protect home caves they should remove your attack abilities. I hate the home cave as they have it.
Not to mention they've already hit their goals on crowdfunding basically....theres aquatic dinosaurs planned atleast 2 or 3 and atleast 2 pterasaurs are going to be joining as well...also nesting and new map is underway as well....we have tons kf stuff to look forward to that's already planned I can't wait to see the current updates after that....and remember there's really only the isle that it competes w right now so it has almost no competition in its genre and isle isn't on console so it will stay close to the isle I'm sure in updates dinos environments, and the isle is a diff experience so they don't really compete at all w each other....GET IT!
Its 4 aquatics and 3 flyers. The aquatics are leedsichthys (whale fish), tylosaurus (poor man's mosasaurus), eurhinosaurus (sword fish dolphin), and kaiwhekea (just a plesiosaur). The flyers are Hatzegopteryx (slightly shorter quetz), thalassodromeus (pteranodon but with a fin and jot a crest), and microraptor (needs no explanation), overall a very good non land roster, and that roster is practically tripled because of species
I don't play this (maybe one day) but that fall damage I can reluctantly approve of based on physics. You're a 12K lb animal, falling 50 ft down - Trex was about 40 ft tall and ,no, you can't almost see see over the ridge, its still much above your actual height. We're talking 132,000 newtons of force on those feet and knees. The T-Rex is lucky it didn't shatter both tibias and fibulas on that impact

And then the part about AI dinos I tend to disagree with. I see your point about being on the edge of your seat because you never know if they are friendly or not...but that really only matters depending on what creature you are playing as to begin with. With some AI's mixed in it would offer some more feeding opportunities and wouldn't subtract from the player count, so you would only be doubling the amount of interactions you currently have. Which I think could be good for the game. You would still have all of the pvp aspect, except more feeding available? Super simple. But good review overall, just a few criticisms I wanted to point out. Keep PoT vids coming, they're great and I click your channel just to watch them alone.
I've been playing it for a month straight since I got it and it's not even finished but I paid for it no questions asked lol it's a dinosaur survival game that's fun solo or with friends
I have been play Path of Titans for roughly a month and I absolutely LOVE it! Only issues I have had is combat lag, and those KOS players. Being alone vs playing with friends/group both have their pros and cons.
i wanted to play this game because of the duck dino but i actually like it i was stalked by a rex and a allo as a juvi 2 different times and it was scary they were like ninjas well hidden. but i like that the herbivores get love
Theres nothing to do apart from forage for crap to lvl up which takes ages.Great game concept but clearly focused on making money from adding dinos instead of adding core gameplay mechanics that the game badly needs to make it interesting. how they think collecting flowers or nuts to lvl up is a fun gameplay dynamic god knows.walk up to somthing press a button to collect and get xp mindblowing! its a shame coz this game has so much potential but theres just no real actual gameplay dynamic to keep you playing,plus way to much grief and toxic players.Hopefully they really add some depth to the gameplay and this game could become somthing fantastic
And you know another thing what is with dying and half your progress and growth is just gone. That's something I wish they would tweak and fix for a future update. Like a save game, save data type of a thing so if you die you don't have to go through all that trouble of getting back up to where you were just because you died from hunger fall damage or thirst
Just some things I thought I'd talk about from the video, speaking as someone who's played PoT for a loooong time I think lack of AI dinosaurs is a bad thing, it makes the base map, Panjura, waaaay more boring, on modded maps its not as much of an issue, because their areas are seemingly designed to encourage player interaction, which, Panjura, is not, I don't remember if they've taken out the feature that makes you spawn at less populated areas or not, but that was a thing at one point, and it makes it so seeing people is somewhat rare, and in my opinion makes the game boring I can get where the KOSer hate comes from because I am a KOSer, I kill basically everything I see, however one thing I detest whilst being a KOSer is mixed packing and overpacking, specifically herbivores and carnivores teaming, and people teaming with one another whilst having no space left in their packs, which is problematic, which was something I have to assume you've not encountered much of yet because you didn't mention it in your video Another thing I think thats somewhat overlooked for PoT is the lack of massive set-back for dying, if I remember correctly you lose 25% (or 15% or 33% or something, dont remember it exactly) of your Marks when you die, and only lose around a bar and a half or so of growth when you're fully grown, compared to other games like the Isle and BoB which massively punish you even if you've spent hours on a dinosaur The fall damage is, in my opinion, insane in a good way, if you think about you taking a decent fall in real life relative to your height and weight, it could be somewhat damaging to you, now amplify that to something that is absolutely giant compared to you, obviously its going to take significantly more damage, I also think that precise movement is something you should specifically learn better to try avoid fall damage, not sure how to do it on controller, however it is something thats super useful for combat and learning to travel the terrain, I personally have no issues with fall damage, and nor do my friends, its also size dependant, that fall you took as Rex would be way less significant as say an Metri, Cera, or Conca They're adding new quest types at some point in the future, I think they just need ideas that aren't specifically fetch quests, I just dont think anyone knows when tbh The new Map Gondwa will probably encourage more player interaction and what not once its added, hope we get to see your opinions on that when its added from testing TLDR: ajisdfdhbaidha sud gah sdau ydsha bfsuiyid ji
No its not worth it. The people who play it are toxic and boring. No one plays anything but the top two heavy hitters which are t Rex's and the modded dino carc. The herbs are weak af. Alot of dinos need buffs like the stego, spino and so on. Any game is fun with friends but this game is not because you run out of things to do. The game is great because you get to be a Dinosaur. Unfortunately people will act like killing you makes them think they have skills, playing as a dino doesn't require skill take a chill pill LOL. Honestly the things people say in global chat is ridiculous. It's sad overall it wasn't at all I was expecting. There isn't much to it other than collecting nuts off the ground to unlock abilities and skins, drinking water, herbs eating bushes and carnis fighting other dinos to eat there meat. All there missing is the taking a shit part of wait they didn't when they made this game. I'd like my money back!
KOS players are a mixed bunch for me. Like yeah, they could be role playing, territorial, dinosaur probably did fight for territory just like modern day animals... But at the same time they don't have to KILL you, they could've just let you off with a warning but no, the majority of people go all out and murder you. 😂 I play as adult allo, most of the time I'm friendly and I'll try to show that... But that doesn't make a difference for some people, they'll attack and they wont stop until your dead. I make sure to AVOID sll these days because of the amount of toxicity that goes down over there.
This game is a whole lot more fun to watch than to play, just like the Isle. I really wanted to enjoy this but after a couple hours of desperately trying to enjoy the awful questing system I'm just already burnt out
Well game wise fall damage is annoying but from a realistic standpoint some dinosaurs could literally just trip and fall and die from it Kos ppl are rlly annoying (I don’t own the game but I experienced it in the isle) If no NPC how do carnivores eat when there’s no one around?
100% there are some bugs here and there but the game itself is pretty well made just needs some updates on the Xbox/PlayStation stuff but other than that the game is really good, if you don’t feel like collecting acorns in order to grow just join a community server with Passive Growth. But it’s still not better than The Isle.
Thinking about the NPC AI not being there it is a cool thought that you are always running into other players. Playing mostly solo I do get bored at times, the quests really do need an upgrade. The combat is pretty cool. I think some dinos are way better than others or some require you to group, so the survival aspect with a variety of dinos goes out the window. The lack of quality quests makes this a grind and pvp game. If you are not pvping, there is an option for Singleplayer Adventure mode, it probably wasn't out at the time of this video idk, I haven't really tried it either. It is still "Early Access" but we know how that goes, maybe they will improve, as of today they just introduced another flying dino. It would be nice to see some improvement in the world and environment, quests etc, but overall it gets boring unless you are grouping and pvping. There isn't much else to do.
Good review, and maybe I can offer a different perspective on things you don't like, so they don't take away from the enjoyment as much as they might. Initially I started hating the questing in this game, now to me quests are just minor delays as I'm traversing the map looking for action, b/c I'm always roaming anyways. Fall damage is realistic. What seems like a small fall is actually big. You walked off a cliff that was only as tall as you are... but you're a Rex. You're 20 feet tall. Coming down is also about 7 TONS of weight. Falling and terrain mishaps is estimated to have been the primary cause of injury and death of real dinosaurs. KOS is far less an issue on community servers, specifically ones with rules and discord communities. Can't hunt at caves or teleport locations. And if you are killed because someone breaks the rules, most semi-realism servers will replace your dinosaur (at growth) when you report it. Lag/rubberbanding in combat. Official servers host up to 200 players. The more players there are on the server, the worse the lag and rubberbanding will be. Community servers have less players (100 max) with many servers 75-60-50 and even less. 100 slot community servers do still have a little lag, but it's usually manageable. Second... fight in spurts. If you're chasing constantly, your target will rubberband more and more. Learn to engage and disengage, hit-run-repeat. Utilize your precise movement key to turn more in place and not only do you lag less, you'll do better in fights.
I was on the edge about getting this but after reading this I really think I’ll enjoy it and they cant go anywhere but up, i dont think the things people dislike can get worse, if the people creating this game really want this game to thrive(which it sounds and looks like they want the game to be successful)(I believe it can) they will listen to their fanbase and i think they will, i have high hopes for this and i believe they will deliver
@@dylanb9963 Of all the dinosaur survival simulators available, I enjoy Path of Titans the most. Isle was great until they broke it and moved on to Evrima without fixing the legacy version. Evrima is really still in Alpha phase and horribly unbalanced and not what I would call a game, more of a testing ground for a game to come. Personally I look at what a developer has already done, which gives a good idea about what they're planning and where the game is most likely headed. The Isle for example: What I know the devs have done is break a game that was working, not fix their map which was about 60-70% unplayable due to resources (food) not being added, and then they abandon it to focus all their time and attention on the next project. Further development of the legacy Isle was unnecessary... but they could have at least fixed the lighting and shadows for the community who was (and is) still playing it. This to me makes the developers unreliable and their projects untrustworthy. Path of Titans on the otherhand have so far been very attentive to their community, produced a very good game thus far, and have planned to only add more content, not change direction. If you do buy it and decide to play, I am an admin for a great community server called "Life finds a way". A semi-realism server with full discord under the same name. Feel free to join us if you want a great community to play with. We also have Isle and Beasts of Bermuda servers.
I love this game. The lack of easy identification and communication in game and human nature combine make for a very real experience in vanilla game. It’s scary hearing footsteps. Growth is slow and easily lost if you encounter a hungry Dino lol. It’s crazy fun and heart pounding at times. It’s can absolutely use some updates and improvements but I always feel like I’m really a Dino trying to survive. I love it when people try and shame me for killing baby Dino’s lol 🤷♂️ I’m hungry and this is the wild!
Right now in the games current state, it’s worth in in my opinion if all you do is game in your spare time. Unfortunately pachys are wack baby killers and you will likely get set back days if not longer by them killing you if you aren’t extremely careful. Other thing is that no passive growth, and quests being hard to come by, make it difficult for casual gamers to level. You literally have to dedicate hours of play at a time and cannot very easily be relevant without doing so, unless you go struthi and just run away from everything and run around the entire map looking for quests.

It isn't worth your money. If you say one thing wrong to someone in the official server chats, they can get you Publisher Banned without you getting a warning first and it takes a while to appeal the bans. Its not worth losing $30 USD (same price for the switch too) all because some kid in the game took offense to you defending yourself from toxicity in the chat and report you for it. Worst part is you will likely not get unbanned or get your money back.
I *really* wanted to like this game, but after playing for about an hour i had to call it quits. It's actually just: Fetch Quest - The Game. Singleplayer is totally barren with nothing to do or interact with. Honestly don't understand why it's even a feature. MP is generally KOS, Cave Camping and general griefing, which i can forgive. There is nothing else at all for people to do. It's also plagued with lag and rubberbanding that makes pvp a chore. There are minimal quests in the game from my understanding - run across map to "X" and collect 25 "X" dotted around an area...and thats it, thats your game. Oh, and hunt "X" species, which i never bothered with - barely saw another player and when i did they just killed me on sight. It also makes no sense at all why you're collecting things. Why does a carnivore need to collect 25 acorns followed by 25 mushrooms? Why? Because the quest system is soulless and the most basic "Go here and click on these things", and of course there is a currency and shop to buy useless trinkets and skins for your base when you try desperately just to *some* kind of gameplay. Saying "its good with friends!“ is also pointless. Anything is good with friends, friends don't make a bad game good. 2/10. Only thing the game gets right is the premise and the animations.
Also the food I don't like about this game because you know you're a herbivore. There's food everywhere, but when you're a carnivore you running low on food. You're almost dead because of it and. They're is still no herbivores or carcasses you can feast off of for miles
Well falldamage at 8:07, you realize T rex is between 5000-7000kg ? and you drop off of 8 meter ledge or possibly more? yes. it would absolutely kill the dino on impact or shortly after i would say.
30 bucks,half of other games, in beta and still better than most games released out right now...its only gonna get better the more people we get in the community....yeah there's some lag but I mostly contribute it to the cross play, you got ppl on their phones playing w console and pc they need to have their own set server for mobile, mobile in my opinion messes up the experience....but the game plays better than a state of decay 2 that's been out for what a decade now? 😉 🤣 for it being beta I have no problems w the game whatsoever well worth my 30 bucks, I've spent $60+ on games that aren't as finished as this beta is!
Bummer if it was filled with a living ecosystem similar to monster hunter this would be a amazing game hopefully they will make changes in new updates like no mans sky this game has a lot of potential

its cool to see someone enjoying the game. I cant seem to enjoy it, the lag you talked about in combat is still very much a problem, & combat over all is very distastefully bad. but the models mostly look cool. Still regret being a backer though.
Completely disagree about AI Dino’s. If you want a game with realism and real fear and intimidation and intensity from crossing paths with a player 10x your size, play the Isle. Much more intimidating than this. When I read the description for this game it said it’s an mmo dinosaur survival game with quests and combat focus. If all the players are in one or two spots, that completely removes the purpose of having a big map. You need to give players incentive to actually go across the Map and do things. AI is one way to do this
I don't get how people are having fun in this game, I been playing for like 16-17 hours just got out of jeuvy stage it's soooooo boring, the quest system sucks and is boring as hell, I spend like 20 minutes sprinting round a biome just to find the resource for the quest, sometimes I'll find like 19/25 and then im running around another 10 minutes just to find 6 more because they aren't around anywhere I run too, I shouldn't have to play for 50 hours to reach adult for the game to finally be fun, theres like no people anywhere, unless you go to a specific spot on the maps so barely any interaction and getting kossed when you finally see someone setting you back is just downright frustrating, I'm bored out of my mind trying to just get to a point I can stop growing and actually fight back against these dinos because as a jeuvy im getting slaughtered by full grown allos or other herbivores much bigger than me, this game has terrible game design it truly does, if a game takes 50 hours to finally start being fun finally, that's a trash game, I shouldn't have a monotonous chore to finally start having fun it should be fun from the get go and this aint it

Originally I was giving up on waiting for the ps4 update for primal cause I switched to path of titans but Jesus christ POT is intolerable. I spent 2 weeks on this game (POT) and when I finally get to adolescent I starve to death cause there's no sniff function Also I hate how often the server resets! The only way I can survive is as a juvenile because at least then they tell me where the food actually is in this 4000 mile wide map of pure emptiness. But also as a juvenile if I don't build speed I get recked by literally everything or farmed out of my own base I love POT for its immersion BUT it chooses the weirdest hills to die on. Immersive food scavenging -- but somehow choose to not add the one thing dinosaurs used to detect it in the first place?? Random flower hunting for growth -- but if you step outside of the area it just dosent count anymore? Incentive for making packs via growth increase -- but if the leader leaves the area no one gets the exp for the quest?? For every good decision they make it feels like they intentionally do a 34 degree tilt on it that just makes you go like " Weird choice but maybe I can bare it?? " But dying after I finally got to adolescent because I roamed for 30 minutes without seeing a single source of food was the last straw for me. This is one of the only games that makes me want to WATCH TH-cam while playing. I have to find OTHER STUFF TO DO while playing this, or else I'll just feel like a zombie bored out of my mind from 3 hours of senseless gameplay with no real meaning. I can't tell where the action is because they randomly decided to strip dinosaurs of their *one key method of finding food and other dinosaurs* and they compensated the absolute boredom that it is to wander the map almost completely blind -- by adding quests like " go to this random spot and pick up 200 flowers! "
Slow to get around the map not good for single player has so much capacity to be just a little better in my opinion very boring if you are playing alone may be better if multiplayer npc would have helped

TI Evrima is unplayable for me because even on the lowest graphics I lag horribly but I can play legacy perfectly fine without having to alter graphics, should I buy Path of Titans or would I probably lag the same?
I play Path of Titans on ultra settings and I don’t lag that much! But if you’re playing on a packed server with a lot of Dino’s around it can get quite laggy/rubberbanding but you can always lower the settings if that happens
You have a problem with the repetitiveness of the quests, well I have a problem with quests themselves! What the fuck kind of dinosaur game makes you collect branches and weed for a quest!?!?!?

I promise you from the bottom of my heart it would be wayyyyyy better to buy the game later. The game hasn’t changed much at all for its 3 years in development, and although it is an early access demo that doesn’t excuse the fact that there is literally nothing to do! There are other games with similar sized dev teams + similar levels of experience that Atleast have the core mechanics in! Pot has none of that, the only game changing mechanics/update this game has received was the growth update which is hated by many within the community. I hate to say it because I love this game and its devs but its true, this game is lack luster at best and isnt worth 30 bucks what so ever. I’d highly encourage everyone who plans on buying this game to Atleast wait until we get more core mechanics. However if you do still plan on buying the game Id highly recommend skipping the toxic mess that is the matchmaking official servers, and joining a community server. Community servers growth and player-base are alot more tame and friendly towards new players. Servers Id recommend are WWD: hardcore realism server with an amazing friendly community Veloccis Realm: minimal rules community server with friendly player interaction ( for the most part) Isla Nycta: Semi realism server with great player interaction. Primordial tyrants: modded community server with minimal rules Or just any other community server you can find and enjoy with friends!

I kind of disagree with the lack of AI dinos being a good thing. The huge map at most times feels very empty. Especially because people all hang out at one of two spots. Some small carnivores and herbivore that can attack or be hunted by players would make it a lot more alive and entertaining.
I just feel like it’ll be less threatening with npc Dino’s. Because whenever you se other players in the game you are on the edge of your seat not knowing what they are going to do. But npc are always predictable and it won’t be scary or intense at all

The AI from burrows already broadcast if they get too far away so if those little creatures are roaming around and can broadcast I think it would make it more natural than digging at a burrow 5 times

I agree with the fall damage aspect too. I mean realistically a T. rex would have weighed between 5,000 and 7,000 kilograms. That amount of weight falling at any hight would have be detrimental. As for the map, Idk I haven't bought it.

Especially when you’re in a modded server with those TINY Dino’s, they are extra laggy. Even when nobody is around they lag sometimes.
I’m on PS5 and experience no lag at all, even on modded servers.

I play on Xbox and really like it, once you level up few dinos it's fun. Leveling is quite slow especially when you don't know the map and don't have group so I recommend picking something fast (deino or latri) for a first one to learn the map etc. 8/10.
Is it glitchy on console?? Wanting to get it but was afraid. Also, what about the controls?? Clunky, easy to use?? I'm sure mouse and keyboard is better for the bindings. Didn't know if they had to cram everything onto the controller. Haven't been able to find videos talking about this sorry.

I haven’t played yet, but the lack of AI as prey seems like an oversight. There should definitely be herd animals, fish, birds, rodents, and mammals to eat. For every player spawning as an herbivore there should be some AI members of their herd to protect/interact with as a default. Most players will want to be carnivores and being the only herbivore of your kind seems very disadvantageous.
There already are fishes in every lakes and pounds and also a small variety of animal that you can unburrow of there nests to hunt them. But i do agree that they need to add more tho
Ahh but you see in real life the dinosaurs competed for food so the chances of finding something small back then is rare . Everything was big besides bugs
For me it was the profile system that won me over. In the Isle I log off with my adult creature and never see it again, in PoT I can join any official server and my creatures will be there.
In my honest opinion the game is a 6/10.
It's decent for what it is, however, I'll start with the positives.
The dinosaur models and animations are pretty good for the most part. Definitely have been good.
Some of the attacks (and/or abilities) are also pretty realistic as well.
The graphics are absolutely stunning, especially at sunset.
Plus the skins are pretty appealing.
Community servers are also a good touch to the game.
Now for the negatives.
The entire vibe of Path of Titans doesn't feel like a dinosaur game, but instead 100% a battle arena.

Questing is not only odd for a dinosaur to do, but can also be annoying to have to complete to grow your dinosaur on official servers despite the game trying something new.
Panjura is a painful experience. It may be going for a more North America esk map with tons of rocky structures, but in execution, it's annoying as hell to have to go through so many rocky structures. It's over the top and just isn't appealing. Plus the coloration of the map just looks disgusting, pale, and bland.
The combat system is also un-enjoyable at times. It would be cool to land a bite on your prey and have it slowly, or swiftly suffocate to death. Another neat addition absent from the game is to carry the corpses of dinosaurs either smaller than you, or similar size so you can find a decent location to feast on your corpse secretly instead if having to eat your carcass on the spot injured after a battle and having to be attacked.
Does the game have potential to become much better? Yes. It not only introduces underatted an unrecognizable dinosaurs into the spotlight, but does them justice in their own way.
Path of Titans will succeed eventually, we just have to be patient.

About the npc Dino’s I can understand the feeling of seeing a Dino and knowing it’s another player but they could use some Dino’s that aren’t playable and make them ai Dino’s so the carnivores don’t have to dig up a den or scavenge food if they don’t want to kill another player plus I feel like it’d feel better to hunt a wondering since Dino then just diging a hole and like I said they could make them Dino’s that aren’t playable so you’ll know if it’s a ai or another player depending on the dino
dinosaurs are a pretty specific kind of animal too. of course pterosaurs aren't dinosaurs but they're visibly unique. i think if all NPCs were non-reptilian non-avian clearly not dinos, itd be really nice to have lots and lots of fauna.
I hope there's NPC herd herbivores with migration just for Theropods hunts event achievements. And scavenging too.
And Sauropods herd like boss battle like where Theropods teams up to take it down and have a big buffet
In regards to fall damage, it varies by dinosaur, and mainly determined by size and the (of course) height you fall from.
If you play something small like a deinonychus, most of the time a fall is barely an inconvenience, with most higher drops barely taking any health away unless you're super high up.
Play something like a full grown rex, and of course you're gonna take heavy damage. I realize it's a game and there should be a fine balance when adding realistic elements to gameplay, but you have to realize that you're playing as animals that weigh several tons, most of which who can't even jump anymore after they reach a certain growth stage.
Even if it looks like a mere five foot drop, that's still a lot of weight coming down for something as big as a house. It'd be more silly not to expect any critical damage. You wouldn't believe an elephant can take a spill without breaking something, so why should a trex?
A simple tip to remember in this game: the higher that a dino can jump, the more resistant it is to fall damage.
This game DESPERATELY needs AI dinos. Cant understand the arguement against it at all.
You would have to consider that dinosaurs are huge and heavy so falling will really hurt, but it's not as annoying as The Isle where taking any SORT of fall damage ALWAYS breaks your leg to 20 damage and it takes up to 10~16+ minutes to heal it, less of you sit down, I am guessing the heavier the dino the more damage it takes on fall damage just to balance the dino and give you the feel of actually having the dangers of the environment. I wish there was a tumbling system instead of falling in dinosaur games, so if you tumble perfectly or correctly off a cliff you take reduced damage but if you fail you take the full amount of damage
Why not have ai for single player though? Multiplayer is understandable, but getting killed immediately after exiting a cave really takes me out of it

I absolutely HATEEEEEE the difficulty of getting into home caves. WHYYY do I have to walk around a huge ass mountain 15 times to find a TINY stone with a symbol on a very unmarked path. I've died 3 times because I had the home cave debuff, where you can't run, because I couldnt find the entrance... and someone runs up and kills me just because they can. Then, if you get bit, you can't run into the cave! They trap you out of your safe zone! It's like they punish you for trying to use them.
Like, if they wanted to protect home caves they should remove your attack abilities. I hate the home cave as they have it.
Not to mention they've already hit their goals on crowdfunding basically....theres aquatic dinosaurs planned atleast 2 or 3 and atleast 2 pterasaurs are going to be joining as well...also nesting and new map is underway as well....we have tons kf stuff to look forward to that's already planned I can't wait to see the current updates after that....and remember there's really only the isle that it competes w right now so it has almost no competition in its genre and isle isn't on console so it will stay close to the isle I'm sure in updates dinos environments, and the isle is a diff experience so they don't really compete at all w each other....GET IT!
Its 4 aquatics and 3 flyers. The aquatics are leedsichthys (whale fish), tylosaurus (poor man's mosasaurus), eurhinosaurus (sword fish dolphin), and kaiwhekea (just a plesiosaur). The flyers are Hatzegopteryx (slightly shorter quetz), thalassodromeus (pteranodon but with a fin and jot a crest), and microraptor (needs no explanation), overall a very good non land roster, and that roster is practically tripled because of species
I don't play this (maybe one day) but that fall damage I can reluctantly approve of based on physics. You're a 12K lb animal, falling 50 ft down - Trex was about 40 ft tall and ,no, you can't almost see see over the ridge, its still much above your actual height. We're talking 132,000 newtons of force on those feet and knees. The T-Rex is lucky it didn't shatter both tibias and fibulas on that impact
*Walks up to cliff that you're half as tall as, while being a giant lumbering dinosaur* - "I can almost see over the top of this, I hope they fix the fall dmg!"
And then the part about AI dinos I tend to disagree with. I see your point about being on the edge of your seat because you never know if they are friendly or not...but that really only matters depending on what creature you are playing as to begin with. With some AI's mixed in it would offer some more feeding opportunities and wouldn't subtract from the player count, so you would only be doubling the amount of interactions you currently have. Which I think could be good for the game. You would still have all of the pvp aspect, except more feeding available? Super simple.
But good review overall, just a few criticisms I wanted to point out. Keep PoT vids coming, they're great and I click your channel just to watch them alone.

I have been play Path of Titans for roughly a month and I absolutely LOVE it! Only issues I have had is combat lag, and those KOS players. Being alone vs playing with friends/group both have their pros and cons.

Theres nothing to do apart from forage for crap to lvl up which takes ages.Great game concept but clearly focused on making money from adding dinos instead of adding core gameplay mechanics that the game badly needs to make it interesting. how they think collecting flowers or nuts to lvl up is a fun gameplay dynamic god knows.walk up to somthing press a button to collect and get xp mindblowing! its a shame coz this game has so much potential but theres just no real actual gameplay dynamic to keep you playing,plus way to much grief and toxic players.Hopefully they really add some depth to the gameplay and this game could become somthing fantastic

And you know another thing what is with dying and half your progress and growth is just gone. That's something I wish they would tweak and fix for a future update. Just some things I thought I'd talk about from the video, speaking as someone who's played PoT for a loooong time
I think lack of AI dinosaurs is a bad thing, it makes the base map, Panjura, waaaay more boring, on modded maps its not as much of an issue, because their areas are seemingly designed to encourage player interaction, which, Panjura, is not, I don't remember if they've taken out the feature that makes you spawn at less populated areas or not, but that was a thing at one point, and it makes it so seeing people is somewhat rare, and in my opinion makes the game boring
I can get where the KOSer hate comes from because I am a KOSer, I kill basically everything I see, however one thing I detest whilst being a KOSer is mixed packing and overpacking, specifically herbivores and carnivores teaming, and people teaming with one another whilst having no space left in their packs, which is problematic, which was something I have to assume you've not encountered much of yet because you didn't mention it in your video
Another thing I think thats somewhat overlooked for PoT is the lack of massive set-back for dying, if I remember correctly you lose 25% (or 15% or 33% or something, dont remember it exactly) of your Marks when you die, and only lose around a bar and a half or so of growth when you're fully grown, compared to other games like the Isle and BoB which massively punish you even if you've spent hours on a dinosaur
The fall damage is, in my opinion, insane in a good way, if you think about you taking a decent fall in real life relative to your height and weight, it could be somewhat damaging to you, now amplify that to something that is absolutely giant compared to you, obviously its going to take significantly more damage, I also think that precise movement is something you should specifically learn better to try avoid fall damage, not sure how to do it on controller, however it is something thats super useful for combat and learning to travel the terrain, I personally have no issues with fall damage, and nor do my friends, its also size dependant, that fall you took as Rex would be way less significant as say an Metri, Cera, or Conca
They're adding new quest types at some point in the future, I think they just need ideas that aren't specifically fetch quests, I just dont think anyone knows when tbh
The new Map Gondwa will probably encourage more player interaction and what not once its added, hope we get to see your opinions on that when its added from testing

No its not worth it. The people who play it are toxic and boring. No one plays anything but the top two heavy hitters which are t Rex's and the modded dino carc. The herbs are weak af. Alot of dinos need buffs like the stego, spino and so on. Any game is fun with friends but this game is not because you run out of things to do. The game is great because you get to be a Dinosaur. Unfortunately people will act like killing you makes them think they have skills, playing as a dino doesn't require skill take a chill pill LOL. Honestly the things people say in global chat is ridiculous. It's sad overall it wasn't at all I was expecting. There isn't much to it other than collecting nuts off the ground to unlock abilities and skins, drinking water, herbs eating bushes and carnis fighting other dinos to eat there meat. All there missing is the taking a shit part of wait they didn't when they made this game. I'd like my money back!
KOS players are a mixed bunch for me. Like yeah, they could be role playing, territorial, dinosaur probably did fight for territory just like modern day animals... But at the same time they don't have to KILL you, they could've just let you off with a warning but no, the majority of people go all out and murder you. 😂 I play as adult allo, most of the time I'm friendly and I'll try to show that... But that doesn't make a difference for some people, they'll attack and they wont stop until your dead.
I make sure to AVOID sll these days because of the amount of toxicity that goes down over there.
With no real quests and no npc and no major incentive to level up except not dying to other player it just feels like dinosaurs walking simulator

100% there are some bugs here and there but the game itself is pretty well made just needs some updates on the Xbox/PlayStation stuff but other than that the game is really good, if you don’t feel like collecting acorns in order to grow just join a community server with Passive Growth. But it’s still not better than The Isle.
Thinking about the NPC AI not being there it is a cool thought that you are always running into other players. Playing mostly solo I do get bored at times, the quests really do need an upgrade. The combat is pretty cool. I think some dinos are way better than others or some require you to group, so the survival aspect with a variety of dinos goes out the window. The lack of quality quests makes this a grind and pvp game. If you are not pvping, there is an option for Singleplayer Adventure mode, it probably wasn't out at the time of this video idk, I haven't really tried it either. It is still "Early Access" but we know how that goes, maybe they will improve, as of today they just introduced another flying dino. It would be nice to see some improvement in the world and environment, quests etc, but overall it gets boring unless you are grouping and pvping. There isn't much else to do.
If this game ever goes onto Steam I'll give it a try. But until then I'll just continue to struggle on The Isle. Great review. Thx. 👍🙂
Good review, and maybe I can offer a different perspective on things you don't like, so they don't take away from the enjoyment as much as they might.
Initially I started hating the questing in this game, now to me quests are just minor delays as I'm traversing the map looking for action, b/c I'm always roaming anyways.
Fall damage is realistic. What seems like a small fall is actually big. You walked off a cliff that was only as tall as you are... but you're a Rex. You're 20 feet tall. Coming down is also about 7 TONS of weight. Falling and terrain mishaps is estimated to have been the primary cause of injury and death of real dinosaurs.
KOS is far less an issue on community servers, specifically ones with rules and discord communities. Can't hunt at caves or teleport locations. And if you are killed because someone breaks the rules, most semi-realism servers will replace your dinosaur (at growth) when you report it.
Lag/rubberbanding in combat. Official servers host up to 200 players. The more players there are on the server, the worse the lag and rubberbanding will be. Community servers have less players (100 max) with many servers 75-60-50 and even less. 100 slot community servers do still have a little lag, but it's usually manageable. Second... fight in spurts. If you're chasing constantly, your target will rubberband more and more. Learn to engage and disengage, hit-run-repeat. Utilize your precise movement key to turn more in place and not only do you lag less, you'll do better in fights.
I was on the edge about getting this but after reading this I really think I’ll enjoy it and they cant go anywhere but up, i dont think the things people dislike can get worse, if the people creating this game really want this game to thrive(which it sounds and looks like they want the game to be successful)(I believe it can) they will listen to their fanbase and i think they will, i have high hopes for this and i believe they will deliver
@@dylanb9963 Of all the dinosaur survival simulators available, I enjoy Path of Titans the most. Isle was great until they broke it and moved on to Evrima without fixing the legacy version. Evrima is really still in Alpha phase and horribly unbalanced and not what I would call a game, more of a testing ground for a game to come.
Personally I look at what a developer has already done, which gives a good idea about what they're planning and where the game is most likely headed. The Isle for example: What I know the devs have done is break a game that was working, not fix their map which was about 60-70% unplayable due to resources (food) not being added, and then they abandon it to focus all their time and attention on the next project. Further development of the legacy Isle was unnecessary... but they could have at least fixed the lighting and shadows for the community who was (and is) still playing it. This to me makes the developers unreliable and their projects untrustworthy.
Path of Titans on the otherhand have so far been very attentive to their community, produced a very good game thus far, and have planned to only add more content, not change direction. If you do buy it and decide to play, I am an admin for a great community server called "Life finds a way". A semi-realism server with full discord under the same name. Feel free to join us if you want a great community to play with. We also have Isle and Beasts of Bermuda servers.
We should add some Bot Dino much better because engaging against another player because most players is friendly
I love this game. The lack of easy identification and communication in game and human nature combine make for a very real experience in vanilla game. It’s scary hearing footsteps. Growth is slow and easily lost if you encounter a hungry Dino lol. It’s crazy fun and heart pounding at times. It’s can absolutely use some updates and improvements but I always feel like I’m really a Dino trying to survive. I love it when people try and shame me for killing baby Dino’s lol 🤷♂️ I’m hungry and this is the wild!

Right now in the games current state, it’s worth in in my opinion if all you do is game in your spare time. Unfortunately pachys are wack baby killers and you will likely get set back days if not longer by them killing you if you aren’t extremely careful. Other thing is that no passive growth, and quests being hard to come by, make it difficult for casual gamers to level. You literally have to dedicate hours of play at a time and cannot very easily be relevant without doing so, unless you go struthi and just run away from everything and run around the entire map looking for quests.
*In a Nutshell: This is a Dinosaur Survival, Open World game. Where Dinosaurs, are the Player Characters by Class. **_Now the Need-to-Know things is; How does the game handle Questing and Missions?_* 👍👍& 5⭐😀
It isn't worth your money. If you say one thing wrong to someone in the official server chats, they can get you Publisher Banned without you getting a warning first and it takes a while to appeal the bans. Its not worth losing $30 USD (same price for the switch too) all because some kid in the game took offense to you defending yourself from toxicity in the chat and report you for it. Worst part is you will likely not get unbanned or get your money back.
I *really* wanted to like this game, but after playing for about an hour i had to call it quits.
It's actually just: Fetch Quest - The Game.
Singleplayer is totally barren with nothing to do or interact with. Honestly don't understand why it's even a feature.
MP is generally KOS, Cave Camping and general griefing, which i can forgive. There is nothing else at all for people to do. It's also plagued with lag and rubberbanding that makes pvp a chore.
There are minimal quests in the game from my understanding - run across map to "X" and collect 25 "X" dotted around an area...and thats it, thats your game. Oh, and hunt "X" species, which i never bothered with - barely saw another player and when i did they just killed me on sight.
It also makes no sense at all why you're collecting things. Why does a carnivore need to collect 25 acorns followed by 25 mushrooms? Why? Because the quest system is soulless and the most basic "Go here and click on these things", and of course there is a currency and shop to buy useless trinkets and skins for your base when you try desperately just to *some* kind of gameplay.
Saying "its good with friends!“ is also pointless. Anything is good with friends, friends don't make a bad game good.
2/10. Only thing the game gets right is the premise and the animations.

Bummer if it was filled with a living ecosystem similar to monster hunter this would be a amazing game hopefully they will make changes in new updates like no mans sky this game has a lot of potential

Looks cool but I can't say I like the idea of quests at all, they seem so immersion breaking for a game about surviving as a dino.
I kinda like the fall damage if a 2 ton animal falls down it's gonna get hurt
I started playing it two days ago. personally I really like it. I agree with everything you said but I just hate when people kill you for no reason lol when I’m just passing by as a juvenile lol
If you die to a herbivore that may be your fault for getting too close to them. If by a carnivore then its not for no reason, food is food
I don’t have the game, but I know that some people will kill anything they see for really no reason other than “it’s fun”.

its cool to see someone enjoying the game. I cant seem to enjoy it, the lag you talked about in combat is still very much a problem, & combat over all is very distastefully bad. but the models mostly look cool. Still regret being a backer though.
I hope it can get better in the future! They do plan on improving combat! Such as grab animations, etc🙌🏻

Completely disagree about AI Dino’s. If you want a game with realism and real fear and intimidation and intensity from crossing paths with a player 10x your size, play the Isle. Much more intimidating than this. When I read the description for this game it said it’s an mmo dinosaur survival game with quests and combat focus. If all the players are in one or two spots, that completely removes the purpose of having a big map. You need to give players incentive to actually go across the Map and do things. AI is one way to do this
Quests to grow is so dumb, quests ain’t a bad idea for coins, but quests to grow is so backwards… Seamless growth like the isle is way better
the real problem with this beta game is it doesn't have any content that's the only thing missing
I don't get how people are having fun in this game, I been playing for like 16-17 hours just got out of jeuvy stage it's soooooo boring, the quest system sucks and is boring as hell, I spend like 20 minutes sprinting round a biome just to find the resource for the quest, sometimes I'll find like 19/25 and then im running around another 10 minutes just to find 6 more because they aren't around anywhere I run too, I shouldn't have to play for 50 hours to reach adult for the game to finally be fun, theres like no people anywhere, unless you go to a specific spot on the maps so barely any interaction and getting kossed when you finally see someone setting you back is just downright frustrating, I'm bored out of my mind trying to just get to a point I can stop growing and actually fight back against these dinos because as a jeuvy im getting slaughtered by full grown allos or other herbivores much bigger than me, this game has terrible game design it truly does, if a game takes 50 hours to finally start being fun finally, that's a trash game, I shouldn't have a monotonous chore to finally start having fun it should be fun from the get go and this aint it
No AI dino means constantly starve to death like The Isle lol

Originally I was giving up on waiting for the ps4 update for primal cause I switched to path of titans but Jesus christ POT is intolerable. I spent 2 weeks on this game (POT) and when I finally get to adolescent I starve to death cause there's no sniff function
Also I hate how often the server resets!
The only way I can survive is as a juvenile because at least then they tell me where the food actually is in this 4000 mile wide map of pure emptiness. But also as a juvenile if I don't build speed I get recked by literally everything or farmed out of my own base
I love POT for its immersion BUT it chooses the weirdest hills to die on.
Immersive food scavenging -- but somehow choose to not add the one thing dinosaurs used to detect it in the first place??
Random flower hunting for growth -- but if you step outside of the area it just dosent count anymore?
Incentive for making packs via growth increase -- but if the leader leaves the area no one gets the exp for the quest??
For every good decision they make it feels like they intentionally do a 34 degree tilt on it that just makes you go like
" Weird choice but maybe I can bare it?? "
But dying after I finally got to adolescent because I roamed for 30 minutes without seeing a single source of food was the last straw for me. This is one of the only games that makes me want to WATCH TH-cam while playing. I have to find OTHER STUFF TO DO while playing this, or else I'll just feel like a zombie bored out of my mind from 3 hours of senseless gameplay with no real meaning. I can't tell where the action is because they randomly decided to strip dinosaurs of their *one key method of finding food and other dinosaurs* and they compensated the absolute boredom that it is to wander the map almost completely blind -- by adding quests like " go to this random spot and pick up 200 flowers! "
At that size that is a lot of weight for that fall you could brake a leg

Slow to get around the map not good for single player has so much capacity to be just a little better in my opinion very boring if you are playing alone may be better if multiplayer npc would have helped

No end game. Just grow, hunt, explore and have fun! They plan to add more things to do later this year

I dunno, I’d like to try the game but talking to people/ interacting with people online and especially vocally or through chat is a huge turn off to my kind of personality. I guess it’s just not for me 😂

It's better than B.O.B. now. The devs seems to be slacking and the graphics on Bob suck now. POT has stepped up their game in the recent months.
TI Evrima is unplayable for me because even on the lowest graphics I lag horribly but I can play legacy perfectly fine without having to alter graphics, should I buy Path of Titans or would I probably lag the same?
I play Path of Titans on ultra settings and I don’t lag that much! But if you’re playing on a packed server with a lot of Dino’s around it can get quite laggy/rubberbanding but you can always lower the settings if that happens

This game is not worth your money at all right now!!! I promise you from the bottom of my heart it would be wayyyyyy better to buy the game later.
The game hasn’t changed much at all for its 3 years in development, and although it is an early access demo that doesn’t excuse the fact that there is literally nothing to do!
There are other games with similar sized dev teams + similar levels of experience that Atleast have the core mechanics in!
Pot has none of that, the only game changing mechanics/update this game has received was the growth update which is hated by many within the community.
I hate to say it because I love this game and its devs but its true, this game is lack luster at best and isnt worth 30 bucks what so ever. I’d highly encourage everyone who plans on buying this game to Atleast wait until we get more core mechanics.
However if you do still plan on buying the game Id highly recommend skipping the toxic mess that is the matchmaking official servers, and joining a community server. Community servers growth and player-base are alot more tame and friendly towards new players.
Servers Id recommend are
WWD: hardcore realism server with an amazing friendly community
Veloccis Realm: minimal rules community server with friendly player interaction ( for the most part)
Isla Nycta: Semi realism server with great player interaction.
Primordial tyrants: modded community server with minimal rules
Or just any other community server you can find and enjoy with friends!
I respect your opinion! I personally just find the game really fun. Yes it has its repetitive moments but they have potential if they do it right!
