Dubai faced intense rainfall late Monday night and throughout Tuesday, April 16, leading to the inundation of major highways and the international airport. The UAE government responded by issuing warnings advising employees to opt for remote work and to leave home only when absolutely necessary. Federal employees were instructed to work remotely until Wednesday. Operations at the Dubai airport were briefly suspended in the afternoon but resumed after 25 minutes.
