7:10 The triggered ability at the bottom of Aether Revolt is not "tied" to the revolt ability written above. That said, AR will always deal damage to any target whenever you get energy even if you didn't have a permanent leave the battlefield on the same turn.
I think the separation of the clauses is more apparent in the physical version of the card than the one on Arena. I was looking it up myself and that makes sense to me (and is kind of what I expected from the design). I appreciate you providing the info!
So the aether revolt will trigger damage anytime you gain energy. I played a sweet UR deck with that and 2 Bespoke battle wagons. I was able to deal 4 damage to anything every turn! Super fun.

As a player that played against aether I can confidently say that it always does damage when energy is gained. But it does more damage if revolt activates.
Just have 1 question. At 24:39 Why use unicorn on the first unicorn? Bestowing on slith would give more stats to slith (+2 instead of +1) and raise the other unicorn. Once slith was dead the first unicorn could then give counters to the second unicorn and so on. Wouldn't it be better?
Thanks for the rules clarity! I was looking at the text on the non-Arena version of the card and that does a better job of separating the clauses. I think when I was doing the Bestow I forgot that there would be two instances of Mentor on the card, as I thought the Bestow just gave stats. In that context, it made sense to buff my Mentor creature as that would get me extra stats overall! Sometimes, especially earth in a format, the explanation for a play is that I’m learning the cards still. I’m glad you enjoyed the video!

It’s a fantastic card!
I think you should be taking gold cards earlier in this set given the quality of fixing available, staying open obviously pays off here but the top gold cards are just so good.
That logic actually cuts both ways. If I stay flexible and find the open color pair, I can get super powerful gold cards late that no one else is able to use.
nyxborn remains undervalued
I don’t love the card but I’ve played it a couple times and it has been alright. I don’t always like loading up all my resources onto one creature, as things like tapping effects or Pacifism effects become devastating. Trample helps, and Bestow is a nice ability, but it’s still not a card I take super highly at the moment.
@@NicolaiBolas in my experience its more about just loading up on value 2drops
Scurry of gremlins is the best card in the set.
It leads to some awesome turns! Best is a high bar that I don’t think it reaches, but it’s certainly a great build around!
@@NicolaiBolas I win every game as soon as it hits the board. I haven't played another card thar does that. It's definitely only good in an energy deck, to be fair. But it's gotten me over the 50% win plateau.
