I'm glad I was a child in the 80s, we had the best toys. My favorites was the Care Bears, My Little Pony, the Pound Puppies, Popples, and Jem and the Holograms. It was the early 90s that I was obsessed with TMNT.

She was already claiming me when mother was pregnant her pee on anything she could get that was mine. once sis was born the cat decided to gut them I had multiple carebears and multiple Popples. I forgot to put them up before daddy took me out to do something (I was 4 1/2) mother had taken sis to be shown off to one of her friends. And yes she did as well as gut them. By seeing this fisher-price tape recorder i remembered that back in the day my grandmother bought this gold coloured small cassette recorder with radio, that i started to use and recording stuff and friends trying to be some kind of a reporter.Once my grand mother hide it in order not to brake it or ruin it,but i came back for more after i discovered where it was hidden! I recorder allot of funny and wacky stories with that and with the time i bought newer ones and recorded many cassettes that i preserved and transferred them in my hard drive from my pc in order never loose those recordings! I also have uploaded some on my channel and one of those was edited with the soundforge,it is a spooky story i had created because i love halloween & such.

Omg a pogo ball. It was like the best thing to me in 2005. Ugh I feel old. And I collect all old + new (best place is flea markets since they are sold so cheaply) I found 5 old g1 horses from a bunch of flea markets and have a bag full that I still have to clean and wash. I have a conga line of two for two different molds. And then of cource the new g4. That is where is have the most. They place a special place in old and new hearts and I'm glad they try to still keep that show alive.

I also collected Smurfs, but sadly those Smurfs including my Mushroom house has gotten lost to the sands of time:(. However, Now as an Adult I mostly collect Teddy Bears and I now have 5 of the 21st Century Care Bears:). The 70s and 80s were an awesome time for making Toys. I grew up in West Germany in the 80s and I remember having seen dubbed Care Bear movies in the video store and even renting them out and watching them a bunch of times, but I don't think the toys were actually sold in Germany. At least I don't remember ever seeing them anywhere and I wasn't even aware the cartoons were based on a toy line.
What was big in Germany was "Rainbow Brite". My little sister had some of those and there was a series of audio plays on cassettes.
My sister and me had to share a bedroom and we had a agreement that we would alternate every evening in getting to chose which cassette to play after going to bed.
That is why I am aware of the Rainbow Brite lore, hehe, at least the lore of the German audio play series. No idea whether it deviated from anything original.
Those audio plays were huge in Germany back then and every toy line got one. I think sometimes the toys were even sold in a bundle with a cassette with 1 or 2 episodes of those series on them.
When I got to chose every other night, I would usually chose "Masters of the Universe" cassettes to listen too, but I also had some of other IPs like "The Real Ghostbusters" (audio versions of the cartoon show), "ALF" or "Marshall Bravestarrr".
We also had "heavier" stuff like "Moby Dick" or "Edgar Allan Poe's stories" and of course classical Brothers Grimm fairy tales.

I was a 2000s kid, but I think I had a few 80s and 90s toys. I had care bears, a glow worm, my little pony, and my sister had a troll doll.

The boys would also sniff the Strawberry Shortcake dolls in the toy store aisle...if nobody was looking.

My Cabbage Patch doll really was unique since it was homemade by my aunt. The only difference between hers and the store bought version was that the "skin" was cloth instead of plastic.

Teddy Ruxbin and Grubby were two of the most expensive toys in the 80s $50 just for Teddy Ruxbin and another $50 for Grubby Most kids wanted them but very few actually had them including me but I did have a few cousins who had them

1980 MLP didn't have 'Cutie Mark's' that was a creation of the new Friendship is Magic Line. The mark was just a symbol.

Okay, so these are illegal in the United States so a lot of you wouldn’t get this, but I got a Care Bear from a Kinder egg. Kinder eggs are hollow chocolate eggs with a plastic capsule inside containing a collectible toy. They’ve been illegal in the US since they first came out due to a law prohibiting food from containing inedible objects, but in Canada they’re really popular!
