🤣 I don’t really watch TH-cam (unless I’m stuck on something) so I don’t really have anything to compare it too. I’m quite certain there is better out there, but thank you.
One of the best-looking bikes on the market. I was corrected regarding the bike's depreciation earlier. I'd been basing my observation on the depreciation of the 500cc model in Thailand. The Benelli dealer in Chiang Rai ended up having to close, sales were so poor, sadly. I would be proud to own an 800 trail if I didn't already have the SCR. Has your Ducati Scrambler been reliable, just out of interest? Nick
Hi Nick, My Duc scrambler 800 is a 2016 (so the model before the current one) and yes, it has been reliable. There were a few niggles, corrosion on the fuel filler bolts that were replaced with stainless at the first service without charge, and when I upgraded the rear shock to an Ohlins, the steel bolt in the alloy swingarm required an act of god to budge it. (One of 'those' 20 minute jobs that takes a few days...) Otherwise it's been great. I have the Termi race pipe from new with the Ducati map to go with it and it burbles away quite nicely.
@@PeakMotorcycles That's good to hear. When I moved to Thailand in late 2017, a Ducati Scrambler 800 was going to be the bike I bought, but I never got one. I still really like them.
@@1990-t1j I did worry about the electrics or any other problems, but I suppose on the one hand they are quite simple. Also The engines aren’t tuned particularly highly either. They were/are made to a budget vs the top end super (insert bike type here) offerings, but that seems to have been through simplicity not loss of quality or reliability.
Would be interested to know how it compares with your Duc Scrambler and how it actually goes offroad....is it cosmetic or actually capable, like the Triumph Scramblers?
The Benelli feels bigger and heavier than the Ducati, and it is. The Ducati is 186Kg and makes 75hp to the Benelli's 234kg to 76hp, so I'd expect the Ducati to win a drag race, but then these bikes are rarely used for such things. Perhaps a better comparison (though also subjective) is if you prefer an inline twin to a V-Twin and how that power is delivered. I think the Ducati is better offroad, this is partly weight related and partly demostrated through the 'Desert Sled' variant which is very capable for it's class. (Mine is just an Icon, so doesn't have the high front mudguard or the extra suspension travel of the Desert Sled). By contrast, the 800 Trail is derived from the Leoncino 800, which is a good road bike. The last comparison is the price, the Benelli is £7,000 and a new Scrambler 800 is £10,000. On top of that the Ducati servicing does get a bit eye watering, I think the Desmo service on my 800 is £800 or thereabouts. If size and weight is important, and money no object, I'd get the Ducati. If you're a larger person (this includes me at 6'1") and will be using it mostly on road, then I think the Benelli is better value. Does that help?
I agree with that. It definitely feels quicker and more torque. Certainly easier overtaking. The 702x felt more like a low-mid powered adventure bike. The 800 Trail felt more like a naked bike. (Which it is...) but the experience felt more open. For riding pleasure, I'd pick the 800. For commuting year round and a bit of touring, I'd pick the 702.
I borrowed a smaller road version when my classic 500 was in for a service and loved the fun engine so can imagine how much smiles this gives out .
It really does!
Really enjoyed the review . I’m 6’4” would I fit ? Love the look of it
Probably as well as any bike. It doesn't have an enduro bike 'seat to peg' height, but it's roomy enough. I'm 6'1" and it was fine.
A very, very, very good channel. Clearly, I have some work to do?! 🙃

Who loves yah baby 👍🏻you maybe too young to know 👍🏻 nice review
🤣. I get the too young thing every day…. Ok, maybe 25 years ago!
I guess if you're moving to the booths,y and get up at like 4 am, you'd get there before anyone even has a morning tea.😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

Andre how do you compare this to the 702x TRK which I have but having tried the 800 it’s so much more an animal.

I think what they're saying with this bike is " we drafted the original plans didn't we??😉😉

It looks like you could hit a bicycle though, and really just run with that bike.😊😊😊😂😂😂

Way way too powerful for...well, anything except a fatal accident, but easy to see how engineers could be talked into such super power as a v twin.
