G'day Everyone, by CRIKEY we had a lot of fun at Hosanna Farm Stay (talking about acreage envy lol...) www.hosannafarmstay.com.au/ I have uploaded one extra clip on my second channel already you can see it here th-cam.com/video/Nml_a0fofBY/w-d-xo.html it's about pigs. I will upload all of the extra footage from our stay at Hosanna over the next several days to Self Sufficient Me 2. Thanks for your support! Cheers :)
I loved how quickly you put down the little piglet when you realized it wasn't into it. Some assholes would still hold the thing kicking and screaming....
Great video Mark, looks like you had a brilliant time (much deserved). What the Hosanna Farm stay has constructed is actually a life time ambition of mine and has been since I was a little boy , there's nothing like that here in UK so maybe one day ;)
SERIOUSLY Mark this is my back yard. welcome!! So happy to hear you enjoyed yourselves we love it down here, and feel really lucky. But I tell you it was watching you that helped with our final choice to live here and make our tree change. Just stoked, we feel like we live in heaven. You rock!!!!!
So many people get into homesteading, not realizing how hard it truly is, and how much work is involved. I wish they had these farmstays available everywhere, for various climates, because each climate has its own risks and rewards, but so people can do the work while there...to understand what's really involved. This looks more like a vacation.
My Dad moved our family to the country when I was 7 and I learned to love it. I spent my summers Hiking threw the woods and finding stuff under rocks while my siblings found every reason to hate it. They would start their bickering and fighting and I would just disappear into the woods or, to the middle of the hay ring to pet the horses while they munched away.
One of my favorite videos of the last 5 years. Due to the many well-documented small pieces of footage and the understandable explanations. One can truly feel the symbiosis of silence and a relaxing atmosphere on the farm. Slow lifestyle is the best time of all times.
@@emylytle5409 u can buy 20 acres for less than 90 grand but is out in the desert. Because of people moving from the cities because of our lockdown laws it’s getting unreachable for most now. I was lucky Covid put my house into a stupid high price bracket so we took advantage and sold.
Thank you so much for this perspective. I also love the farm life and am a chicken owner and gardener. Here in America so many people are in a rush to go nowhere and it’s a sad state of affairs. I 100% agree with all you’ve stated. I’m glad your family got a little time to unwinded🙏🏽. Happy gardening from Florida 🌞
This video hit me on a spiritual level and reminded me of the possibilities, so thank you for that. It all looks amazing and it certainly comes through in the video. Amazing. Aren't we all blessed!
It is only a matter of months before we leave the suburbs and find a decent size property or land. I know what is happening and what is yet to come, all planned. Cheers Mark for all your videos and efforts, it will help many people in the times ahead. 👍
Oh YES. 🙌🏻 This looks like so much fun! We are taking our kids to Yellowstone National Park in a few weeks. Can’t wait to unplug and just enjoy nature. 🦌🦬🐾
I grew up on a farm, getting up early to milk cows, clean the pig pen, round up the chickens, pluck veggies from the garden, and do it all over again 7 days a week. Always took time out for Sunday church, then back to farm! I still garden to this day, but can't have any farm animals where we live. Great fun!
Entering semi retirement just got my first rural property . No animals or veggies yet, but every day there is a new life . Whole heartily agree with you Mark .
Looks like a a GREAT place! 😊 I personally feel so lucky to live on a farm - although there are only some chicken despite the grasslands and fields. One day, we wanna open the farm for other people to show them how agriculture works. 😀 Hello from Austria 🇦🇹
Yes this is the greatest stay on the farm, i was born on a farm in. Gaspe, Quebec, Canada and i will move back to Ontario with my husband and retire in June 5 weeks.........yeah........I am watching your videos and you sure have told me so many things, i am going to have a small gardens..........Tomatoes, strawberrys, cucumber, and so much more.........I love your videos.............

Hey Mark, been away from the channel for a couple of months and what a boon you’ve had! We’re so happy for you on how successful it’s become! The video you put out of not knowing if you’d continue the channel is long forgotten 😁 Great effort, keep fighting the good fight, all the best from our family to yours 😉
That is beautiful 👍🏾 the best part is living it and not being a passive observer as you mention. Those kids will remember that experience forever. I grew up in a rural/small town in South America and now living in USA that’s all I crave is the natural life, that I’m really trying to re-create it on my small plot of land in the city. Hopefully blessings of good health I will be able to live on a farm not too far from the city but more in nature.
Hey Mark, we know the owner of Hosanna, and she invited us up there, for the weekend and not only we stayed in the homestead too and we didn't have to pay a single cent. But it is the best place on earth!
I really hope you get a bigger property in the future. You really do deserve it! Plus it would make for some next-level content. Thanks for all you do. I'm learning so much as a newer veggie/fruit gardener. And your content is entertaining as well.
Thx for an awesome vid, the farm stay is an absolute paradise. Might just mention for any potential tree changers to not confuse a fa stay such as this one with the reality of buying & farming on your own place, which consists of a lot of endless hard work, money, constant maintenance, frustrations, etc. We purchased in NSW 115acres of beautiful country & for the past 7 yrs have been setting it up for retirement. Absolutely love it, the commitment, work & being prepared for the unexpected must be factored in
I made a friend the other day (first ever farmers markets, plants and real lye cooked soaps) that in invited us at the end of the month to process forested spoiled rotten pigs, and tractored meat birds. I absolutely cannot wait for the day I relearn the skills I touched on as a child in the 90's hanging out with "old" guys
I'm grateful that you and your family had such a mooving good time. Sometimes a person just gets so cooped up. Thank you of the reminders of my hog wild years in Dairy Country, New York State, USA.
You made me remember that my family used to do this when us kids were little. I helped milk cows, feed the calves, slept in hay, fed chickens, shovelled manure, drove on a tractor, etc. It was so much fun and so interesting.
I was very lucky growing up to have family who had a smallholding so I got to visit on school holidays and help out. So much fun! Might need to look into a farm break soon lol xxx
What gorgeous cows! They're very friendly when handled regularly, smart too. The recognise themselves as individuals in a way most animals don't. They know when you're speaking to them in particular, as opposed to the herd. I miss being on the farm, looking after the girls.
A farm stay inspired me to start Calisto Park equestrian, a charity That basically provided equine therapy, riding and self sufficiency to all in need of the service. Now I have plans to set up a retreat and trips to visit other poly culture farms has been inspiration, plus the PDC I just completed. Highly recommend farm stays and tours. It could make that massive difference and help to discover the purpose within.
There are alot of people that should stay at one of those before jumping in head first. But rather than staying at a farm for recreation maybe it could become a win win for the homestead and future homesteaders
That was just beautiful! and being in nature and with nature is a magical place - so much wonder to take in and so valuable for our well-being. I just loved this video. Thank You Mark!
