Have you ever used a cheese grater? That's my go to tool for this type of work

I can’t believe I’ve only just found your channel!
I’d never heard of this tool before and it’ll definitely be added to the list for future projects, thank you!!

If you put a nylon stocking over the shoe roughing brush before use, you can easily remove the dirt that accumulates between the pins after use by removing the nylon stocking. The dirt and dust then easily escapes from between the pins. Quick cleaning tip I learned in dance class.

I cant praise this tool enough !
    Its cheap as hell
    durable
and saves a shitload of time !
Btw Heres a few hints on using it
DONT hit your fingers, the hardened steel spikes will strip your flesh clean off :D
The teeth are practycally indestructable, i used one for allmost a year untill the upper teeth basically bend, but i have yet to see one fall out .
You will have to adjust the handling though to not hit yourself.
Keep it away from zippers, as the teeth can basically destroy a zipper within seconds.
If you use it on synthetic fibres, it tends to just cut through them cleanly.
YOu can use it for precise rips if you just turn it on its side and only use the side spikes, but as you said... you can just use a serrated knife instead.

What about wire brushes that we can buy in hardware store for for example removing rust? If you know what I mean? Also thanks for the recipe with multitool saw. It works really well. I am just making my second postapo costume and your videos give me a lot of inspiration and techniques that I haven't know thanks to you.

Great Tip! I think I still have a brush like that from my ballroom dancing days. I never even considered using it as a distressing tool. It can hurt like a sonuvabitch if you're not careful and catch your hand with it, though.

didnt happen to me yet, but at some point it will hahaha :D with this tool, when i know im gonna be in "rage" mode distressing quickly, thus risking to hit my holding hand, i use a thick glove on the hand that holds the fabric

Hello snail. I’ve used these videos to make a costume for a airsoft event this weekend. I’ve decided to take old clothes and rip them then stain them with paint and what not. Thank you for the inspiration

Das ist eine "Aufrauhbürste" und ist aus dem Tanzschuh Bedarf. Baumärkte haben sowas leider nicht, gibt es aber sehr günstig z.B. bei Ebay. Such einfach nach Aufrauhbürste
