Hello. Great tutorial! What if the bolts are already there? I mean during the assembly I fastened it using the bolts from the toolbox. Do I have to remove all the bolts from the toolbox and do the same steps as you did in this video? Thanks
If you have SOLIDWORKS Simulation Professional, toolbox fasteners can be automatically converted when creating the study, or when applying boundary conditions. With the advantage of having all the settings applied by SOLIDWORKS, i.e., strength data, pre-load, etc. All you need to do is to apply the no penetration contact.
When i try to set up my fixture, i selected the beam surface and it shows "Load/Restraint cannot be applied to the beam face, edge or vortex". How to solve this problem ? and i notice why the object you designed earlier with the base is not shown during the simulation. The beam that sticking out also change its place to the middle of the main beam. I think u have change different CAD files for this video
Did the bolt fail or just approach its yield strength (by the way, which yielding criterion was used?)? There is no damage or failure criterion in this simulation, not mentioning plasticity... 1) How can one state that something has reached failure without setting the above conditions? 2) What about mesh effects (I do not see any mesh here...), stress concentration? 3) Simulations without minimal validation, mean nothing. 4) It has not been a great idea to embed FEM into CAD software. This is the end of real Engineering and of Engineers who think that Engineering Design is about drawing.

To design my structure I always use paint 3D and I generally never run a structural analysis because I overstate all my beams size and I add extra bolts for critical connections. In this way the structure never collapse. In life you have to outsmart problems bro, you clearly ain’t a good engineer.
@@shadyammar2395 bro there are too many variables to take into account: the ultimate deflection strength for superimposed loads can be determined either through Van Der Mises analysis or with simple static equations: Sigma tau = bearing of the column x Modulus of Plasticity/Torsional Radius Moment. In order to compensate with the cost of overstating the beams, you can select cheaper materials than steel. It’s not rocket science bro.
Ihave a trouble with bolt conection in solidworks simlation. i have a countersunk bolt. Head of bolt is a square of 29mmx 29 m and draft on 5 degree. Head of bolt has a thickness of 25mm . It's not an option in bolt connection bescase i can't choose 4 surface of head bolt for set contact. How can i use type of this countersunk bolt in solidworks simulation!. tks a lot.

There are not bolts under compression streght. All are under tension, becase lower bolts can't be compress it by itself. The are not other elements trying to compress it. Maybe, tension could be zero, but no negative (compression). On the other hand, compression is present between vertical flange and the lower sector of horizontal beam attach plate.

i have a question, what if i beam is bolted on both sides? Does it cause tensile stress due to bending moment? or just cause shear stress only?

I solved it by choosing "Treat as solid" for all my parts including the beams
The horizontal ribs at 15:37 are meaningless, because lead to breaking of the wall plate out of profile. The ribs must match the profile ribs.
