Peanut Interstate Cadet-Start to Flight

- I remember this kit having impossibly hard balsa that had no hope of conforming to the curve of the bottom longeron. This model was never finished, but the Waco SRE that was kitted with it went together OK. I rebuilt that model in the late '80s and it flew great. I decided to try this one again using my years of gained experience, and I needed all of it! I laminated 6 bottom longerons because I dropped the building board on my first fuse, and I couldn't get 2 more that matched. 3 tries at the wheels, and I ended up convincing myself that washing out the wings like a propeller was the secret to stability. It isn't. Enjoy the wild oscillations into the wall!
we love your videos!
Should be a great flyer once you get her trimed and balanced. Cheers!
You'll work out the bugs and you'll have a good flyer! Maybe a rudder tab to help with the turn?
@@Watchingthevideos99 I had the rudder pretty hard to port already. Maybe I'll try a bigger prop as well as straightening that wing. I think most of those Mooney peanuts I've drooled over had 6" props. But I really want it to ROG, circle around, and plop down.
Thanks for taking an interest!
@@kenkingsflyingmachines2382 be careful, a larger prop may introduce torque issues. A great prop for at least getting a peanut flying is the 4 3/4 inch gray Peck prop. Good luck. I'll be looking for your next video.
We are oddly alike in our creativity. Almost like siblings. 😂
Was the funeral home ad at the end intentional? It made me laugh.
@@debminter1 I bet those Hitzeman mixers are killer parties.
