This would be a wonderful channel for parents to sit with their children and watch together and it will spark conversations. Also if any of the viewers here know of teachers then pass it on to them for them to perhaps subscribe to and then once a month the class room watches and discusses. I know for myself after watching I feel so much lighter in spirit and hopeful.
You will get better ❤ just continue to look for good and accept good. And btw Sam how can good become bad? If everything around us was good we would rarely see bad happen, right now we are completely opposite with the current situation in the world. Just do good and see for yourself
I'm just absolutely in love with your channel dude. I genuinely believe that if we had more positive media in the world, more people would be inspired to do more good, and then we'd have more good news to report, and we'd snowball into a better and brighter future.
How come you dont have more subscribers, Sam??? I bet u can work on it, pls pls pls! ❤ And yes, I did share ur channel with most of my friends but thats just a drop in the ocean. Wishing u 1mln subscribers by the end of the year, what do u say? 😊
Our state parks here in Georgia worked with the Aimee Copeland Foundation to add off-road trackchairs that are available for disabled visitors! My husband, who is quadriplegic, got to try one recently and thought it was a lot of fun!
I did a video on that story on my IG a while back and spoke to Aimee she’s awesome! So glad your husband got to try one out, I hope more places adopt them soon!
This really came at the right time for me. I was pretty down because of all the bad news recently, but as always, this has managed to pick me up again. Thank you so much for doing these, you have no idea what an impact you're making
Hey Sam, sending massive love your way,. I work with a bunch of environmental not for profits and environmental volunteers in Australia, folks working to restore ecosystems and landscapes. These monthly good news round ups are the best of food for our souls. The ripple effect thats created as a result of your work is epic, congratulations and thanks tons for sharing xx
I don't comment often, but I really like your channel and am very grateful for the work you put into your content. I especially like these monthly "good news" videos, as an extremely pessimistic person, I often forget that things can also be pleasant. I wish all the media would do this, because it's so tiring to hear catastrophic news all the time, and because of it, we tend to think the world is a bad place. Anyway, I'll stop grumbling for now. Thanks again ❤ (Love the recipe btw, you should definitely try another one next month!)
Thank you so much for bringing some positivity to my otherwise fu cked up algorithmic feed! I went out of my way to seek out happy content since youtube decided I'm a doomer, and you have made it so worth it. Thank you!
the crumble looks amazing! if you try it again you might like adding some chopped oats to the crumble on top as it helps hold it together a bit more! love the good news ❤
loved your vid, bud. and the idea of interspersing the news with a cooking project - or any project in general - is genius. it could be anything, eg you could be making a paper airplane or building a lego castle. as long as it's something that progresses step by step, it's cool. really loved the video! thanks!
after a weekend discussing the state of the world with my parents, it was really nice to hear the good news that has been happening. thank you for the work you do spreading the positivity.
Alternative to the rhubarb crumble: bring chopped rhubarb to the boil with chopped crystallised ginger and honey. Boil for about 5 minutes with the lid on the pan. Stir well, put the lid back on, turn off the heat and wait for about 15 minutes. Put the - slightly cooled - gooey mess of rhubarb & ginger in a dish and crumble ginger nut biscuits on top. Add custard if you like, cream if preferred, but ice cream works well with it too. Oh, and thanks for the good news!
Having been swamped in war news, trump news etc etc today, your channel suddenly popped up, and I thought....why not! You go a little fast for my poor old brain (I've got severe M.E.), but I've subscribed, and we'll see how we go. It's refreshing to hear a British accent, for a change too.
It’s so nice to see some good news. Anywhere I look it’s always negative or it’s people talking bad about this or that it doesn’t matter what the subject is. It’s always negative anymore. Thank you so much for all the work you did for this video. I really enjoyed it.
Well done, Mr. Bentley, I look forward to your videos as they come out to remind myself of the positivity that is out there and give me a little boost every once in a while. Thanks for contributing to the community by bringing forth some high quality content to give us all a little hope.
I was feeling so overwhelmed with all the news, specifically about the heatwave. I literally just looked up 'good news' and found you. Thank you. Subbed.
New subscriber. I saw this come up on my feed and was pretty happy to see it! I'm a public health communicator with a focus on pollution sources; it's a nice, welcome break from that this weekend.
this video felt more slower paced than the previous ones which I appreciate! much easier to actually take in the information when it doesn't feel like a race to cram as much into ten minutes as possible. keep it up! :)
Started following your channel because a friend linked me your instagram after expressing intense climate pessimism. In a world where the negatives feel ever increasing, this gives me hope that things might almost be okay if we just keep pushing for and educating about a sustainable future.
I cant believe it u put me on making crumble Sam! 😅 This is what I miss so much from my childhood back home and my fav one was the red plum crumble ❤❤❤ Didnt know it was so easy to make, tx a bunch! 🎉🎉🎉
@@itsSamBentley I thought of it as a really nice, sneaky (non-derogative) tactic, as I got so invested in the crumble part of the video that I watched the entire thing just so I could see you take a bite at the end.
These monthly good news segments are my favourite news source each month. Thank you for the lovely rhubarb custard recipe and all the amazing news! Keep up the good work ❤
I never, ever comment on videos but this one has changed that for me! I love this series and the addition of cooking makes it even more hopeful. Please keep going!
I actually liked the mix between the good news and the cooking. Heckin made me hungry though for rhubarb and ours isn't ready to be harvested yet. Besides that- Keep up the good work
Love your channel!👍🏻. The rhubarb crumble looks yummy! My mom used to make an apple-rhubarb crumble that was ToDieFor. She also added some oats to the crumble mix. Carry on, stay safe & good news is always a welcome thing! Thanx much!
Ahh yeah I had oats ready for it, so was surprised this recipe didn’t have it, but it’s such a simple recipe that is still so so good! Bet your mums was 👌🏼👌🏼
Always good to see positive stories especially around environmental issues. Liked the point about conservation efforts getting better over time. I follow Mossy Earth and they do a lot of work on being transparent about what worked, what didn't, how they adapted etc. Ecological systems are complicated and sometime didn't react the way we think they will do we have to figure out why and improve the process.
I just love being able to read about the news of the world without being entirely and fully depressed about dead people, our rights, politics and the state of our planet. I am still aware of it and know that it's still a problem, but I just want to smile and look at a friendly smile sometimes, thank you Sam.
I just want to say what a great channel this is - Every night my Nana worries how the world is getting worse, so i put your 2023 summary on for her and we've been going through the channel. We've been really enjoying it! Keep up the amazing work

100% agree! I've been watching with my Nana who was getting very pessimistic, its such a great channel
The world needs more people like you, I'd personally try but I'm a recovering pessimist.
The world needs some pessimists to keep the balance but hopefully these videos can let you take a break from it once in a while!

We need more balance in what gets reported for sure!
@@itsSamBentley Indeed - humans have a built-in negativity bias, it's good from a survival PoV but sucks from a mental health PoV in todays world:')
