I think it is so cool to see the areas you live in. I live in a historic Civil War town. The downtown and surrounding neighborhoods are just fascinating. Our museums and historic Catholic heritage are priceless. I am 7 miles from the Abbey of Gethsemani.
SueMe they make only bourbon fudges and fruitcakes being Kentucky’s claim to fame. They had to give up cheese making. I never knew they made honey. The monks are so old now, so few, and have to rely upon local lay help to even make those items. They get preserves, creamed honey, and coffees from other Abbeys. A local couple who did their bookkeeping stole over $700,000 from them over the years. The sales of Thomas Merton’s publications really help fund them. So sad, many are ill and need nursing home care now. The beauty of that property is a humbling experience. During their hay day, 100+ monks, farmed and logged the timber. After this earthly experience, I’ve reserved my next life spot at the Abbey.

Love that little soap dish, most people don't know that travel toiletry kits always had that, only expensive hotels provided soap and shampoo, people traveling had to take their own.

I am positively tripping over it here. There was another plate hanging next to the one I bought, but it was chipped, so I passed on it. The last time Joce and I were in Maryland, I saw a stack of Southern Pottery dishes, but I felt they were a little too pricey. Because we're swimming in it, I can get pretty picky about prices. But if those pates are still there the next time I go back, I will pick them up just to make them available to collectors... 😊
Hand held devices will input a word as it is being typed, it's possible that it autopopulated the wrong word. Too, there's only so many royalty free songs available. I have heard this one on another channel. That said, kudos for your first solo shopping trip! You are a treasure!

My suggestion (for what it's worth) is to overdub the audio because it was rather hard to hear. Normally, I prefer to hear the live dialogue, but since you were by yourself it's less important. Porcelain clay is denser than ceramic clay, so porcelain will absorb less water. That's the technical difference. The difference to us as collectors is that porcelain clay will produce a finer, lighter piece that can be formed into more intricate designs. A flower pot or a canister will be ceramic, but a highly detailed figurine will be porcelain. 😊

On another note I have my appt tomorrow to schedule my knee replacement! You gave me encouragement! Also cat has his jammie suit you suggested! He has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Dropped from 18.5 to 13 in 6 weeks. Scared me to death. I had switched vets because he refused to test his thyroid! Reason for hair loss and over grooming. He has gained back to 14 and holding. Also appt this week. Will take suggestions for a good wet food for sensitive stomachs or even homemade recipes if you or your viewers have any. Everyone has been so helpful and I want to thank everyone! First time in a year he has had hair on his belly lol! Thx again!
I learned some new things today, thank you. I agree with the advice about insults. There is no reason to make grammar and usage mistakes when insulting online. It’s like trying to make a dramatic exit and walking face first into the door. If you’re online, you have access to google and dictionary.com, use it and learn something new. Of course, you could always just save your sarcasm and go find a video you like.
Not old enough to have watched The Prisoner first time round but old enough to have viewed it on VHS tapes :) I'm about 30 miles from the coastal village of Cushendun which was partly redesigned by the architect who created Portmerrion and you can see the similarities in the bits he did. Fun fact, there's also a statue of a goat which is a monument to Johann the local goat who, sadly, had to be put down during an outbreak of Foot and Mouth. Only in Ireland :D

I am positively tripping over it here. There was another plate hanging next to the one I bought, but it was chipped, so I passed on it. The last time Joce and I were in Maryland, I saw a stack of Southern Pottery dishes, but I felt they were a little too pricey. Because we're swimming in it, I can get pretty picky about prices. But if those pates are still there the next time I go back, I will pick them up just to make them available to collectors... 😊

Hand held devices will input a word as it is being typed, it's possible that it autopopulated the wrong word. Too, there's only so many royalty free songs available. I have heard this one on another channel. That said, kudos for your first solo shopping trip! You are a treasure!

Sue, I loved how you interspersed the shopping videos to break up your presentation! Great idea and something I don't see in other's videos! My suggestion (for what it's worth) is to overdub the audio because it was rather hard to hear. Normally, I prefer to hear the live dialogue, but since you were by yourself it's less important. Very fun video today!
I noticed that when I was editing - not very clear at all. I use a different camera when I am filming in my own space. 😊

Sue, I have a biscuit jar that looks like it was made in the same factory as your vase with the orange and blue flowers. Made in Japan stamp in red. Mine is blue and white lustre , no peach but the design is so close.

Porcelain clay is denser than ceramic clay, so porcelain will absorb less water. That's the technical difference. The difference to us as collectors is that porcelain clay will produce a finer, lighter piece that can be formed into more intricate designs. A flower pot or a canister will be ceramic, but a highly detailed figurine will be porcelain. 😊

On another note I have my appt tomorrow to schedule my knee replacement! You gave me encouragement! Also cat has his jammie suit you suggested! He has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Dropped from 18.5 to 13 in 6 weeks. Scared me to death. I had switched vets because he refused to test his thyroid! Reason for hair loss and over grooming. He has gained back to 14 and holding. Also appt this week. Will take suggestions for a good wet food for sensitive stomachs or even homemade recipes if you or your viewers have any. Everyone has been so helpful and I want to thank everyone! First time in a year he has had hair on his belly lol! Thx again!

I learned some new things today, thank you. I agree with the advice about insults. There is no reason to make grammar and usage mistakes when insulting online. It’s like trying to make a dramatic exit and walking face first into the door. If you’re online, you have access to google and dictionary.com, use it and learn something new. Of course, you could always just save your sarcasm and go find a video you like.

Not old enough to have watched The Prisoner first time round but old enough to have viewed it on VHS tapes :) I'm about 30 miles from the coastal village of Cushendun which was partly redesigned by the architect who created Portmerrion and you can see the similarities in the bits he did. Fun fact, there's also a statue of a goat which is a monument to Johann the local goat who, sadly, had to be put down during an outbreak of Foot and Mouth. Only in Ireland :D
