Fun tip: the intended path through any POI is indicated by environmental light sources, and doesn't require breaking any walls, locked doors, etc.

The claim block (the one you threw away at the beginning) isn't just for multiplayer, it also stops zombies from respawning in the zone indicated by the green box. Allows you to live in a house without having to constantly clear it as the zombies respawn without it.

    • @lilgary9181
      @lilgary9181 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

That is incorrect actually. Your bedroll is what stops zombies from spawning in a certain radius.

    • @grisgrame15
      @grisgrame15 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +13

@@lilgary9181 no he is right. We tested it the block has a deadzone which means no zombies. We used it to hold a poi clear as a bloodmoon base. Plus it has other bonus like being able to pick up workstations, fireplaces again. And most important it protects against trader jobs resetting you poi base if you dont build one completely from scratch.

    • @lilgary9181

      @grisgrame15 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

@@lilgary9181 yeah but the zone of lcb is way bigger (and I never said you were wrong about bed only about lcb). And as I put into with editing, it prevents trader jobs resetting your base. Which is why alone even if it wouldnt prevent zombies makes this block important for someone who just takes over a poi as base :)

    • @leehweht
      @leehweht 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I agree, nothing like setting up a base in a poi, forgetting to throw down a claim block, and having it reset and lose "your area" and all your stuff. (You make that mistake one time.. lol). Use the claim block..

You can tell that you're really having fun with this and that makes it more fun for us to watch! I am truly impressed that you almost made it through a tier 4 POI in the snow biome with a level one baseball bat being a beginner at this game.
    A couple tips:
-The colored eyes mean it's a feral zombie which is more difficult to kill and they are faster. (You can also turn feral sense on in the settings which means those ones always know where you are)
-The green zombies are radiated which are even more difficult to kill, as you found out.
-You did miss a section in the Bobs Boars and Carls Corn POI where the loot is. There is also a surprise enemy there.
-Looting in the tougher biomes (desert, snow, burnt forest, wasteland) gets you better items, hence the baseball bat you found. But obviously it comes with a risk.
-When placing a block to build, you can press and hold R to get different shapes. There are like a thousand, it's overwhelming, but if you enjoy building it's worth learning.
All in all though, you're doing absolutely excellent. I'm so glad you decided to give 7DTD a shot, the replayablility with this game is endless.

Some tips and tricks: Drink Red Tea before eating food to get more benefit from consuming them. Lucky Looter is best when you want to loot quicker, the extra luck is a bonus (might help the likely-hood of honey drops). A square base four high with ladders starting at the third to jump up & best constructed a few blocks away from a trader, is great with a ramp for zombies to filter towards a 'weak point' a window that is less upgraded than the surrounding walls. Plants and dew collectors at the top of it. Stamina is the worst in the beginning when using melee weapons, so try to put some points into regenerating stamina quicker with the "Rule 1: Cardio" perk with your strength perks too. If you play multiplayer with others, usually a good idea to give folks 'jobs' like being the farmer, the hunter/food/chef, the gunsmithy/forge/mechanic, and so on at the start, eventually everyone will be dipping into others jobs. My sisters LOVE playing 'Zombos" and have been thrilled to see you playing it!! Best of luck and can't wait for you get to some of the really interesting POIs!

Everyone has their own way of playing this game, which is why it's hard to give tips, not only because of how much the game changes. If I'd give any tips it'd be these two:
1 - Try upping the difficulty to something like Survivalist or Warrior. It gets much scarier when the zombies are stronger. It's a tricky early start but since you're progressing pretty good the game will get much too easy on lower difficulties. (Avoid Insane like the plague, it's Insane)
2 - Stick to Traders if you can, their quests and shop will probably surprise you if you keep doing them ol' quests
Look forward to seeing much more of you playing and discovering this amazing game!

Fun fact from me and my friends playing, you never have enough of anything. Best thing to do honestly is find a place to set up base, we normally try to be close to a traitor or if you find a good spot between zones close to multiple traders even better. Build the bigger storage boxes (the writable ones are good for organizing) and just loot loot loot.

The fun thing about 7d2d is that you can play any way you want. Mainly the things to do are Quests and getting books. Watch a few more tutorials about how to play and what to do and how to level your character. Have fun.
Suggest you find a brick or concrete single story, flat roofed building near the edge of a town and sort of close to a trader. Build your working base on the roof. Get parcour so you can jump higher. Build a ladder to access the roof and eliminate all other access points.
Build your horde base nearby but in a seperate location.

    Some tips:
    1. POIs without a skull rating are commonly referred to as "remnant" POIs. What that means is that, as opposed to POIs that have skull ratings, remnants are not questable and therefore do not have a loot cache. They are also typically sparsely populated with zombies, if at all. Most POIs in the game are not remnants.
    2. As you probably know, there are two types of reading material in the game: Crafting Magazines (which unlock recipes and increase the quality of crafted tools/weapons/armor), and Skill Books (which unlock certain abilities as well as additional recipes for mods and consumable items like ammo). Crafting Magazine series are somewhat generic in that you unlock recipes and quality levels as you read more issues in the series. They do not have unique issues that unlock different things. However, Skill Books all have 7 issues and each issue unlocks a specific skill or recipe.
    3. With Skill Books, you may come across some, like the 20% more damage to land claimed property, that seem like they will have no use to you as a single player or for any other reason. IMPORTANT: you should still read any unread volume you find since reading the entire series will net you an additional bonus. Upon completion of any Skill Book series, you will hear a trumpet sound effect indicating that the series is complete. You can see what the bonuses are by looking at your skill tree menu.
    4. All reading material will have a book icon in the top corner that indicates whether or not you have already gained that knowledge. With Crafting Magazines, the icon will change from closed to open once you have read the entire series (can range from 50 to 100 books depending on the series IIRC). With Skill Books, the icon will change from a closed book to an open book if you have that specific volume.
    5. The Needle and Thread Skill Book series is mostly useless as most things you unlock with it are easily found in the world. However, volume 7 is incredibly useful as it allows you to craft double clothing pocket mods (replaces the single pocket mod). Placed on normal clothing items, these are a cheap way to increase carrying capacity.
    6. I think it's been mentioned already, but Land Claim blocks are needed in single player as well as they allow you to pick up placed workstations within it's bounds. Land Claim blocks are easily craftable and you can have up to 3 placed at any one time.
    7. Many POIs have hidden stashes (single crate, will literally say hidden stash) that contain higher quality items. The silo at the boar barn where you found "just 1 murky water" contains a hidden stash under the hay bails at the bottom. Use a shovel to get rid of the bails and you will find a box. In the same vein, some traders have secret areas that contain more loot. For example, Trader Joel who you found at the start of the playthrough, has a residence on the ground floor that you cannot access from any outside door. However, if you crouch and go to the back right corner of the fireplace on the top floor, you will fall into his little apartment where you loot more items. A key box will let you out one of the doors.
    8. Back in Bobs Boars, you definitely missed the final area. Back in the kitchen, there is a stairwell to the other half of the basement. More loot, more super corn (I think) and the legendary Grace. Yes, you get to see who Grace is. Better go prepared...
    9. At first it may seem useless to pair certain mods with certain tools or weapons, like a mod that does more damage to stone. Why put that on a club? Or a combat knife? Well tool and weapon mods do more than just what the description says. They increase the block and entity damage overall. So even though it may not make sense, if you have no where else to put that mod, pair it with a weapon to do more damage overall.
    10. At one point you asked if you could game the system by waiting to open certain crates until you have a higher loot stage. The answer is yes. For all intents and purposes, all crates in the game are empty until you open them. That is because while certain crates are designed to contain certain types of loot, the quality (and sometimes quantity) of said loot is determined by your loot stage. That being said, not all loot containers are governed by loot stage. Themed loot crates, end loot cache containers, ammo piles, cars (and a few others I am missing) are governed by loot stage. Regular containers, like cupboards, construction crates, tool boxes, trash piles, toilets, barrels, vending machines, etc. are not affected by loot stage. It doesn't matter how early or late game you are, they will always contain the same quality of loot.
    11. The zombies' mobility in this game is kind of unique. They can jump, but only at a height of about 1-2 meters (1-2 blocks). They can, however, hop on top of each other and get over higher walls 2-3 meters in height. They can climb ladders, but only if that ladder extends to the ground or 1 meter off the ground. Any ladder that starts 2 or more meters off the ground cannot be climbed by zombies. This becomes especially handy if you are building a base or securing an existing POI. As long as they cannot jump to a higher level or climb a ladder, you will be relatively safe (though, if they are aware of you and have no clear path, they will start destroying blocks in an effort to reach you and may eventually do so.) Lastly, for some reason they move faster when they crawl and can hit you quite easily when doing so.
    12. Steroids are useful for many reasons: They do open your entire carrying capacity, but they also help stave off further injury to broken/sprained limbs that have been treated. So, if you break your arm or leg, placing a cast or splint will treat the injury (reduce recovery time) but if you sprint/use power attacks, that will increase the recovery time, even if treated. Using steroids will negate that effect. As with many medications, though, using steroids comes with a cost of increased thirst. Make sure you are taking plenty of liquids when using them!

I have some BIG tips for you:
    - Land claim box are not only for MP mode, in SP mode you use it to prevent zombies to REspawn after you kill them if you decide to claim a house instead of building one, if you wanna build so it is useless.
    - We usually claim a house as a base and modify another one as a kill base for the bloodmoon on the 7th day
    - Quests, ALWAYS do quests because you gonna loot anyway and get alot of XP and Dukes (money) ALSO doing 10 quests the trader will give you a bycicle
    - Always keep itens to sell like over 40 dukes or 70 dukes you decide never scrap mods, eg. equip mods in a weapon so its value to sell will increase and skyrocket the higher the quality is
    - Polymer, farm this as much as possible to create the water filter so you can make the water dew or just buy the filter from the trader
    - Vitamins, this item can PREVENT you to get infected also cures your dysentery, once you gona make a big hard POI it's better take one of these before
    - Honey doesn't cure infection it reduces 5% if you have like 6% it will reduce to 1% so it's good to use it before it goes beyond 5% or take more the 1 honey after the 5% expires or cure with antibiotics
    - Better magazines, as you already know putting points in a specific perk will increase the odds of finding a magizine of that perk ALSO if you raid a POI of a specific magazine (shotgun messiah, gun stores for weapons, poping pills, hospitals for medicine, gas stations for veichles, tools store for tools, restaurant for food, etc.)
    - Noise traps, the floor is full of trash and this is a very important mechanic this game have and you should master, the trash on the floor makes noise once you step on them, you can destroy them with your tool or read a book that makes you not make noise once you walk on these noise traps
    - Crouch and Shoot, another important part of the noise mechanic is crouch to avoide make much noise, heavy armor make more noise too and shoot with your bow/crossbow/silenced guns on sleeping zombies to avoide make noise and make bonus damage, light also makes zombies to wakeup if you aim a flashlight at them (some times don't) also if you walk on the light zombies will see you
    - Heat mechanic, there is a zombie called screamer, the more heat an area produce it increases the chances of her spawning nearby and being atracted and usually at your base since you will always be crafting something and creating heat
    - 26:38 At this time of the video you walked by firewood, it gives stupid amount of wood for no effort to take it, it is much better than taking down a big tree so always loot it
    - As you know almost every poi is unique and all of them acts like a dungeon because if you notice there always a light on on these pois, this means this is the path you should follow because every door on this path will be open and you won't need to break any door also it will always lead you to the final loot. Some people also loot the entire poi or only the final loot BEFORE starting the quest by clicking on the yellow exclamation mark so the entire poi will reset and you can do your quest and loot again, we call this double loot, some people think it is cheating so they don't, and some only double loot the mail box entrance or car at the entrance to not waste time
    - Always create chests in front of pois you finished looting so you will never be encumbered, if you get encumbered go back to the chest, drop the loot and go back to the poi to continue your quest, do this also in front of the trader later you can do this at your base instead
    - Older patches we were able to build inside/around of the trader and stay there so the bloodmoon was a joke, now we can't
    - mushroom = food = plant in any block = infinite food
    - Granades, any throwable ammo you have to light up also you can hold your fire button to throw it further and if you throw a granade/pipe/molotov without lighting it up as you know it won't do anything but if you light up a new one and throw on top of it it will double explode
There is more but I stopped to watch the video almost 1h30min it is too big, it would be good if you make a video of each day instead or 2 days max, I'll watch later the rest but it will be useless to give more tips since you will be already moved on and won't read anything more from this video. I hope to watch more 7D2D videos! =)

Just a few tips for you because I know some of these tips will help you in the long run:
    - Loot every toilet, there is a very small chance to find a lvl 1 knife or even a lvl 1 pistol in a toilet!
    - Don't underestimate putting points into Master Chef, having good food helps so much.
    - Cloth and Leather are VERY important for crafting essential items, cloth for duct tape (duct tape is used in EVERYTHING) and leather for later game tools/equipment/vehicles. Office chairs and couches are great for getting these materials.
    - Doing Trader Quests are OP, but don't forget to DOUBLE LOOT the POI. Starting the quest resets the poi, so when you get to the quest location, loot it first, then start the quest, it will then reset the poi and you can loot it again!
    - If you need to kill yourself quickly you can eat glass...

Since you're not likely to figure it out through gameplay means, there is 1 tip I really think you should know. Land Claim blocks, they are far more useful than just just a multiplayer land claim. When you place a land claim block in you base, or a pre-existing poi, it will prevent zombies from spawning within the boundary. Also, the owner will be able to pick up and move player made crafting stations and storage chests. 1 small note, press and hold R while holding frame block to open a window to change block shape and rotation type.

Pro Tip for this game: If your inventory is full or you have a lot of stuff and you don't want to drop things you might need, craft a few small sorting chests outside of the building (on the other side of the white street line, because if its a quest anything inside of the area will reset and you'll lose your stuff) Then you can unload your pack into the chests and allow you more room and prevents you from becoming too encumbered.

As a veteran player, just wanted to let you know that almost every POI has what I affectionately call a 'loot room' where there will be a significant stash of resources. Usually a couple of crates, a leather chest, and at harder POIs, sometimes locked chests and infested caches (from infected clear quests only). If you're going to loot anything from a POI, and you're looking to save time, that room is probably your best bet. Also, the trader's quests are a great way to get tools and various other items you might not be able to make early on, but need or want (ammo, vehicles, etc.) and will eventually open the path to harder quests and trade routes that will take you to other traders on the map as well. Lead is a little harder to come by than brass and iron (unless you go actively mine it) and is used in bullet tips later, so it's definitely one of the most useful metals to hang on to, in my opinion. Also keep an eye out for the water purification helmet mod which will allow you to drink the gross water with no ill effect. Love this game and would absolutely love to see more of these!

You know what i would love to see? The ability to build a camp in different ranks, rank one would be like a field tent that the Military use and rank five could be a smaller version of a Trader Outpost. Would be quite cool so you can make multiple outposts around the map as you explore and gather. Perhaps a rank five camp could have a special respawn ability, that way you can make respawn areas in different regions like Wasteland and Snow. I think buildable camps would be an amazing touch to a wilderness survival aspect. Maybe the different camp levels go by the special crafting books.

Most POIs have a guided/assisted path that helps you through it and most of them have the mega loot room at the end, like a dungeon. This room usually has a decent amount of zombies and/or strong zombies guarding the mega loot.

i wouldn't waste time looting POI when spawning on the way to the trader (just open the mailboxes and loot the cars/cement mixers), but go directly pickup a clear/fetch quest from trader. the faster you get your first quests done the faster you get the bike. and at the same time you are looting the POI's from quest and getting the quest reward. pickup the chairs and plant pots in the beginning for easy resources to build the base. break paintings on the walls to discover safes you could crack later.

Plenty of tips and tricks, but I think it's more fun for you to discover them yourself. With one exception, you *will* want to use a landclaim block once you set up a base because it prevents zombie respawns in the bounded area and allows you to pick up workstations and other items you place. It's not a multiplayer only thing.

Not sure if you want to play stealthily, but that is a mechanic that this game has. You're more visible in the day than the night, and near light sources, especially if you're holding one. Even though zombies are faster at night, creeping from bush to bush makes it hard for them to detect you. Very useful for night looting!

As a LONG time 7Days player, first let me say I'm super excited to see you playing this! Now, for my beginner tips, always have a bow and plenty of arrows, even a crappy bow and stone arrows can get you out of a jam, and they keep you away from overreaching zombies. Two, invest in sneak damage and deep cuts and use your bone knife as your melee weapon. I can one or two hit a zombie in the head with a right click attack, and deep cuts causes them to bleed as well, so lots of times you can hit them and back off, and they'll bleed out. Sham sandwiches are safe, but only IF you take vitamins first. Just watch your health if you eat a whole stack of them. Sneaking (crouching) through a POI is very helpful early game, because you'll wake less zombies and be able to manage what comes at you better. Points in pack mule are unnecessary, since you can get pocket mods for armor and clothing that open inventory space. Save foods like corn, potatoes, blueberries, and pumpkins - recipes made with them give you WAY more food than eating them in a moment of weakness. Last big tip, put points into parkour as quickly as possible. Never breaking your legs and being able to jump up higher is SO invaluable! Keep this going, I can't wait to see where you go with it!

THE BIGGEST TIP I CAN GIVE is to constantly keep frame blocks on your bar. If you get backed into a room you can put a frame in the doorway and quickly upgrade it then you can open the doorway and kill the zombies easily. You can also use them to "nerd-pole" which i believe is a term that comes from minecraft in which you look down and jump and place them below you to pillar up onto rooftops and stuff like that
I don't think lucky looter is necessarily that bad for the time that you save when searching things. Also with a higher perception level you can get a good spear stat which is an absolutely insane weapon now in a21 (spears always sucked ass for the entirety of this game before this update)
Also, as far as the infection goes, i believe you have a higher chance of infection if you get hit multiple times. If you are at full or high health and you take one hit you wont be infected very often that way. If you get hit 2-3 times in a row then it will likely infect you. You also gain infection at a higher rate from the zombified animals like zombie birds which are more common in the desert
Speaking of different biomes, the biome you are in raises your loot stage. You can immediately go into the snow or the wasteland biomes and get better loot at level 1 but the zombies are much heftier and you have a higher chance of running into mountain lions and bears

7D2D Vet here with 2875 hours played. The best advice I can give is to not worry too much about how you're playing. If you mess up your skill points, just buy a forgetin elixir from the trader for a respec. Mess up your horde base, learn what went wrong and adapt. Min maxing is only for hardcore players who tend to play perma-death runs. Just play the way you want and enjoy the learning process.
In saying that, there are a lot of hidden things that are useful to know as you pointed out. Things to focus on early game would be finding a trader, doing trader jobs to complete tier 1 jobs (good reward) and getting a dew collector up and running for constant free water. If you're short on food or water, buy some from the vending machines found throughout the world (all traders have them too).

My thinking for why there are so many zombies in closets is simply when the outbreak happened and people were being attacked all over, some people in their final moments of defense hid in the closet to avoid being attacked further, but they had already been bitten and by the time the zombies left them alone, they had begun turning/turned and went into a "sleeper mode" until you show up and alert them.
Which also works with why there are so many random zombies in houses kicking around since the zombies that were initially attacking them gave up and wandered around the house until also entering a sleeper mode due to lack of food or a way out since you know....zombies are kind of dumb and can't work doors very well.

As a tip, look up the TH-camr Jawoodle He is a master at this game and has plenty of guides on base building for horde nights.
Otherwise when you make a home base make sure it has at least a 2nd floor. Take out any stairs that lead to the higher floors and along one wall open a hole in the floor of the 2nd floor(ceiling from the 1st floor) and make a ladder leading up to it making sure there is a 2 block gap from the floor to the first ladder. Zombies can climb ladders, but they can't if they would have to jump to the ladder. Then you will have relative safety living on the 2nd floor. Otherwise you would ideally want to live on the highest floor, higher the better to be outside of zombie detection range.

The LandClaimBlock is special. Primary purpose is multiplayer property protection. Secondary purpose is de-activates zombie respawns within the boundary (safe zone). BONUS FUNCTION: if you make a home out of a POI that can be "reset" via starting a quest marker, if the quest marker for your POI base is covered by LCB then the trader will no longer give you the option to take a quest at your base. Would suck to lose all your storage by resetting your home to the default state

You want to craft "Building Blocks" which we also like to call them "Frame Shapes" which look like plywood, but if you make a mistake, you can pick them back up, and when you right-click to upgrade the frame shapes to wood, *you get free experience points* that you don't get from just placing blocks down.

    Forgive the wall ;3;
I'm just going to leave tips I think of and post it at the end of the video, hopefully these help (no backseating intentional, just like my comment on the last video this game is ridiculous and you really need all the resources you can get)
    - I hugely recommend a UI mod (the one I use is now horribly out of date and not available ._. any on nexusmods will do and it's super easy to install), all it really does is add bars for food and water next to your health and stamina. That way you don't have to go into your character menu to see the number value of your food and water.
    - Around 16:00 you attract a zombie from outside. That could have been the other zombies, but the trash piles on the floor are traps. If you walk over them you'll hear cans rattling etc, and that is a noise that attracts zombies. You can break them in a couple smacks of your axe and it helps a lot with that.
    - Some items can always be safely scrapped like door knobs. In your case things like the spent bullet casings would probably be good to scrap for inventory space, they're super cheap when you actually need them.
    - Especially in solo play you want to find a defensible building asap. I like the two-story barn you're in at 1:20:16 There are guides on youtube for good (not cheesy) ways to convert them into a horde base (an area specifically for defending the 7day hordes) but I just also use the top as a regular base.
    - Doing jobs for the trader is way more important than you think. Every 7 successful jobs gets you a quest to visit another trader (you can always just come right back) and gives you a vehicle. I find the first one (trying not to spoil absolutely everything) to be a godsend, and the jobs send you to locations you'd already want to loot.
    - When doing a job, activating the quest marker (the big yellow !) resets the location. Try to explore a building first if you can and if it has containers that might drop loot you need, loot the place before doing the quest. At least with my settings the game is already tough enough on solo players it doesn't feel cheesy to double-loot (and given the lengths devs have gone to remove playstyles they just don't like, I'll take it as intended by the devs because it still exists).
    - They may have added a reason to read books multiple times in the new alpha, but generally if a book has a little open book icon in the upper left of its' icon (I know that's confusing, I'm sorry) it means you already read that one and it's better to sell those. Again this tip could be out of date.
    - Opening, closing, and fully emptying containers (so also when the ammo piles "poof") makes noise which attracts zombies. They will break down anything to get to you. Your little hut is nice, but the first time you open a chest or the campfire as a zombie pack walks by outside it's toast.
    - If you can pick up something useless like a chair, it's generally more loot to scrap it from your inventory. This stops being true if you need a different tool like using wrenches on office chairs for various mechanical pieces.
    - In line with the one above, if it reasonably would have loot in real life, it has it in the game. When you get a wrench it wouldn't hurt to go mechanic-klepto on every TV and appliance in a house as you go through them. Try shovels on the cubic canvas bags (the blue ones you find in construction-y areas). There's always a tool that will break something faster and usually has a different, better loot table for it.

Been absolutely loving the 7D2D videos! Just another quick tip or two: loot resets every so often but won't reset unless everything has been looted from its container, so make sure to loot everything from its container or if no space, drop it on the floor!
Also when looting buildings, sometimes there are lights that show the way to the main loot, follow the light!
Love to see more out of this game from my favourite streamer, it's a gem❤️

  • @niysiah7623
    @niysiah7623 ปีที่แล้ว

The claim block is not for multiplayer only, when it placed it keeps zombies, loot and any changes you've made from being reset in a location, after a certain amount of days (30 days by default) the game automatically resets so you can loot houses again, fixing changes you've made to walls and such, resetting spawning loot boxes and putting back zombie spawns.. if your claim block is placed in a house you intend to make a base in, it stops this from happening, sooo if you add your own storages or workbenches they will all be wiped because you didn't claim the land. land claim blocks also prevent trader missions from spawning at your base which also resets everything when you start them.

  • @jvhotblast2706
    @jvhotblast2706 ปีที่แล้ว

I know you don't like spoilers, but I can explain what the game stage is below:
Basically the game stage is like the difficulty of the area you are in. A higher game stage comes from either being on a later day, in certain POI's or in harder environment (like wasteland for example). If you want easy, lower is better. If you want to get the best loot, higher is better. In your character information page of your inventory there is a way to see your loot level, which increases with your game stage as well as certain gear, perks and items.

I've played about 900 hours of 7d2d in total. It has its flaws and is quite dated, but its a one of a kind and isn't bad -- comparing it to other zombie crafting games. Despite it still being in an alpha state and the meme's provided, I've had it since the game first released, play it often, and have played on different difficulties with high success. The main objective is to use your time wisely and build up yourself early. I use a temporary base until I have enough skill points to harvest and build an ideal base -- however, the best experience with this game is to have a team as they can specialize in other skills, while you're able to focus on what you'll enjoy. The first horde night isn't that bad compared to day 21 and above. Higher game stages will bring you massive destruction because of the *type* of zombies that spawn. Here are my suggestions:
1.-Complete the starter quest when you start the game. You'll obtain 4 skill points when finished and it only takes about 5 minutes to complete AND you get a GPS mark for a trader on your map.
2a.-Complete as many trader quests as you can to obtain the in game currency (dukes) and experience. There are more than 1 trader in the game and each one offers different stuff. Once you have completed a few quests, you'll get (spoiler): The option to obtain a bike. Crucial items will give you an advantage. The quests tiers will increase, thus once completing quests, each tier offers better rewards and exp. Spending talents in the Intellect tree for bartering is very good early and expendable late game. Higher barter influence provides you more stuff to buy in their shops.
2b.-The traders offer a water filter which is used to make a dew collector and provides dirty water. You can then sterilize the water in a campfire, thus solving the dehydration problem. The water filter can be found in other places, but this is the easiest way to obtain it. Some foods found in the game can be combined together if you find the recipes for it, and gives more food and other benefits. This is useful because you'll go hungry often.
3.-Brass is your friend. You'll need a lot of ammunition.
4.-Making a bone knife early and using the right click bleed ability is fairly strong, even at crude tier. It uses less stamina and does decent damage, which can allow you to kite zombies and apply bleed.
5.-The A.I. isn't very smart and can easily be exploited. High places with advantage allow you to aim for the heads of the zombies, which does the most amount of damage. This is great for horde nights. Try luring zombies to an area where you're able to shoot from above, because if the zombies run at you it's practically impossible to be in melee distance due to the zombies applying stun and other harsh effects. Late game is basically suicide on hard difficulties.
6.-Take time to understand the mechanics of the game so you know what's more efficient. For an example, there shouldn't be more than one person doing the same thing. Crafting skill trees can significantly decrease the amount of time and resources required to craft items, and gives you more time to prepare and scavenge.
7.-Be smart and engineer different structures with defenses and build lots and lots of traps.

You can build Storage Boxes & keep them at your fort. I have found bottles of water in the back of the toilet tank. LOL

How to know where to go: Let the quests guide you. The traders send you around to other traders. There's a natural progression through the 5 biomes, although obviously it's a sandbox game so you can ultimately go where you want.

Some tips from someone with 500 hours. Also you did good homework already learning the new systems!
Turn boiled water in to red tea. Better hydration, stamina boost, and digestion boost. It just takes water and chrysanthemum flowers which are everywhere
Break down stacked firewood at POIs, far more wood than cutting down a tree.
After 10 quests with a trader, they will offer you a Bicycle.
In your free time, if you haven't already, hop in creative mode and hit "U" to browse the games insane number of items just to see.
Collect eggs from birds nests always. An easy early game meal is bacon and eggs: meat, egg, fat.
Check canned food by left clicking. If the word "recipes" is there, it can be used in better foods. If it just says use or drop, eat it without wasting a future recipe. (Unless you're hungry)
If all you have is a sham sandwich, make a goldenrod tea with gold flowers and water. That will get rid of dysentery after eating.
Pipe pistol, rifle, and shotgun are almost useless due to reload time. The baton makes a good substitute for the club IF you want to focus on intelligence tree instead of strength. The machine gun is good in a pinch without skills in it as a backup emergency weapon.
When you get to a POI they all have "intended" paths through them. Follow light sources to find entrances and where to go next. (Obviously optional since you can just bust down walls etc, but it's fun to see how ppl made the levels intentionally.

You missed finding “Grace” in that house that everyone warned you from going into. :) there is a loot room in the basement, and there is an additional exciting new friend to make. 😂

If you take vitamins just before the bloodmoon it will give you 10mins real time protection from infection. Means you can save on your honey as vitamins are more common than antibiotics.

As a person whose played hours upon hours on this game. We played recently, even if you think lucky looter is terrible, its actually really good. Sadly, we all think it needs to be taken out, because we all get it. Its too good to pass up. As a new player I would say don't worry about it, but for our group, we all get it. I think it should be some type of book or somehow built in the game for all players. Doesn't give a very good variety builds because we're all getting it.

I remember playing this game when it first came out and thought it was terrible but right now it is the best zombie survival game ever made. It still needs more content but that is in the works and what is also great is there are so many mods that change the game. The only problem I have with the game is after a set amount of time the game becomes boring and sure it takes a long time to get to being boring but it needs things to do to keep you playing and when they have that it will be amazing.

You got yourself a new subscriber - I love this game and have been playing it for more than 8 years. I’ve gotten more than my moneys worth.
PS punching rocks is a pain free way to collect stone in the early stages. Go ahead and knock yourself out.

Also a veteran player, and lucky looter, is bad at the start for loot quality, but the looting speed is very good still.
Carry capacity perks are 100% worth it early on,(if you going strength) Just drink an elixer to refund your points once you're at the point you can get full inventory with mods

iam just at 49:12 but if you like to loot a lot you can loot the area BEFORE activate the event (the yellow thing) and if you loot everything, start the quest and everything will be rested (so you get double loot) :) (but it is different, so it is not the same loot)
and if you like to give headshots, you can also skill stuff to have a higher chance on getting headshots
1:01:21 you shouldnt always do the right click. It is going faster, but it costs tons of stamina. If you loot them with leftclick, you will not lose stamina or soooo little that you dont even realize it. The same with the Weapons. Right click does more dmg but costs more stamina. Left click is kinda the "quicker" attack which costs less stamina but have a little bit less dmg.
