    Thanks a lot for sharing the information. I was working on GeoHECRAS and this really helped!

    Hello, I was watching your video and it’s very informative. I am wondering if you have any other video for Flood Impact Analysis, such as HEC FIA? Thanks,

    just wanted to ask do we have to import subbasins which were generated in hechms, in hecras and then do we need to define boundary condition for each subbasin separately or do we have to create a single 2d flow area perimeter for all the subbasins as whole, for 2D flood modeling? as we'll be using outputs from hechms which were generated for each subbasin

    Hello Users, I just need some insights on Breaklines.
    I have added breaklines into the 2d mesh area and enforced them as internal connections and entered weir data as top spillway elevation at 700m to the connections assuming they are acting as Embankments/weirs to the reservoir.
    But After I ran the Unsteady flow model successfully, in the results section in the RAS Mapper Water still flowing over the embankments at 653.55 only without filling the reservoir up to 700m elevation.
    What Should I do?
    Thank you in Advance

    great explanation. but I have a question, why Up1, Up2, and Up3 have the same hydrograph values? every inlet should have their won specific values as I think?

    • @OmarMagdyNofal
      @OmarMagdyNofal  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This just an example, not real values for simulation! However, for this study area, only one hydrograph for the northwest upstream was available.

    Amazing Effort Omar.
    i would like to ask you one thing is that what about land use and land cove or Mannings value in 2D modeling?
    If we ignore to add the land use data and mannings n value, is is validate?

    • @OmarMagdyNofal
      @OmarMagdyNofal  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You consider these factors during the hydrologic analysis, not the hydrodynamic analysis. So, these factors including land use, soil, etc affected the discharge. Then the roughness affects the velocity during the hydrodynamic analysis.

    I am modeling flood mapping ,I create my location point from google earth as Kml format and then I create dem in gis as *'adf format not tiff, ( because I didn't know how I can convert that to tiff and I want they maintain elevation ) when I import dem file to rasmapper, when I define terrain to hecras and upload my dem from gis, they aren't loaded into hecras and error is appeared. How can I solve this problem? How can I convert my point location from google earth to rasmapper .

    • @OmarMagdyNofal
      @OmarMagdyNofal  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      why you did not directly download the DEm online?

    • @siminakhlaghi5466
      @siminakhlaghi5466 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OmarMagdyNofal because sometimes I need a location which its dem is not available, or I want that with more accuraty. And sometimes u may have cad contour, therefore I need to create dem as tiff.

    Are you serious, you are telling her that landcover is included in DEM, you will need to creat a landcover layer using the roughness shapefiles.

    • @OmarMagdyNofal

      Himayoon Naik how? At which minute?

    • @ninamack9755
      @ninamack9755 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@OmarMagdyNofal Right around minute 42, she asks if HEC-RAS takes land cover (e.g. surface roughness) into account, and you refer back to the DEM. But the DEM only includes surface topology, not actual surface roughness of different land use types.

    hi Omar,
    I must say your video is very useful to me. But here i'm having some trouble regarding .prj & .shp file. As i have shown in your video you directly import that file from your saved folder. I just have to know how to CREATE this 2 Files. Is there any useful handy software to create?? Pls let me know the process asap as i'm having this stuff as my project.
    Thanks
