Just a quick hello from an Ecos system user from the U.K, these videos are great. Every time I watch them I learn something new. Thanks. Eugene...

Nice .you have covered it all....I personally use the thrid method as it's the easyist...
In consist I also Taylor the speed of one chip if one dcc chip is out of cyncronizeation with the other so not to stress the other chip, motor and coupling on the other loco.

Heya, do you know if there is a way to co sist the locos together so they can be coupled together and use their own dcc sounds, along with being able to uncouple them and make them run on different numbers without having to keep changing their numbers? If you've covered it please tell me which consist it is I need to watch. Thanks.

    Hello Esu!
I'm using the Lokprogrammer and a Multimaus. I've tried consisting and it works great. However, I think the entire point is for each locomotive to have it's ordinary address AND the consist address, WITHOUT the need to tick the consist address box in the Lokprogrammer. I would like to drive locomotive 1 and 2 separately with their ordinary address and locomotive 1+2 with the consist address. If that's possible, how do I make it work?

Nothing beats my ESU Ecos!!! NO digitrax or NCE. Both in my opinion primitive equipment. Practically prehistoric when compared tro the Ecos 50210... 💖

Could you show this with a Digitrax system? I dont have the Ecos.

would love to see a speed matching video using the EcoS as a base to do the CV changes

Dear sir, how to consist with two different brand or different speedstep locomotive?

Hi ESU. Some American DCC systems more cheap are able to setup the advanced consist automatically in main track. This type of consist is better for who use manual notching in diesel locomotives with functions configured in CVs 21 and 22. Maybe ECOS could offer this feature in a future firmware update?

Hi Marcelo, Even in those cases the system is actually writing CVs in the decoder. this can cause other problems because of the it is done. In these systems it is a cross between Advanced consisting and command station consisting. There are pros and cons to this set up. In our opinion it is best to use actual Advanced Consisting setting CV 21 and 22 manually or even more easily with the LokProgrammer.

What if you have created a Consist but then while using it, hit Release Controller. Mine has disappeared, but the 2 locos are still in Multi/Consist mode and I can't find where to Delete the consist to regain individual control of each loco!

When you created the consist you created a name for it. Under the Loco list (select a new loco) it will be there just like a single loco. Simply select it, then delete it. It will separate the locos when deleted.

Hi. Thanks for the info but it does not seem to be there. If I select either of the individual locos, back on the main screen MULTI is clearly shown, for either of them, but no "consist" name is in any of the Loco categories in the loco selection.I'll admit this is quite frustrating as I don't want to delete either one of the locos as they have all the symbols for the sounds and other settings made...

    • @chrislef2002

I have now deleted one of the 2 locos completly in the hopes the problem would be fixed, BUT no. The other loco still has the MULTI symbol displayed with the speedometer. So it is not possible to reassign it to a new consist. There must be another place to delete this!. Note I did Not give a specific name to the original consist I had created so it would just be the generic name Ecos assigns... -Chris

Did you check ALL of the loco lists? This is also a good reason to be sure you DO add a name to the consist. This way you can find it easier later. If you only have 2 locos in the system it should not take too long to set up again. If they are ESU RailCom Plus equipped locos they will even auto-register with the Icons coming back in again. If the loco is showing in a consist, and the consist has not been deleted. It is there somewhere. Please, again, be sure to check all the loco lists. Steam, Diesel, Electric, sort by # and alphabetically.

I've checked all lists again and again. These 2 locos both have lokSound Select. If you recommend deleting them, please advise what to Activate re. your RailCom plus comment and do I have to put on Programming Track or anywhere on layout?

Nice Video As others have Said: But everyone can't afford one of these Very Nice Controllers Me being one of those Persons, but I was Able to Get A KATO N Scale Sound Engine the SDP40F Santa Fe #5250 This Engine has A Lok Sound Decoder and I'm using a NCE Power Cab A very Nice & Simple made Controller made in the Good ole USA.. What I'm asking here is Can you All make a Consisting Video: With an Engine using a Lok Sound Decoder & Engine that's using Non Sound Decoder Like a TCS Decoder.. The reason for this I would like to know if you can consist with a sound Decoder and a Non sound Decoder. And are there any special setting other than What NCE Describes in there Manual.. My Santa Fe Engine was Programmed at KATO's Kobo shops With the Road #5250.. And although I could change it to 3 and program the Non sound Decoder Engine to 3 I'd Rather leave it where KATO had it set up.. So can this Engine using the NCE Power Cab be programmed using Advanced Mode with the Road # 5250 & the Non sound Engine my KATO 70 Ace 9394 in a Consist.. Hopefully what I'm asking isn't allot But. I'd Rather ask and see it performed in one of your Videos before I jump into some uncharted Water and Ruin both Engines.. Please if you can Respond Soon. Thanks So much and Hopefully SOME Day I can get one of your Controllers.. to Go with my KATO Engine..

The User Manual may make sense to someone who is already very knowledgeable about the equipment, but much of it makes no sense to me as a novice. Essential information is left out and important things are left unexplained. The User Manuals need to be written by professional writers not the engineers. And instructions should be written by native speakers of the language. Then try them out by giving someone with no prior knowledge or expertise the equipment and the instructions and an hour to get it all working, locomotives programmed in etc. If they can't manage it then rewrite the instructions.

I know this is Ecos Locomotive Consisting video, but I am frustrated as to why few DCC companies use the NMRA terms for the same types of consisting. Everyone needs to re-invent the terminology wheel which leads to confusion when people work with different DCC systems or talk to those that have other DCC systems. To see the degree of terminology confusion, check out my table of consisting terms vs manufacture.
    sites.google.com/site/markgurries/home/technical-discussions/consisting-information/consisting-term-confusion
Only the "Advanced Consisting" term seems to be the least confusing term but its not perfect too.
