Genuinely curious on everyone's thoughts on the Saucony Endorphin Elite - drop em in the comments! And don't forget to join the GR Crew for further gear discussions and an awesome global running community: patreon.com/thegingerrunner
It's personally my preference over the Alphafly! I have both in my bathroom ready to roll for my run tomorrow, and I would go Endorphin Elite just about every time.
I have the Vapourfly 2 which I wear for races great in a straight line but unstable going round the corners, bought the Elite’s , fit better, feel quicker, and corners are not a problem a very stable shoe, yes they’re expensive but I’ve got PB’s all yr . wearing them , and they look awesome , just save up and buy them.
Great to have you back, Ethan! Awesome review! I won't be picking them up, I'm a slow, easy mile kinda guy and I do not run to shave a second of my 5K time, it's not where the joy comes for me.
YES!! Welcome back. Been refreshing TH-cam every day. I like the new graphics and sound effects you’ve added to your reviews. I was excited for this shoe, but I think it’s too much shoe for me. Waiting for the Pro 3 price drop as that’s my target carbon racer right now. I thought Saucony killed it last year. It will be really interesting to see how (if?) the Endorphin line evolves this year with the HG midsole and where they go with the Speed 4 and Pro 4.
I volunteered at the Osaka Marathon last weekend and saw no one wearing this shoe, though of course I couldn't keep track of everyone and Saucony even close to being a major brand (only distributed by a chain store maybe the equivalent of Foot Locker, and it looks to be only available by import shops for about double the US price). For the record, at the marathon the women's podium was Puma > Nike > Asics, and the men's was Asics > Nike > Adidas.
Missed your entertaining reviews, glad to see you back! I’ll be happy once the shoe trend shifts back to lower stacks as being normal. Over-hype and marketing for High stack, squish, and plates caused me some very odd injuries over the past 6 months- granted I do not have elite form and no self control when using fast feeling shoes ( so that may not have helped) but for my mechanics most of the super shoes or high stack just don’t work long term.
One detail about the price, the endorphin pro 3 only rated for about 100 miles, while this one is rated for about 200 I think. That means I should be able to use it twice as long, and making it an ultimately better value.
I would definitely (maybe) probably buy a Speedland before I bought these elites. I know 275 is a lot, but with the speedland i think I could definitely get 2-3 Trail seasons out of that. With this Saucony ..maybe three marathon tops ?? 🤷♂️
Nice input on these, man. I got my pair this week and I'm largely unimpressed. I can see where Saucony could really be onto something with this HG foam, but that upper is just too plasticky and actually painful in places. I REALLY hope that Saucony will pair this HG foam with the upper of the Endo Pro 3 for the upcoming Endo Pro 4.
@@duanesidney9761 Well, the prototype is looking to be all HG but there are rumors that final version will be two layers with one layer in PB and another layer HG. I guess, we will wait and see. I don't have insider knowledge. I am just commenting on what I see.
If this is for those 5 min/mile people, what would you recommend for making the foot fatigue less for a 200lb man? I was eyeballing the endophin speed 4. Need more cushion under the base of the first and second toes also.
At my age and stage of my running life I won't even think about paying this much for a racing shoe (even more expensive here in the UK!). But even if I was still a serious competitive runner I would think several times about paying a huge amount for a racing shoe - as hoe you will spend a small fraction of your running time. Pay the big money for the shoe you run in for mile after mile in training. These are surely the most important shoes you buy? Anything light and comfortable will carry you through the race - provided you have put in the miles in training - which is where the shoes come in ...
Great video, thanks! Is the sole built into the shoe like the Endorphin Pro 3? I wear orthotics and pulled the sole out of the Endorphin Pro 1 but couldn't do that with the Endorphin Pro 3.
I think it is probably too "Elite" for me for me to try and risky proposition at that price point. I am not sure of HG foam comfort for 26 miles and I really didn't like the upper. Endorphin Pro 4 leaked pictures show HG foam so I think I might wait until Pro 4 to try. Meanwhile, I think Mizuno is up to something special with Rebellion Pro. I might get that for racing marathon after my Alphafly 1 is retired from racing.
Got both the Endorphin Elite and the Wave Rebellion Pro and I would say that the Endorphin Elite feels more comfortable and allows you to back off to goal MP easier than the Wave Rebellion Pro which is very aggressive (frightens me to think of taking that one past Half distance). That's coming from someone far from elite standards, a 49 year old with best recent times of 87 minutes for a Half and 3:20 for Marathon. Think a lot of this it's for elites only comes from the OTT pricing. I picked up the Endorphin Elite for £238 (still a lot of money but made more palatable by picking up the Wave Rebellion Pro for £169).
Too Super for me and I am a Saucony fan. The Endorphin Pro 3 is my favourite shoe but this is a bit much for me. Why do they feel the need to create these gawd awful colours....🇨🇦
Seen people below Sub elite level benefitting from it already. Depends upon running style whether you will benefit from this shoe, not so much on being to run at a certain pace. If there is any truth in the pace thing then lets just say it works for people a fair bit slower than Sub elite level. Some people will benefit from it and some won't (as with any shoe). It's getting a raw deal in most reviews mostly based on it's price.

I’m a Saucony fanboy…but that price is riiiiiiiiiiiiiiidiculous.
This review solidifies why you’re the OG. Brutal honesty but respectful at the same time.
Much appreciated!
Burrata margarita pizza party... 🤣🙌🍕🤤 Digging the new graphics, music and flow! 🥳
Taunting me with the speedgoat evo in the background, my one true love ♥️
Glad your back reviewing road shoes again. Thought for a moment you were only reviewing trail shoes.
It's personally my preference over the Alphafly! I have both in my bathroom ready to roll for my run tomorrow, and I would go Endorphin Elite just about every time.
same here! Im going to get another pair tommorow 💯
New intro music that kicks ass…I see you

We're back, baby! Love the new vibe and markers!
I'm stoked to get a pair
when version 2 comes out and these are $100.
Nailed it
That's my new go to strategy when buying top of the line running shoes. I've got 2 alphafly for a little over $100 each.
😂
Love this comment!

Can't waaaaait to see a review about the Aspics Trabuco Max 2! Love ya!
That side view gave me Nike Air Huarache vibes, flashback to my favourite 90s trainers.
Most people say its great but they prefer and will reach for the pro3.
Bright colored shoes are faster because the colors are lighter.
Logic checks out!
I run half marathons and waited for the pro 3 to be discounted… finally got my pair for 25% off thanks to the release of the Elite 😊
That’s a good snag!
Where did you get thr discounted shoes?

It's not like you can't get lower stack shoes? Why don't you just go with them?
@@madsolesen2883 I do, but I’m old and would rather complain about everything first
I would like to see the torrent 3 in one of your trail tested episodes.
Dang...I just took out a 2nd mortgage for the Alphafly. I consider Boston (Waltham) my 2nd home. Saucony and I go way back.
When are we getting the speedland review?
I had such a hard time with the original, I couldn’t justify a review. But hoping to get my hands on a pair of the Tams!
Seems like way too much shoe for me as well. I can’t imagine needing more than the pro 3
🤯 bright shoes = speed! time to throw the training program in the bin
my dream shoe!!! 😍 😍😍
Any chance for a review of the Topo Cyclone 2?!? Shoe looks incredible..for a Topo
Bro, some say that carbon plated race shoes are better than daily trainers even for easy run. Any thoughts on that?

Totally agree
Leaked pics of Pro 4 indicate they will use HG on Pro 4.

With $275 I can probably buy 2 pairs of vaporfly's in today's market
And alphaflys, 1st one. I bought my pair for 134 and then swapped a saucony for another pair
Yup, this is true!
Great video, thanks!
Is the sole built into the shoe like the Endorphin Pro 3? I wear orthotics and pulled the sole out of the Endorphin Pro 1 but couldn't do that with the Endorphin Pro 3.
The insole on the Pro 3 comes out, it's very lightly glued - I changed insoles on my pair for a while
It’s a great shoe!
Can I just say that I appreciate you didn’t do the dumb wooden box-unboxing thing? Sooooo cringey.
Yeah the excess waste that went into that PR packaging was so unnecessary.

Why don’t you film weekly runs and upload? Or races? Miss following you…
I’ve been enjoying camera free running for awhile :) Last video was a run, and Trail Tested is reviews + runs!
At usd167 is it worth it?
Mid packer?? C’mon!! Haha

Tried it and it’s terrible compared to the vaporfly
Why? I run all my marathons with Vaporflys so I'm just interested why you think they are better than these?
@@toni194 the foam is way bouncier in the vaporfly imo.
Does bouncier always mean better?
I have the shoe and 95% of runners wont benefit from it. This shoe is for elite and sub elite runners
