Tough one to scratch, and I really appreciate the deep dive, I learned a lot. I have to say, "I spread like strawberries / I climb like peas and beans" is my favorite lyric on the album! The imagery is so creative and vibrant. If I had to, I'd scratch "Rack of His." I think for a similar reason to "Drumset" - it just feels less emotionally urgent than the rest of the album.
This album is such a great fusion of jazz, pop, folk and punk. Such an idiosyncratic, raw but complex work that deserves the heaps of praise it’s gotten. If I had to “scratch” one track it’d be “Ladies”. It’s a chill, cute and unique song. But it slightly slows down the momentum of the album and breaks the tension after the weird fury of “Newspaper”. I do like the song, but it’s the odd duck compared to the rest. I’ve grown to really like “Drumset”, a quick, catchy, impassioned song. I would have made “For Her” the penultimate song on the album though. “Newspaper”, “Shameika”, “For Her”, “On I Go”, “Relay” and “Heavy Balloon” are probably my favorites. I feel like the ending of “I Want You To Love Me” represents how strange and evolving the rest of the songs are. Without that ending it’s a nice, pretty opening track. With that ending it becomes an appropriate introduction to the contradictory emotions, unpredictable vibe and darks elements of the rest of the album. Anyways, a great album, and this was a fun and insightful podcast. Also, the Cole Porter song is “Anything Goes”.
It is an exceptional album and so interesting that it is connected to quarantine. I need to listen to it again very soon!! Do you have a favorite of hers?

John Johnson thanks for the great insight and comment. Thanks for playing and Happy Scratching!!!!
The rawness of this album just adds to it... It's a quarantine album. It has that much more substance because of it.
