    This is extremely helpful as the closest sighted person for a blind neighbor. I will be trying to introduce her to many of these tools. Thank you.

    Small tip for Samsung users regarding apps with no dark theme (something similar may be possible with iOS using Shortcuts or whatever it's called, but I don't use Apple stuff).
    Using Modes and Routines create a routine that goes IF app opened (pick apps that don't support dark mode like Amazon and Uber), THEN invert colour.and make sure it's set to auto reverse.
    If you are a little more advanced and use GoodLock you can download the Routines+ module and set double and long presses of volume up or down to do whatever you want, and have specific apps open when you unlock with a specific fingerprint (I have Lookout on my right index and SeeingAI on my right middle, for example.)

      Those are super neat shortcuts! I love it! I wish pixel had that. :/

    I have been playing with the new customization features on iOS 18 that just came out. I know that its not an app but I can now open seeing AI from my lockscreen when I have my O and M focus on which is god tier to me. Aside from that. I would put the script talk app, NFB newline (which is coming to android later this year) and the new safari. They added a new reader mode that can inverse the text color. You also now have the option to have siri read you the page without turning on your screen reader. For me, that is goals. Granted I can pass as sighted very easily.

    • @carrieonaccessibility
      @carrieonaccessibility  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's neat! I did not know that the NFB newsline app would ever come to android. haha. My pharmacy doesn't work with script talk, but those are awesome ones! Thanks for sharing them. (I also love that Siri can now read pages aloud, too!)

    • @BlindZubat
      @BlindZubat 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@carrieonaccessibility I am very new to newsline. So far, I am shocked. They have my local paper and I live in the middle of nowhere.
      As for scripttalk, yeah. I get that. The only pharmacy around me that has it is located half an hour away. I live in the middle of nowhere though so for me, that is actually a reasonable move. I see why a lot of people don't though. Most places dont seem to have it. Or don't seem interested in offering it. That is a whole tangent though...
      That aside. I'm a new viewer and am really enjoying you videos!

    • @carrieonaccessibility
      @carrieonaccessibility  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I'm hoping that the app is good and that I can listen in the background! Multitasking is what I always do.

    • @BlindZubat
      @BlindZubat 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@carrieonaccessibility That would be cool. I dont think the apple version lets you do that. Everything I have used required me to use voice over to read. Granted I have only been checking my local paper which Is from a small city.

    Be my AI can also read Twitter screenshots. You’ll have to click share and then more if your regular applications don’t pop up. If you keep flicking to the right, you will eventually hear Voiceover or talk back say describe with Be My Eyes. It will then take a picture of the Post and send it to the chat bot. It will tell you who was the original poster, what the picture says, and then you will be able to ask follow up questions down in the text field.

    Lyft has been my go to rideshare as it is usually a little less expensive tban Uber where I live. Uber is useful when I need to take my cat to the vet because of the Uber Pet choice. But you are correct about text being cut off with larger fonts, so I reset font sisize and use a magnifying glass to make sure of the right selection. It would be nice if they had a more accessible interface.
