This sadly misses the majority of reasons that modern day pros are better than the typical amateur, which is simply they have studied extensively and understand gto and understand what spots are over and underbluffed. "The magic" part of poker is so minimal as any online player knows.
The typical amateur would go on tilt after losing a few big pots or getting coolered. The pro also gets coolered and loses pots but has an unbreakable mindset to know deep down that their strategy is still profitable despite getting destroyed on the tables. That is what I'm aspiring to do, but it's so difficult. It's an everyday process. Poker humbles everybody. Maybe that's why a lot of high stakes pros are really good guys that willingly share their knowledge with others
@@caioelvas7767lol then you should know than he’s wrong and you should focus your play in a exploit way against fishes, more than GTO, GTO is mean to not be exploited so in terms only competent players
Not all poker pros are created equal. In saying this, I mean... Many "live" players have learned to control their movements (hand, eye, breathing, and other visible "tells") to keep from giving away critical information other players are looking for. When an online player makes his/her way into the "live" sessions, they often have to learn that poker is more than just making decisions based on game play. In some situations the player is just playing the player and not the cards. This is more true in "live" situations vs. online. Another factor is emotional control. Even some of the pros go thru emotions that can spiral out of control. This is usually when a player reaches "tilt" and usually ditches their "normal" playing patterns. Even a pro can reach a point where they are just not at peak performance and it's time to leave the tables. The better the pro the least likely this happens but it still does happen. Even the best!
6:55 it doesn't matter if Alex shows emotion on the river after someone raises because his only action is really to call or fold so giving away emotional clues doesn't give the opponent any actionable information. Also this is a pretty standard fold, no read needed.
Yes. Polar opposites to approach as well. Daniel doesn't shut up fishing for information, and Phil is quiet, stoic, and intimidating. That would be a good watch. A real high stakes game as well. That would be the best indication of physical stressors.
The easy way to know whether to bluff or not is based on the opponent’s actions. What’s their bet size? Did they check the previous round? Most amateurs give away the strength of their hands by their actions, so they open themselves to be attacked by demonstrating they have medium strength hands.
Exactly. Poker is not a card game, it is a Betting game that sometimes uses cards to decide the winner of the pot. If there's nothing on the line, then there is no game!
When we talk about stress in Poker I think about the final 3 Tables spots in big tournaments. My heart beat then constantly very fast even when Iam not in a Hand. Often it’s than already 6-7 hrs ( online) of Play so it’s not only money on the line also a lot of Time
I have noticed this to be true with some players... The very good tournament players are not that good at cash games and the very good cash players are not that good at tournaments.
Online poker is utterly pointless because there is way too much luck involved. A much better way to wager money would be playing a video game competitively. Even though you have to deal with cheaters at least there is actually skill involved.
If you like and understand poker, you probably won’t like this video. Very poor explanations of the hands actually played, making it unclear of the real science this video is trying to portray
This experiment is meaningless if the stakes are minimal & they aren't playing for much. They should do this in the 10K Main Event in Vegas then it will be real data they can analyze.
Poker is not a "sport" as was suggested in this film. It is a very serious pass time and game hobby, and is gambling. Sport! What? not unless you are running the 100 metres sprint while playing poker, I think not.
poker players even pros don't do all these complex calculations on the fly - there simply isn't enough time for it - most of it is just gut instinct, don't paint poker players as superhumans, please
Pocket pair of sevens on a queen jack ace board isn’t much reading the person fold its more how in the hell is it possible im still good here. Most people just fold to a bet without even trying to read someone.
If I’m betting my fake AE86 I wouldn’t bet it unless the other person just purposely throw because just like me it’s chaos where somebody pop off their combos. I just feel lucky winning a couple hands. If I did miracle fucked myself on the AE86 I would cash out
Its justt logical thinking and observing what kind of range which opponents opens and cutting off possible logical combinations by each street. Its way ougher and almost impossible to do so vs complete amateur wihout any strategy.
I've played poker for over 23 yrs, over 500 but closer to 1000 live medium sized field tournaments with a profitable R.O.I,and WAY over 1000 online tournaments..I took a break from live games due to health for 3 yrs,on Tuesday I went and played a small field tournament in town for the first time against 20 amateur ppl I didn't know and won.Its my abundance of hands played through the years, knowing percentages, odds, and experience ,not lucky I won, just lucky I didn't lose from getting unlucky.its the inverse at 70% skill 30% luck.tell me why then it's always the better players making the money, final tables and with a higher R.O.I...Are they just lucky? I'd say no.
This sadly misses the majority of reasons that modern day pros are better than the typical amateur, which is simply they have studied extensively and understand gto and understand what spots are over and underbluffed. "The magic" part of poker is so minimal as any online player knows.
This is just a BS video of non poker player talking about poker
im a professional poker player and you are 100% correct
They just reviewing concept . I play on a certain level and this only applies to in person play I would say.

you should call phil ivey and daniel negreanu
Yes. Polar opposites to approach as well. Daniel doesn't shut up fishing for information, and Phil is quiet, stoic, and intimidating. That would be a good watch. A real high stakes game as well. That would be the best indication of physical stressors.
“Sir, we can’t afford Phil Ivey.” “Ok, we’ll just use a mannequin.”
Haha nice
Slight correction referring to the definition of "Bad Beat", A stronger hand beaten by a weaker hand. Always hurts more on the river!
Wahouuu c’était génial!!! Merci 👍
Davidi magnifique mm ds la défaite 😘
Je suis nouveau t’es vidéo sont trop bien! J’adore ceci!!!!

Très bonne vidéo, merci 😊
This is BS there is no stress at all when you're not playing for a prize.
Not true, the professionals played for reputation and lost.
There's always a certain amount of stress playing poker as in any agonistic activity
You're not getting it.
Exactly. Poker is not a card game, it is a Betting game that sometimes uses cards to decide the winner of the pot. If there's nothing on the line, then there is no game!
Are they not playing a cash game?
23:53 maybe you should mention thats it is not necessarily a mistake to call here for baumann. It can me too good of a hand to fold mathematically

@@Pierre909 That must be right. This documentary came out in 2017.

It’s a game, not a sport.
I agree
you guys should study my brain i have no short term memory at all at 53

If it's not their own real money non of this matters and you can't get an honest response.... but it's good TV
They can't beat bad luck.
they should call hellmuth and tony g
They should have got Hellmuth and tested to find where his white magic comes from

The other thing is we study body language as we and i know what to show you to misslead you :D
well big variable is size of the game, playing for "research" chips is hardly exciting, best stress test is playing with the "rent money"...

Don't watch just dumb when your not playing for big money,
Alex lunneau le "AlexonMoon" il avait pas pris sa retraite ?
la vidéo a plus de 10 ans.....
Daniel Negranu is a computer in a humans body. I have watched him call out hands from other pros.

la vacuité de ce reportage
Davidi Kitai
Vraiment n'importe quoi
It's boring.
rubbish
This proves poker is 70% luck and only 30% skill.
So if an expert plays versus a total beginner, he has about 30% edge.
That's HUUUUGE.
Play 100k hands againts a pro player you will never win
