I'm French and I worked in Russia before the war, 17 years ago and I remember that the context of work was very different from the rest of Europe. The working pace was very slow, I would say lazy. Conversation were frequently about vodka. The general ambience was defeatist. Maybe it was a continuation of the sovietic era. By comparison, (because they were living under the sovietic system) in Poland, the working ambience was very difference with a feeling of hope and with strong energy to catch up the standards of living of Western Europe. To conclude, I would say that the Russian future is now the misery.

Some time ago a Canadian couple who moved to Russia had to publicly apologize because they dared to say that they didn't like something in this free country. Well, there are always other countries... I heard that North Korea is beautiful this time of year...

If you're about the Canadian couple with 10 kinds who is building the house now then you lie. They never opoligized for something they said which is forbidable, nobody asked them, the guy just mistaked some thing and apoligized to the viewrs for the missleading which is totally normal thing among any sane people, I apologize in front of my friends when I mistake something important, and the guy has 100+k subscribers.
A lot of western channels lied about the family, lied about their time in Russia and you one of those who bought the bullshit. Pity.

2 comments given for the comments section but none have stayed, they've been taken off.
An empty comments section at the time of my post.
    Maybe mine will stay.
This is obviously a propaganda piece for whatever reason has been given.
Are you implying Russia is a democracy?
You raise the subject but go nowhere with it.
    As I was saying.

Hey! Thanks for your comment. No propaganda here (I hope). I love Russia as a country/ culture/ friends. The government is a subject I can't discuss on social media for reasons I stated at the end of the video. However, if it serves in any way, I have no sympathy or alignment with their actions in most cases. Cheers!

What I saw was a paid video, or was it a demonstration piece?

Russian talking points basically. West 'woke', therefore Russia isn't a terrorist state fthat's invading, murdering, raping, and trying to basically wipe independent Ukraine off the map. I'm not into the woke thing and I think far-left talking points are ridiculous, but then so too is this guy's interpretation that Russians just love history and are actually the real vicitims.

I think it would serve everyone well to separate "Russians" from the Russian state - government. Unless you understand and live the circumstances of the people there, it's hard to criticize the population for not taking action against political decisions that 99% of Russians had nothing to do with. Condemn those who are guilty of terrorizing, invading, and murdering, but not the innocent. My two cents, thanks for your comment.

Thank you for your video. The subject matter is stimulating. Russia a democracy? I have been struggling with this question for a long time. I'm not going to expand here on Russia's invasion of Ukraine. I'm focused on the question of democracy. First, many westerners don't have a clue how their own democracy works never mind the Russian.
Russia's constitution and governmental structure is based on the French political system with some variations. There are many political parties and the largest 5 are actually in their parliament. By law any Russian can join a political party of their choosing. There is even a constitutional stipulation under which the President can be forced to resign. Russia is not like UK or Canada or the USA but Russia is still a structural democracy. So get involved in the matters of your country if you want to make changes. This also applies to the westerns that are complaining about their home governments. Before any snarky comments, please read, if nothing else at least the Wikipedia page on the subject of Russian government.

My experience with Russia: it's a country that is imprisoned in its own history and victory, locked in 1945, thinking that nazis are still around. The people is cleverly kept in an alert status by state propaganda. Russian people are good but manipulated by one-way media and no real political opposition.
