Tune your gas, buffer spring, and buffer weight

Maybe get some sort of booster muzzle brake for it. Sort of like what the krinkovs use.

I have an 8.5 in 9x39 upper on my AR the trick is regular carbine buffer spring regular standard buffer weight and an ASC magazine. And round the mag just a hair. And Olf Ammo. The Tula would short stroke every time.I just ran 40 rounds through with no issues whatsoever.Way more accurate than my 223

you're definitely having gas or spring issues. I recommend an adjustable gas block and lighter buffer spring.

have you modified your buffer weight or spring at all? i beleive it to be necessary for this cartridge. it is very low pressure

With Wolf ammo, a light spring is needed. I cant get it to run on Tula w/o the can even trying a lightened bcg and buffer weight

Nice. Have not tried mine unsuppressed yet. But, I've only ever used my E-Lander 6.5 Grendel mag with no mods. My latest upload has my 9x39 pistol on it. Test fire is at the end.

You need a lighter buffer or spring to fix the stove piping

With the shorter barrel may = less dwell time past the gas block to put back pressure to operate the system. Like 300 blackout in short barrels - hard to find a balance to run supersonics and subsonics on the same gas setting. If subs run reliable with suppressor and supersonics run without supressor, than that may be as good as you would want. You can always play with the influencing factors - Gas port size increase (but may over gas supersonics) reduce buffer weight. How do you like the caliber overall?

Here’s how I got mine running. You need rze unimags so far those are the only ones I’ve got running and they’ll go 20rds no issue. 2nd use a regular carbine buffer and remove 2/3 weights inside.

Man... I totally want to do his exact same thing. Keep us updated with progress
. I was going to mention the same thing that the guy said down bow... Possibly just the shorter barrel playing a role. I was going to grap one of those kak uppers...

Different recoil spring/buffer? Might help with getting the bolt to travel back further and pick up those rounds/lockout. Of course, only a slightly educated guess. Best of luck thanks for sharing!

what magazine ?? put one round in magazine and shot, bolt hold open?

Not enough gas and too much buffer weight (could even try a low mass carrier and a supressor would give it more back pressure). Those cartridges have VERY low pressures, lower even then sub-sonic 7.62x39. Your bolt's not getting full travel to strip another round.

Not enough gas, lower pressure round

Looks like lazy cycling.....under gassed. Enlarge gas hole in barrel 0.005 and retry firing function. Enlarge again and retry. Can also reduce buffer weight. Knock out the roll pin on the buffer and drill a large hole in 1 buffer weight and retry for function. Drill a large hole in a 2nd buffer weight and retry for function etc etc.

Who has good AR mags for that ? (9×39)

You can use 7.62x39 mags, I haven't looked specifically for 9x39 mags yet

9x39 doesn't work with curved mags like the AK.
