Very nice footage. Especially like the boardwalk scenes where I worked for two summers-bestest job I ever had. Grew up there from 1960 until joining the Navy in 1983. Never knew how fortunate I was to grow up there until after leaving. Lived a few blocks from the beach on 26th ave. That same house probably goes for a million dollars now and for that reason could never think about a return.
Great video !!! Went to all these places when i lived in the bay area. Mid to late 90s, went to santa Cruz with so many boyfriends who surfed. Best times of my life. Love the music!! Lived in the bay area 1977-2004.-

Santa Cruz lost a lot of it's cool thirty years ago
at the beginning of this by the lighthouse, there is a fence that people love to hop(the woman running), it shows exactly where people die on the cliff by the lighthouse, and why there is a fence there, but there is always people hanging off of the cliff. A handful of people a year die right there from falling in the water, drowning and being carried away! Just don't do it, it's not worth it! By the time help comes your dead.fact!

Great footage! Did your cinematographer need any special permission to fly in these areas? I've noticed some parts of the Santa Cruz coastline are no-fly zones, so I was just curious about how he went about it.

Santa Cruz is a very beautiful place ,
However don't try to come here unless you have a lot of money
The city council of Santa Cruz only want rich people to live here as has been apparent by the lack of Affordable housing and I Do Mean Very little housing for the population of residents that serve your food and wait on you in the shops
Santa Cruz is one of the Top most expensive places to live in the United States
And in top of THAT we are experiencing a Wave of Heroin and Meth addicts flowing into Santa Cruz that the Police don't seem to be able to do anything about
We are hearing from homeless drug people that they were told that if they come here they will be taken care of
I know that we have the best Care as far as public assistance like health care but it's not making a difference out on the streets when the People who actually live here and have been struggling to survive the Rising cost of living here
I have been living in Santa Cruz for almost 50 years now and I have struggled to stay afloat in a town that I call home only to be Treated like a second class citizen after all these years by the Nouveau riche people who come to buy up the real Estate and the realtors THAT exploit us

We moved there when I was 10 years old 60's. It was awesome tourists were non existent except for the cooks from San Jose. Thats where I learned to surf and loved every moment, ubtill they built the University Thats when everything changed and everybody and there relatives moved there. It's wayyyy over crowded now. but it was great in the 60's...
