Fascinating, maybe the mutation taps into the intuition to know exactly what the most efficient way to change is. Could also explain the constant genetic shuffling as a form of boredom.
"I am lucky that people working with me are nice" Ma'am we work with anomalies that want to kill us on first sight. Can you imagine how grateful we are working with one that does not want to kill us. You arent lucky, we simply treat you well because you treat us well. And thus i doubt you need to be worried about who will work with you next after me
Perhaps the anomaly in a sense knew the easiest way to reach the salmon was via something simple like a hard balloon, squeezing smaller parts of itself than a regular muscle to get mobility out of the limb? And perhaps at least part of the bubbling she described was the cells emitting some sort of gas within the limb to inflate it and allow for it to function? And furthermore, perhaps the random mutations come from a lack of external and/or internal stimuli to draw out the will to do something? Perhaps if she were bound more by chains she could feasibly break from with sufficient adaptation, such would happen if something were to threaten either her or I? A needlessly cruel method, I'd say. Perhaps instead of endangering myself or her, we repeat the previous test but instead place salmon in a box with a cheap padlock, and see whether her adaptations go for the easier method of ripping the padlock off the box to open it, or the more technical one of perhaps giving her some sort of appendage to open the lock with, somewhat like a lockpick?
Plot twist: the dr is an anomaly too but was allowed to work As a researcher because of their good behavior and high intelligence. (Maybe the dr is the same as the anomaly just was able to master it's power.)
@nunoferreira406 maybe if the doctor is an anomaly, his/her "skill" could be to influence other anomalies abilities, hence her (the anomaly that is researched) mutation getting more stable since he/she's there? Helping her getting more control, but for this he/she needs some information about the anomaly first?
@nunoferreira406 that would be dope, but wouldn't that mean that the researcher-anomaly let things derail deliberately in part two when the other doctor was there?🤔 Although you could explain that away with the intention of getting an reaction from our anomaly.
I like you added some depth to the transformation, rather than it just being an ambiguous change of how much clarity it was made with a clear purpose Previously the original changed what was strong until the muscle mass to protect the researcher but in this case, she did not expect danger so the arm wasn't made of more material than necessary which is a pleasant nuance to this transformation
As soon as they were chained to the wall, I knew what the test was gonna be. XD Amazing. If we tied a muzzle over their mouth, I wonder if they would shift a mouth on their extra limb?
Oh I’m totally hanging out with her on every break and having her help me analyze other stuff too 😊 new BFF acquired Lol love the longer audio Scratch!
That's a really cool shifting concept, that she only does when she actually needs to do something she really wants to, and can't unless the shift happens. neato
I turn around as i leave my cell: "Well, i don't really get why other employees are so cruel sometimes. It doesn't take much effort to be nice, and that makes everyones time here a bit better. Can i get you something for tomorrow? More salmon? Or some sweets or snacks? Or maybe some books, to keep your mind busy?" Even if i just listened to the audio today, that was a really cool end for 2024. Happy new year and all the best for 2025 scratch! ;)
You know I'm curious to find out if all the anomalies would have break out of their containment rooms start killing everybody in the facility and seriously injured the listener and your character go off the war path and kill every single normally and escape the with listener healing them but in some way of healing the listener they somehow make them an anomaly
It could be cool if the anomaly used to be a researcher but forgot after getting infected or im being dumb Absolutely loving the series can't wait to see where it goes ❤
I think another potential experiment could be to try and halt or reverse one of the gradual changes. Say... Slowing down or undoing a shift that might hinder speech or force a verbal tic.
"See you next time bud..." Dr James Nefario *He sighs when leaving. Knowing full well he doesn't have much time left to do things* (My character i use is James Nefario. He kinda has molecular decay, effects him Slowly, but it's dangerous if left untreated for too long)
Maybe it was supposed to be a crab leg? You know, crabs eat fishes. Spiders - not so much. There are specialized spider species that can hunt smol fishes but it's rather rare occurrence.
It's not about what they eat, it's about the practicality of the leg: a spider has much lighter and more practical legs than humans or crabs. The downside is it's fragility, that's why we have bones and muscles. But for a one-time use leg like in the video, it's easier and more efficient to go for a spider leg.
@-WMD-Edutainment It might be about what they eat since "anomaly" was quite into biology before changes started and subconsciousness started "connecting the dots". See fish -> want to eat -> deploy land-capable natural predator element. As for the construction - all types of mentioned legs have muscles with human legs being practically muscles wrapped around the bones, crab legs with a little (compared to humans) of them inside of the exoskeleton and spider legs, driven part by muscles, part by internal hydraulics of the spider (that's why spiders curl their legs when they die). As for the effectiveness - one might think that chameleon tongue or even something akin to cnidocyte, close to gastric system might be more effective. EDIT - not to mention that "modifying" the "imprisoned" body part to set it free is probably most logical solution.
@@Verid1st You are right that it is easier to modify the entrapped limbs to set them free, or that it would be more optimal to modify the tongue to that of a chameleons, but evolution isn't about finding the best solution, it's about finding what sticks first. Basically, the first one that lets you live will be the one you go with. That's why it took so long for insects to start drinking blood, as it wasn't *necessary* for their survival. And maybe blood drinking isn't even the most optimal source of nurishment for an insect. Afterall, nobody and *nothing* is perfect. P.S.: Happy new year! I'm a little under the influence currently so i may look back at this comment tomorrow and cringe into oblivion lol
@-WMD-Edutainment Hahaha, Happy New Year to y'all as well. I do not consume alcohol so you might believe me when I say that there's nothing cringe about your comments. Actually love these little exchanges in Scratch's comment section when it comes to silly little theories about biology of hybrids or other fantasy creatures.
@@Verid1st Thanks! :) Appreciate the sentimentality. I guess we'll meet in another commentsection of Scratch's. Until then, Skeletor will be back with more biology discussions!

@derschwenki9615 that sounds great but i would like to add it being able to influence other things than anomalies, like equipment, emotions etc

@@derschwenki9615 not exactly, it could be that, but it isnt a passive skill, i mean its not always active

I had expected her wrists to shrink or grow slippery in order to slip out of the chains, but I guess this works too.

"Either flick the underside of the yourself or unchain me"
No offense or anything but I am not touching that
Well well well! YES I KNEW IT!
I wonder if the anomaly poor reaction to the feeling of growing a bone caused it to change into a spider leg
I’ll look after you, my little Anomaly
I love this so much! Thank you Scratch!

Yay part 3
I can’t help but think of Tom McGovern “Everything smells like salmon” song now.😂😂
