Hey Toon, Omii and cute Jerzey and Philly!😊🙌🙏🐶🐶💞. The downtown area looks nice. Wow! That phone booth does look cool. The art does look nice on that building. I like the mural of Bo Diddly too. I like the statue of the Soldiers that passed away. That’s funny! I didn’t even notice the birds. I just thought it was like a wagon type. That’s pretty good Toon!👏😊💯😅. Sometimes I notice those things but not all the time!😅😂. Cute dogs!🥰🐶🐶. I guess they wanted to play a little. LOL! Man! I didn’t even know they had a CBD restaurant. I think you are right toon about that building needing a good pressure wash. That’s true toon, that building looks gothic. I like that mural with all those little words.👏💯😊. LOL! That’s funny Toon. You saw lavish lounge but it didn’t look too lavish!😅😂😊
I do like the look of Jackson City. Thank you Omii, Toon, Phillie and Jerzie for an interesting tour☺- I thoroughly enjoyed it. (time for you all to put your👣and 🐾up)!! "Happy Travels"
"it takes a fresh eye to look at it and notice the details." Truer words have never been spoken! Was a pleasure spending an hour of my life watching this wonderful video. Lived in Jackson, MS for 22 years (left in Summer 2017) and this tour alone had you exploring downtown way more than I ever did in those 22 years! I guess I only saw downtown in bits and pieces. I remember as a college freshman fresh in Jackson, being downtown...was surreal...there used to be a McDonalds opposite the Chick-fil-A. I also remember Hal and Mal's live concerts. And a club called "The Groove" further down on State Street on the opposite side of Hal and Mal's. And traffic ticket payings at the courthouse! As well as federal business at the Federal building. Downtown was always as deserted as it is during this video (lol) during my entire time in Jackson. Smith Park used to be scary - homeless folks milling around. The old capital museum was always like that. No one there. Also great college memories of club Catwalk near the Standard Life building on Capitol st. Friday nights it was always packed and interesting. But when you're a college student working multiple odd jobs to pay through school, it's very difficult to stop and smell the roses in a very intensive way as done in this video. Had to wait to learn the lesson in my 30's (to smell the roses)! It has served me well since. God bless all who lived, visited or were born in Jackson, MS. I will always cherish my memories of that city. I really, really, reaaally miss attending the annual State Fair each year! The State Fair is truly world class. What I would not give for a giant cinnamon roll and more at the Mississippi Annual State Fair. Life is is so short folks. Enjoy it and make peace with God while it lasts.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 🙏🏼The layout of the city, the architecture, the historical buildings... it’s all something to take in when a viewer is not from the area. Sometimes it’s not always about seeing actual physical beings walking around 😉 have a good day
Dude the city is completely DEAD! i don't know if it's middle of the week or maybe it's in holiday but the empty side walks tell us that it has no spirit
I’m from the Jackson area. People would rather be in the surrounding cities than to be in Jackson. There’s too much crime in Jackson so people rarely go there. Business is booming in surrounding cities but not so much in Jackson.
Been to all 48 states... to be honest this walking tour/driving tour stuff got boring after 1000 videos. Walked on skid row los Angeles by my self at night time documented it on my channel. And I'm born and raised in one of the worst hoods in Philadelphia (kensington) which I documented at night and still live at to this day. Day and night don't make much of a difference when you look like a goon walking. They don't know if you gonna rob them or they gonna rob you. The point in these videos is not to show who's gonna walk where at what time. It's to document the layout of the city for years to come so future generations can appreciate the footage... I saw/documented south Jackson...it was mangled. Empty with trash, abandoned houses everywhere, pot holes the size of cars.stray dogs...Etc. But then again many big cities have areas like that. Chicago. Detroit. Baltimore, new orleans, baton rouge, etc. I was with my wife and dogs just passing through this state. Believe me I didn't plan on documenting jackson....i Just wanted to do the community a favor while i was passing through driving to california.... Feel free to explore my channel. Over 1800 videos. 600 or more covering all corners of my city. Over 400 videos covering 48 states in the USA. Have a good day .
Completed my 48 state journey almost 3 years ago. God blessed me to be smart enough to do that. Haven't watched it since I lived it then. I'm assuming I possibly said we are in Alabama and not Mississippi based on your smart response. Mistakes happen. My mind was probaly still in Alabama. Have a good day
Toon, Toon, Toon what the hell is going on with that down town city???? It's totally "DEAD"!! If you're looking for a lawyer you'll be in good shape! (Lawyer Town, who are there clients "Ghost") I watched the video from being to end and haven't seen one person walk by, Finally near the end some people waiting in line for something!? Hardly any cars parked on the street! I don't know what time it was there but just watch out for the "Zombies"!! "Surreal"!!!!!
Yea it definitely was ghost town. You ain’t lying about the lawyers, they everywhere 😄💯🙏🏼 I think this was shot on November 21st which was a Sunday. That’s probably why 😂
I used to be a Ticket and Freight agent at the Greyhound building many years ago.
You give one of the best walk and talks I’ve seen on YT. Good job!
You confused Mississippi with Alabama several times. It's Mississippi, not Alabama. Despite the mess ups, excellent tour! Great job, Toony.
Yup your right 😂😂😂 this was shot about a month ago. I must of mentally still been in Alabama 😊🙏🏼 Appreciate the comment have a blessed day
@@TOON215 Might have been thinking of "Jacksonville" in Alabama haha
He has given this downtown more attention than a lot of other downtowns. Lucky Jackson!!

Thanks for such a great video of Jackson. Jackson sure has a certain charm to it!
Charm? There’s legit nobody in the city
Dead downtown city but still outstanding walking tour. Thanks Toon 👍👍
Thanks for the feedback 👍🏼💜
I'm surprised to see how quiet it is... there's barely anyone walking on the street beside you.
Yes sir it was a ghost town. 🙏
@@TOON215 Evenings and weekends, downtown is dead.
Excellent tour! But I wonder where are the people?
Walmart.
Thank you for doing this tour. I'm from Jackson, MS, but I live in Texas now.
I do like the look of Jackson City.

Such a Historic Downtown. You did an excellent job, and the pups were such good girls...

Believe it or not, Jackson is one of 4 host cities in the world for the International Ballet. That’s the reason for the ballerina mural.
Greetings Toon, be safe out there, please!
Is someone talking on a loudspeaker from the coliseum?
Not sure couldn’t really tell. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was lol
Not only is the place completely dead but it looks so unkept and undeveloped. Kinda crazy to think this is a US state capital.
This is the 2nd video i watched of Jackson, Mississippi and there are no people and few cars. The other video was a driving tour
man i live a few blocks from where you are now
Was thIs a weekend
Theres nothing to see Toon, sorry
I believe a Sunday 😁

The city with no clean drinking water...100 year old infrastructure that the state refuses to give the city funding for. Smh I hope it gets better
EAVES Law firm was on fire yesterday
Where is everyone?
Everyone is scared they got everybody scared down there they live back in the 50s and 60s
Is a banded City nobody lived there it's hollow
They need to move all the homeless people out there over the United States moving out there
@@andrewgoosdy3814 Scared of what?
Nothing but a banded City where the people go at
Just for clarification, That's John R Lynch Street. Not some horrible reminder of our ugly past.

Jackson, MS isn’t the capital of Alabama.
Damn downtown is dead as hell
Yup it was very desolate especially South Jackson
People live like back 1950s and 60s when Dr Martin Luther King was alive
I bet you won't walk thru south jackson at night lol

If you're in Ohio, come to Cincinnati, and don't forget Columbus, and Cleveland.
Hello I've been out of that area for months. I've already complete my 48 state cross country journey successfully over 10 months
Downtown Jackson Mississippi is a ghost town
Jackson is Mississippi Capitol, not Alabama. Real smart guy...
