    Perhaps they might have thought about having assistance if the rails had been wet, but a superb sound at Bincombe. What a superbly maintained engine that is.

      If they did get into trouble, sure assistance would've been given. All the diesel did all day, was the Yeovil to Weymouth section, the rest of the day it spent idling.

    Great View of the proceedings, didnt you post Tangmere with 12 unassisted about 10 years ago, which was epic. A castle did it with 8 and made a big fuss about it!!

      Yeah 2009 was Tangmere's run with load 11, which was pretty much the same speed as Clan Line's run yesterday. Just goes to show how underrated they are by some enthusiasts.

      @@04clemea They are OK when properly maintained and the oil bath isn’t spraying oil all over the track

      @@johnbarrance4926 I'm surprised you should make such a comment. It's well known that oil Bath didn't actually leak that much. The oil getting onto the wheels and track, came from the axle box keeps.

    where do you get a 13 load from? just 10 coaches?

      A diesel loco weights approx 3 carriages.

    Doubt the "unassisted" as you could hear the oilcan working

    Nice video but I count 10 coaches not 13

    • @04clemea
      @04clemea  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I know it's 10, but added weight of the diesel brings it upto load 13.

    I fail to see how you entitled this as I did not see more than 10 carriages and a diesel on the tail hardly classifies this as "Unassisted". Perhaps someone can enlighten me !

    • @04clemea
      @04clemea  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because it says load 13, not 13 coaches. The load behind the engine was 10 coaches and a diesel loco not giving any assistance, so is adding on the equivalent of 3 coaches weight. So it was load 13 unassisted. 👍

      dont think is equal to 3 coaches plus passengers no way

    • @04clemea
      @04clemea  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rolandlivings2928 the class 47 is around 120 tons. The Mk1 coaches are 30 tons. So yeah 13+ equivalent load.

      @@robertcharlessceats3647 I thought I did in my first response to you. I didn't give the weights admittedly, but I explained that the diesel not working is the equivalent of 3 coaches, which does cover it. It wanted more information, I would've quality happily given it, but you didn't reply to my comment asking for more. I do mention the diesel not powering, is equivalent to the extra weight in the description. But obviously not enough information to cover the subject. I will provide more information next time I need to cover the subject.
