Aretha Franklin singing "No no, no I'm losing you" the live performance is going to remain unmatched. No singer has ever hit a perfect G5 like that. Aretha Franklin was indeed unmatched in her prime.
@@NIPPYxMIMI anything would be amazing! I would love to see him watch her performance of "What I Did For Love" as I know he would completely freak out over the G#5 she hits in that song! Also it's one of my favorite interpretations by Aretha
More than likely that's 'Billy Preston' on the Hammond B3 Organ, Billy is listed on this album - 'Live at The Filmore West' - King Curtis (saxophone) is listed as Band leader, he died within a year after the released of this album. Aretha was the first, the original Queen of Soul - people are making comments of all these "johnny-come-lately" singers who were not even born in 1971, anyone can come up from behind and sing once it has already been done and layed down by the original, the thing is to be 'THE FIRST' and original !!!
Adam, please react to Patti LaBelle’s performance of Forever Young at Soul Train 1995, where she dedicated one line of the song to Whitney (they say) and walked away from the mic (lol). Or Tears in Heaven live 1998. I think those two performances are her best in her career, the soul just touches you. 🙏
I think I also like what she did at Fillmore more than the Montreux version, although Montreux is brilliant too. The raspiness at the Fillmore completely added character there, she leaned into it so well. This GRAMMYs performance is maybe my favorite, but Id rather they had cut the intro if they had to cut anything, and added the missing first verse or the outro.
I liked her Montreux 71 performance even though she was raspy but her 1971 grammy performance here was brilliant , her voice has that glorious clear as a bell ring , just beautiful !
@@NIPPYxMIMI I understand your point. If I had to choose, I would agree with you., better to cut some of the intro than the outro in this song. It's just that with Aretha's performances, I'm GREEDY, DON'T CUT OUT A THING!!!

I found my Mom's vinyl of Aretha's Greatest Hits, I was literally listening to this song an hour ago and you post this. I love it.
This is a completely LEGENDARY performance! Its because of this is why Aretha even released a studio recorded version of this song!
Which one by her should he do next? I was thinking "More Than Just A Joy" from the Almighty Fire album

Hey Adam, can you please react to Christina x Sabrina What A Girl Wants💗
Please react to Gaga Happy Mistake Live Performance 🤍
Her live version at montreux in 71 easily beats this.
Her voice in Montreux was coarse and raspy (like many other ‘71 performances). It’s clear as a bell here

That's Donny Hathaway on the organ on the recording trading licks with Aretha on piano
