True story. I'm old, grew-up in Colorado and was an early teenager back when CU was competitive. I had been to games here and there over the years but hadn't been to one since we had coach Hawkins. Finally went to one again last year when they played USC and I'd never seen it that full in person before. How about N. Dakota State is very good . Probably will move up to D1. No one wants to play them. Colorado is ok not great. All of his team left in the spring. Much respect to NDST.
Yeah bro they are.. I just checked the Size of their OL.. And they have the biggest OL that colorado faces all season.. NDS has a bigger OL than most sec schools 🤯 Both guards and tackles are 6’7 300+!! They have one dude that’s 6’9.. Utahs biggest OL is 6’5 270.. Size matters upfront..
@@Colloidal-te2iz They also gave up almost 450 yards of offense against an FCS team that was 5-3 in their own conference last year, and they allowed that team to control the ball for over 36 minutes. Let's see what they'll look like playing against players that FBS teams actually wanted on their offense.
Bro NDS OL is bigger than bamas.. both guards are 6’7 300+ two kids are 6’9 7’0.. NDS is the biggest line colorado plays all season.. 🤯 I think nds is the best team on colorados schedule after seeing the size of their OL
But your forgetting that they were playing AN FCS TEAM. The defence is obviously going to need to adjust especially in week one, but against an FCS opponent? 🤔
Colorado’s defense makes big stops at the worst time, like a sack or tfl on first or second down but can never get off the field after 3rd and 4th down
If Matt were summarizing the US Olympic team like he does Colorado, he’d completely ignore Simone Biles and harp on how poorly the US plays ping pong. The headline isn’t CU’s rushing yards. It’s the amazing display of athleticism by Travis Hunter. Watching #12 contort himself to catch the TD pass while being clothesline tackled by the defender was nothing short of jaw dropping. And then there is the other 110 snaps he took on both sides of the ball. Travis Hunter is legitimately a freak of nature who had a very good outing. You wouldn’t get that from MattBeMissingTheHeadline.
I mean what do you guys expect? The man inherited a 1-11 program; he’s only been head coach a year and some change. Improvements were made last season; their record went from 1-11 to 4-8, he helped generate millions of dollars for the school and boulder community, he created a new opportunity for players, coaches, etc. This is just the beginning of the second season. Give the guy a break. All of the people that are taking a more critical perspective couldn’t do any better than that man has done with a 1-11 program in such a short period of time. Taking a 1-11 team and trying to turn it into a winning program is like doing a full blown remodel on a big box store; it’s going to take some time…
I just checked and NDS has the biggest OL that colorado faces all year..Even bigger than Utahs.. Both guards for NDS are 6’7 300 pounds..The back ups are the same size one is 6’9!! They have the same size of OL as Alabama..They are massive!! It shocked me..Colorado just played the best team they’ll face all year…🤯🤯
As much as I like Colorado and Coach Prime, you hit the nail on the head. My thing with Colorado and FSU is coaching and play calling. I've been watching lots of 'Well Off Media' shout out to Bucky. What I see is a lack of focus in those videos, and it shows in the games. AAU is an excellent analysis. Full of talent, but they don't have it where it's most needed; in the trenches, in discipline, in the attention to detail. You see, when you have young men playing to make that highlight(clicks for likes), you give up something. Coach Prime was a freak as Dion Sanders. You can't teach that. Like a father often does, expects what he was in his children. You have it, or you don't. Coach Prime goes out and gets talented kids or what he sees in himself. The problem is, some things just can't be taught. Colorado, you can have this one for free. Understand why true military personnel often times make good coaches. Not someone who was just in the military. Think about it It's going to be a long season
Colorado has made some improvements from last year, particularly with their front 7. I'll say that if Colorado does have some success in the season, they'd basically be the 2016 Louisville team with Lamar Jackson. That Louisville team wasn't the biggest or strongest team, but with great teamwork and the skill players they had, they had a good season. With the skill players Colorado have, I could very well see them having that type of success (9 to 10 wins) if they fix the mistakes
@la-gl4uh They lost 52-0 and yeah I said that before the game and it is a rivalry so they should play better but yeah let's say after Nebraska,CSU and Baylor
How many times are they gonna let Travis get away with offensive pass interference? I mean the kid is unbelievable when it comes to being the ball in but they can’t allow him to push off or tug the DB right before every big catch!
I agree with your takes on this Colorado team. What I would like to see is that they use this game as an example and fix all the issues that still have. NDSU isn't a team to take lightly. They played Arizona close last year as well (there was no hype about that). But I want to see Colorado bounce back and play a heck of a season this year. #EmbraceTheBald #DontWearHatsMatt
The power option is known to give defenses of any level trouble until half time. Then teams will have it figured out and it'll be little to 0 impact. Just like NSDU.
Hey Matt, there was one thing i noticed during the game was that the offensive line of colorado got holes opened up but they only got like 3-4 yards when that massive hole was opened up. Is it a failure on the running backs of colorado or is it a success on the linebackers of NDSU?
I watched 7:11 of this video and this dude literally said nothing that was useful. Nothing that was revelatory. Dude watched first take then reiterated other pppl’s takes
I think they should try different formations for running on offense just doesn't seem to be any major focus on run design mostly out of shotgun plays .
If Shedeur Sanders gets injured for the year, does Travis Hunter quit and prepare for the draft. Also Deon coaching will be in the past next year once the two of them are pros in my opinion.
Colorado has talent, but everyone is new. Including, the coaches and coordinators. Look at the second half. Held them to 6 points. Great adjustments. They will get better, and they are. NDSU was the perfect opponent, and their scheme is deadly. Experience is everything, and CU has the ability to beat anyone in the BIG 12, any given Saturday. It’s up to them though.
I think the o line has potential there starting a true freshman and he played well in the pass game I think he’ll develop his run blocking and can be one of the best in the nation.
@@damianpresha9833 It has to be an eligible receiver in the area to avoid intentional grounding. But, spiking the ball to stop the clock is one of the things specifically allowed by the rules such that intentional grounding doesn't apply.
A spike, "technically" is an intentional grounding. But why it's not called intentional grounding, is because the QB obviously not in any danger of being sacked. And yes, it does count as an incompletion.
@@saldiven2009 Is the QB under pressure during the spike ? Is the QB avoiding losing yardage by spiking the ball ? The rule very specific that's why it's not grounding.
Two things I saw when watched this game 1.) CU’s D-line couldn’t sack a mannequin in a department store 2.) Sheduer is one hit away from getting injured cause that O-line can’t block a fly
Point blank Colorado isn't a good football team. I know they have fans and people who want them to succeed but they just aren't good. It's time to wake up Colorado fans.
My opinion Deion is the likable version of Lincoln Riley. Both live and die with the Offense and believe their prolific Quarterbacks will get them out of every situation at least Riley’s teams have a pretty decent run game. But both Defense/ trench play are terrible and do little to improve that side of the ball each year they think the portal will be the answer.
Full Disclosure I'm a SOLID Band Wagon BUFFS Fan. My First Team/Home team is UCLA so I'll have a very Tuff season. lol OK, I had CU 28 NDSU 17. I never bought into a Blowout, I based my prediction on First Game Mistakes and New Players/O-Line-D Line but with expecting CU running MINIMUM 130yrs from scrimmage. CU won the game, great but how they Won will not get them winning through the Conference. I'm more Nervous for the BUFFS now than I was Before this NDSU. If you can't run the ball and Every 3rd n 3 or greater is automatically a pass Everyone on the planet knows it meaning a D can Blitz, Bull Rush at will, BUFFS are DOOMED. I won't even discuss Defense...if if if CU can get running yardage as little as 130yrd a game average that will help O-Line to pass protect a hair better allowing Shedeur to do his thing, outscore, while keeping Opponents D rushers slightly at bey. The season has started you can't fix everything, at this point running the Ball is their only Hope being respectable through the Conference. I think it's possible. BTW I am/WAS predicting a 7 Game Winning Season with 5 Wins in Conference.
Colorado looked better this year from the line and on the line... But even puttng one man on Travis seems like a good idea until you remember that J. Horn is back there also.
That Oline sucks so bad 😂😂 every big man from offense to defense need to be doing up downs Monday for the poor performance. If The the o line wasn’t getting bulldozed the Dline was getting tossed around like rag dogs . North Dakota O an D line were giving Colorados big men a run for there money. Not to mention the DBs were getting owned by those wrs it’s crazy .
After being ranked the worst defense when playing single high safety man defense, last season.... Ypu would think Deion and the coaches WOULD NOT start the season playing single high man 70% of the time! Coaching is a big con ern again with CU.
Last nights game was made for passing. Fcuk a running game when you can light up the scoreboard every time you touch the ball. They started running to prove a point - and it backfired. To run, with no success, and then go for it on fourth down with no previous push was asinine. That secondary was trash and they abandoned killing them. CU put themselves in that position.
@@warnthepeople4417 well yeah, shedeur and hunter are two of the best players in the country so they’re entertaining, I’m a vol fan so no problem keeping my attention with them😂 seems like you need to take the chill pill
Deion Sanders would not care if CU won 58-55... He wants Shedeur to keep that scoreboard changing. There seems to be no plan. No identity, except pass the ball, which is exemplified by Shedeur having 2 td passes on his first 6 throws. Then, CU runs the ball 4 straight times and turns the ball over on downs... Huh?
Losing half of the team to the portal isn’t helping either. It’s year two, still early in the process but he won’t build a monster program relying on the portal. Recruiting should be his bread and butter. Otherwise you constantly have a room full of strangers and hired guns with zero loyalty to the program
Alright look, 2 glaring issues with game 1. First, coverage issues in the first quarter, second run the freakin ball!!! A win is a win. Oh and by the way I sure hope a game doesn’t come down to field goal kicking. 6-6 at best 😢 then Coach Prime is gone with his sons and Travis. I am not a hater.
Colorado has two main problems, and neither one is Coach Prime. The best talent primarily goes to the SEC and Big 10 Conferences. The Big 12 and the remaining conferences are left with players who couldn't get a scholarship at an SEC or Big 10 school. Mike Gundy of Oklahoma State University is a good coach and has been there for 20 years. But he'll never be able to recruit the type of players that Ohio State, Alabama, and Georgia get. The best players will not play in the Big 12 if they can play in one of the elite conferences. Colorado will never be able to attract top-tier talent. The second problem in Colorado is the need for NIL resources. Top programs are giving out $200k - $400k for an offensive or defensive lineman. How much NIL money is Colorado distributing? That's why Clemson is struggling. Dabo doesn't believe in NIL. Finally, I'm concerned about Colorado next season without Shedeur and Hunter. If they only win three or four games this season, they are going to be trash next season, which will be Coach Prime's third season. The coach must build the team through high school recruiting and fill in the holes through the transfer portal.
They could’ve ran the ball they just didn’t commit to it like they should have they had a couple good run plays what happened was they fell behind and got scared and what they do pass Colorado should’ve went all in on o line buy them like Miami canes did this year
This colorado team is like a mike leach team…Sanders needs to check it down to his running backs more because they can’t run very good.. That’s what made leaches offense at WSU so deadly his RB lead the team in Receiving yards just from check downs.. It’s basically a run or sweep.. Leach averaged 60 rushing yards a game…. Yall are haters
Peyton Manning won his first Superbowl with superior offense, he won his second Superbowl with superior defense. The lesson learned here? At least one side of the ball has to be elite. Colorado's air raid will be their undoing, especially if they keep the clock stuck. The lack of a run game and low producing defense is what kept the game close.
God forbid somebody says Colorado is mediocre or any criticism. So far they look like a 6-6 or 7-5 type team. Great QB and WR’s, but you can’t be one dimensional and expect to compete for the Big 12 championship.

How about N. Dakota State is very good . Probably will move up to D1. No one wants to play them. Colorado is ok not great. All of his team left in the spring. Much respect to NDST.
That ND team is not good compared to ND of the past decade
Yeah bro they are.. I just checked the Size of their OL.. And they have the biggest OL that colorado faces all season.. NDS has a bigger OL than most sec schools 🤯 Both guards and tackles are 6’7 300+!! They have one dude that’s 6’9.. Utahs biggest OL is 6’5 270.. Size matters upfront..
Colorado is better than they were last year, but not by much. They have a ways to go to compete.
Lincoln Nebraska 95,000💪🏼,🌽🌽🌽different level here🌽
Colorado needs more defense
Better concepts
The defense gave up 6 pts in the second half. I think they’ll be alright.
They currently got the talent to be a solid defense, the execution is poor
Bro NDS OL is bigger than bamas.. both guards are 6’7 300+ two kids are 6’9 7’0.. NDS is the biggest line colorado plays all season.. 🤯 I think nds is the best team on colorados schedule after seeing the size of their OL
I think this is a overreaction there are issues that they obviously need to fix but it’s game 1 with a entire new defence
And a new defensive coordinator
Exactly
But your forgetting that they were playing AN FCS TEAM. The defence is obviously going to need to adjust especially in week one, but against an FCS opponent? 🤔
He doing this for Clicks
This is the same thing y’all said last year
Colorado’s defense makes big stops at the worst time, like a sack or tfl on first or second down but can never get off the field after 3rd and 4th down
facts
Preach!!!!!
That O Line needs help and that Defense is in trouble.
Think about it
It's going to be a long season
Too much bling.
Offensive Line is still trash!!! 2nd half they were in a Shotgun.
Y’all watching Nebraska putting a beating on UTEP? You have your work cut out for y’all.
To say the offensive line is bad following this game is to early ... lets see after Nebraska or CSU
CSU? CSU lost 38-0 to Texas today.
@la-gl4uh They lost 52-0 and yeah I said that before the game and it is a rivalry so they should play better but yeah let's say after Nebraska,CSU and Baylor
Had Colorado Played SDSU, They Would Have Lost By 3 Touchdowns! 😱
Preach Matt preach!!!
So if a team don't blow out a team it's not a good win you bugging B deadass
Matt great content as usual. And real talk no lies love it
Hey Matt, there was one thing i noticed during the game was that the offensive line of colorado got holes opened up but they only got like 3-4 yards when that massive hole was opened up. Is it a failure on the running backs of colorado or is it a success on the linebackers of NDSU?
The Jimmy Horn Jr. disrespect needs to stop! Bro was cooking up 198 yards and a TD
I watched 7:11 of this video and this dude literally said nothing that was useful. Nothing that was revelatory. Dude watched first take then reiterated other pppl’s takes
4-5 wins again....
Yep
I think they should try different formations for running on offense just doesn't seem to be any major focus on run design mostly out of shotgun plays .
If Shedeur Sanders gets injured for the year, does Travis Hunter quit and prepare for the draft. Also Deon coaching will be in the past next year once the two of them are pros in my opinion.
0:04 Yo your cooking something with that comparison as someone who’s played AAU basketball in the past
All they improved on was not committing as many penalties as they did last year.
It’s blowing me that people think NDSU was a weak team these dudes compete with power schools
1 sack ain't bad. Cam Miller got sacked 4 timed
I think the o line has potential there starting a true freshman and he played well in the pass game I think he’ll develop his run blocking and can be one of the best in the nation.
A spike does count as an incompletion. It should technically be intentional grounding
No it's not there always somebody in the area.
@@damianpresha9833 It has to be an eligible receiver in the area to avoid intentional grounding.
But, spiking the ball to stop the clock is one of the things specifically allowed by the rules such that intentional grounding doesn't apply.
@@saldiven2009i mean there’s usually a running back right behind
A spike, "technically" is an intentional grounding. But why it's not called intentional grounding, is because the QB obviously not in any danger of being sacked. And yes, it does count as an incompletion.
@@saldiven2009 Is the QB under pressure during the spike ? Is the QB avoiding losing yardage by spiking the ball ? The rule very specific that's why it's not grounding.
Two things I saw when watched this game 1.) CU’s D-line couldn’t sack a mannequin in a department store 2.) Sheduer is one hit away from getting injured cause that O-line can’t block a fly
Me personally at what point is he going to start recruiting some of these top tier high school players.
Point blank Colorado isn't a good football team. I know they have fans and people who want them to succeed but they just aren't good. It's time to wake up Colorado fans.
Yall forget Deion coached Jackson state lol I mean the competition different on a P5 level 😂
Seems that a balanced pass and run game is just common sense. How is it that these well paid coaches never understand that?
Its just them running man when they shouldve ran zone…theyll be fine
Exactly
Wait what I missed a Thursday night opening season! Yesterday officially a bad day!
Colorado looked better this year from the line and on the line...
But even puttng one man on Travis seems like a good idea until you remember that J. Horn is back there also.
Way to steal Uncle Lou content calling them a "pickup basketball" team. This guy has no clue what he talks about.
It's sports get over it
@@ohbaby4life it's lazy copy right content and I'll notify Lou
That Oline sucks so bad 😂😂 every big man from offense to defense need to be doing up downs Monday for the poor performance. If The the o line wasn’t getting bulldozed the Dline was getting tossed around like rag dogs .
North Dakota O an D line were giving Colorados big men a run for there money. Not to mention the DBs were getting owned by those wrs it’s crazy .
Enough said Matt I’m not gonna argue with you we’ll just show you better than. We can tell you 🤫
After being ranked the worst defense when playing single high safety man defense, last season....
If you double Travis Sheduer going to throw for 500 plus. They have to many weapons that can get yards after the catch
1st game. And youre talking about Colorado like theyre ranked or something. They're still building. Take a chill pill. Damn 😅
Building to what?😂 what’s the plan next year when shedeur, hunter, horn and shilo are gone😂
@@nickferguson1998 you seem entertained by colorado so just sit back and watch the show. Clearly your team can't keep your attention
@@warnthepeople4417 well yeah, shedeur and hunter are two of the best players in the country so they’re entertaining, I’m a vol fan so no problem keeping my attention with them😂 seems like you need to take the chill pill
@@nickferguson1998 your team is ass
Bad wins can absolutely hold you back. Look at FSU last year. They won, sure, but they looked so bad doing it they were left out of the playoffs
Hope you give your favorite team the same energy
Their defense is still lacking and their oline still can’t pass block or run block for shit
U definitely can’t just double trav and expect the two other wide outs to not cook the other dbs on em😂we literally seen jimmy doing it
Matt comin back with the COLD HARD FACTS
Alright look, 2 glaring issues with game 1. First, coverage issues in the first quarter, second run the freakin ball!!! A win is a win. Oh and by the way I sure hope a game doesn’t come down to field goal kicking. 6-6 at best 😢 then Coach Prime is gone with his sons and Travis. I am not a hater.
Please keep the rappers out of the locker room! Just play football
Damn Matt you couldn’t wait to hate on the buffs smh
Where was Jordan Seaton, the #1 high school offensive tackle?
I get so tired of people crapping on AAU basketball like AAU kids didn’t take out jokic and Luka
This was so true a fun AAU team no real team no culture just weak and flashy
They could’ve ran the ball they just didn’t commit to it like they should have they had a couple good run plays what happened was they fell behind and got scared and what they do pass Colorado should’ve went all in on o line buy them like Miami canes did this year
Bro you should start doing call ins line finebaum
MattBeDiddy
Matt you are right but the line only gave up one sack not bad
Spiking the ball is not a pass attempt … cmon Matt, how do you not know that??
Matt... us white people arent allowed to critique colorado or were racist.
Lmao why run when you have a QB that can give you 400 yards in a game
Deion needs to focus less on making his son the look like a video game qb. Colorado needs to run the ball much more.
NDSU could have won
Will Colorado win more than 5 games this season? Real Question
Colorado might win 6 games
Bro you not right 70 percent of the time but your voice is entertaining so keep it up 🎉🎉🎉
How many Colorado videos are you gonna spam now?? You don't do this for other teams. You're a fan, you're a fan, you're a fan 😂
I understand he's trying to critique but gosh lee, he critiques last night then wakes up just to critique again
I expected more from their rb Hayden, transfer from OSU…
This colorado team is like a mike leach team…Sanders needs to check it down to his running backs more because they can’t run very good.. That’s what made leaches offense at WSU so deadly his RB lead the team in Receiving yards just from check downs.. It’s basically a run or sweep.. Leach averaged 60 rushing yards a game…. Yall are haters
Piec in together What other people are saying He doesn't know what he's talking about. This is only one game
Colorado is not good in the trenches. That’s where football is won and lost
OL played good they allowed one sack DL was getting pressure but couldn’t keep outside contain and run defense and run game need to fixed it
Peyton Manning won his first Superbowl with superior offense, he won his second Superbowl with superior defense. The lesson learned here? At least one side of the ball has to be elite. Colorado's air raid will be their undoing, especially if they keep the clock stuck. The lack of a run game and low producing defense is what kept the game close.
