I cannot approve more of this video and this hobby of pixel art! I do remember making perler bead things as a kid but never thought of pixel art until seeing a few videos on youtube. I may never try it but it looks awesome! Good job!
@TheTreklover really glad you like them - got another video i'll put up in the next day or two with a massive SubZero from Mortal Kombat on - it looks amazing!
@Lorfarius hi there lorfarius thanks for subbing up - right back at you - cool vids! right let me know what your after and i'll see what we can do, the smaller ones i can post out no worries! thanks for watching!
@28steryan glad you like em dude! they have taken up most of christmas..... just finished another massive mario last night - going to try a bit of streetfighter and mortal kombat action soon!
I made a few bead sprites, like Kamek/Magikoopa and a Yoshi egg (with biggie beads). I recently made a Princess Peach/Toadstool one (in her NES SMB style) :-D
@ukretrogameaddict I was thinking of doing some amiga game sprites and some atari 8 bit characters, no one has done them so far other than Mario and Sonic etc...I wanted to give this stuff a try, would love to say I made this.lol..I've seen a few tutorial on Yt to how there made, now off to ebay to see how much the beads and slates cost..will do a vid if I ever make them..but great work from you, really cool stuff.;)
@moonlight0murder just at a local toy shop you can get them online at loads of stores - it's a bit of a cost to get started but when your up and running it's quite cheap - good luck!
Ask for Hama Beads, Perler Beads, or Iron-on-beads. They are in children's craft section at walmart, I don't have a Jo Anne where I live but they have a nice little section in Michaels but I had a hard time finding them. By the way they are NEVER in the bead section (at least I've never seen them there).
im kinda of afraid to make big ones only because it wastes my perler beads :( lol. And I don't work, I only use my allowance money to go to a local arts&craft store, im all into art, painting, sketching, and now perler beads. I love it.
@valentinodarog we just found a pic of mario and just copied it into bead form - it takes quite a while to do but it came out looking good, can't really tell you more than that really - good luck beading!
Those are very awsome, i've read through the comments and was just wondering where you two picked up the designs. Did you pick up premade patterns or do you have a program on the comp that makes them into the perler grid or anything?
@UKRetroGames hi Ukretrogames - right she's off at the minute with a bad back so beading's taking up her free time till the back gets better - let me know which ones your interested in or any ideas you have - i'm sure we can sort you out a couple - although i couldn't post a massive one so it's just the small ones up for grabs - there about 6" long - let me know Ukretrogameaddict
@ukretrogameaddict Heating is the hardest part for me. I'll take your advice on it. I'm getting started on Final Fantasy monsters, which are difficult but absolutely fun.
@DDGreyfox hi greyfox - let me know which ones your after and i'll see what we can do..... making some schematic's tonight or we could make you a few up - thanks for watching!
@MapleBedas just take your time on a low heat and try to turn over the design to iron on both sides if possible - then cross your fingers - or its another one for the bin!
@shinoanbu slowly on a low heat and cross your fingers! try and iron on both sides if possible - some times they just break up then end up in the bin : ( good luck
they look insane! i made a P-wing necklace out of mine and it looks pretty good, u can see it in my 'pimping my sister' vid lol, i flatten mine so that rather than circles, they end up looking like pixels, it only really works with smaller ones tho lol
Where do you buy the beads?. Im bulk or did you buy those colors all individually! D; Ive really wanted to get into this for awhile but dont know where to start. Thanks!
which program are you using to get such smooth patterns for the images? All the programs I find seem to be very choppy and not as well balanced in terms of colors. Please help :)
Buonasera tantissi complimenti sei molto molto bravo vorrei farti una domanda dove posso trovare gli schemi per queste meravigliose opere? Grazie mille
go on google or yahoo images and look up the character or something you want to make then sprites after it, for example I just made the Resident Evil Umbrella logo, so I looked up "Resident Evil Umbrella Sprite"
I cannot approve more of this video and this hobby of pixel art!

I've never seen a perler bead board that fit something that big on it! Where'd you get a board to fit the giant ones?
My jaw was dropping through the whole video. O_o
where do u get the patterns from by the way great gf
WOW DUDE, I've seen some things made in my time, but those last 2 are shit hot... cant wait to see more of these videos
question do you deal with the wax paper sticking to the beads and how can i stop it ?
@ukretrogameaddict Heating is the hardest part for me. I'll take your advice on it. I'm getting started on Final Fantasy monsters, which are difficult but absolutely fun.
that's incredible!!!!
were did you get the ones thats already sorted out?
how do you do to stop them getting bending easily but keep them hard and straight as sword?
ITS A GUUMBALL!!!
@jpopaddict2 - Muchaels has them lol and so does Walmart in the crafting section (mostly for kids)
bb no... that bowser design was not a "dragon ball of goombas", it was one of the moves from Bowser's Inside Story.
the massive ones are classic
@DDGreyfox hi greyfox - let me know which ones your after and i'll see what we can do..... making some schematic's tonight or we could make you a few up - thanks for watching!
