TL;DR - Using identical software versions seems to solve all "does not exist" type errors.

Reposted without direct links to where to get these file versions, because TH-cam seems to have sniped the original.
- Note that I already have Git installed, and so I cannot confirm how much having Git installed helps (as mentioned in other comments). I would still download the latest version of Git just to cover your bases.
- I originally tried running this on a 2023 Community Edition of IntelliJ, installed to the D: drive. I ran into several errors involving Netty being misplaced when trying to run the server (Understandable! Netty has not been updated in a long while.) It seemed to be present where it should be, and I just had a feeling that this was not actually Netty's fault, considering how many other things were breaking with no common internal factor. So I restarted completely as follows:
- The version of IntelliJ used in the video is 2021.3.2, which can be found on their Other Versions page by scrolling down to 2021.3 and clicking the dropdown box next to it. I made sure to install it to C: this time, just in case.
- The version of Java 8 used is 8u311, or jdk-8u311-windows-x64.exe (Page title: Java SE 8 Archive Downloads (JDK 8u211 and later))
- I cleared out and re-extracted the server and client folders, to undo the inherent changes made by opening them in the 2023 version. I also made sure the extracted folders were on the Desktop in their own folder, as in the video, instead of in my D: drive.
- Followed the steps per the video here.
- Using these exact settings solved all of my issues with "missing files" in the server files, and also solved the Alertify issue in the client files. I was able to run the server/client without any further issues at the time of posting. o7

I've been following along with the video and I was able to run the client successfully but when I tried to run the source it throws an error "java: package org.mindrot.jbcrypt does not exist".
It's very possible this was just a problem with my own setup, but in case anyone else runs into this:
I was able to correct the above error by downloading a jar of mindrot.jbCrypt elsewhere online and then adding it to the Necrotic Source project in IntelliJ.

I’m pretty sure that I just found a .jar file of jbCrypt somewhere and added/imported it to the project in IntelliJ though.

It seems the "Alertify" folder was giving an error that a dependency was not properly imported. I'm extremely unfamiliar with Java, especially using it IntelliJ.
I managed to remove the folder, rerun the client and it ran with no errors.
I doubt it's best practiced, but it's working now.

yeah its not letting me have both open at once, i cant even open two of the programs separately....
fixed it, had to find a fix on google, allowing multiple instances doesn't come pre selected.

I had the same problem because I told it to open in the same windows and like a dumbass I selected don't show me again. I could not find the option to show the dialog box. So I had to uninstall IntelliJ and install it. You have to select New Window when you open the other project up.
How do we get it so where others can join your server?

Du hast in der Client Run.bat den falschen Pfad stehen da du eine andere Version von Java verwendest. Gehe einfach unter C:\Programme x86\Java\XXXX\YYYY\bin den Link kopierst du dann in deine Client Run.bat anstelle von der vorhandenen
