Check the hydraulic fluid . They make that noise when low on hydraulic fluid. If after filling the reservoir it still makes that noise it might be a hydraulic problem.

hydraulic motor major is bad. test hydraulic pressure. should be 1100lbs from the hydraulic motor. isolate noise by placing a rod to your ear and the other end to parts of the machine to isolate the noise.
