+lauritzmh I don't really plan on doing many - for a few reasons, I don't know what to do them on, the game is still so early in alpha that tutorials might not be so useful on the long term, I've never been a huge fan of "learn how to exactly build this building tutorial", I also like spending my time on the usual series more, which is also more or less tutorial-ish. That said though, if you have any good suggestions or requests, feel free to shoot!
Thanks for the tips. I'm still brand new to the game. There's not a lot of beginner level basics for building. Most are advanced building that don't show how to do these basic tips or using hot keys etc.
It is amazing how you can figure out ways to use the pieces. often people would just see the pieces as they were and piece them out like in old rct games.. and be done with it. But it is so much more versatile and you showed it!
Building with limited objects but with extensive tools always brings out the most creative minds and that's a wonderful thing. Amazing work as always, Silvarret! I can only imagine what you'll come up with once the catalog of objects gets updated.
Just got the alpha and in the process of putting together my first youtube video showing off my Planet Coaster park. This video answered every question I had about the ability to move objects to achieve more detail options as I have seen in your and other's videos. THANKS!
I almost get angry at how much of a genius you are with creating this stuff... haha. I discovered you through Planet Coaster and now I'm subscribed. Your videos are truly candy for the eyes!
Had a very tough week and I'm super glad I stumbled across your channel. There's Just something about seeing your amazing creations come to life that I find almost therapeutic. Just wanted to say thanks for making my week a little easier.
perfect tips. Trying to get creative in my park building it all pirate themed. But in the long run buildings start looking similar with the generic stuff used in the intended way. So I will be themeing my shops a bit better now and have more variation. Thanks for this.
Ive recently got the alpha version of this game and really enjoy it but struggle a lot with the controls! I've not played games for years and years but when I was a kid I loved RCT. I bought myself a gaming laptop and I was like a child when I got home and could t wait to download this. I've been watching all of your episodes but when it came to me having a go, not even close to how creative you are lol. This tutorial has helped a lot so thank you very much. You should do some like this for building a coaster!! Anyway cheers for the guide. Any tips on controls (keyboard or mouse) would be excellent, I'm all over the place but maybe out of practice. Keep up the amazing work. I will certainly keep WATCING :)
Great video. This along with Skye Storme's latest video on making stone columns comes in very handy for creating lots of extra variety out of the limited pieces we have to play with. :D
THANK YOU! Thank You! Thank you. thank you. I have been trying to take screen shots of your other videos, to try to figure out all your awesome techniques. Now you've done it for me :)
+Silvarret the ctrl-D trick . . . as described it only works when copying a single piece building. However I've reported a 'bug' to Frontier where it happened to me with a building with many pieces already in it. sadly I don't know how I did it. but it is possible, I have a screen shot and a save file to prove it. many pieces on the original grid, and a new grid active. I've spent 5 hours trying to reproduce it. have you ever seen it? it seems to occur somewhere during extensive roof editing with lots of ctrl-D action.
Thank you for helping. I've been watching pro designing on TH-cam, and I tried and failed so hard trying to adjust it without the locking grid confines last night. Ugh.
Need more vids like this Silv! Im trying to create buildings and if you are gonna make us feel like poop with your gorgeous buildings you should show us your tricks!! LOL I kid but seriously. Would love to see more vids like this for alpha 2 and 3 :DDD Thanks for all your great vids!!
I was looking for an advanced control video to use on the Planet Coaster Wiki article I just started for advanced editing and saw this one. Unfortunately, the controls you used are outdated. Any plans on making a more current video?
Thanks you, I've struggled a lot with objects changing directions while I applies them on a building with Shift+Ctrl. Not always possible to hover the mouse over the initial surface when doing advanced stuff. I think Frontier should fix so the object don't affects by what the mouse hits in the background. I don't find any occasion were this would be of any advantage for the player.
Nice set of Tips & Tricks there thanks. I hope that Frontier are planning to actually integrate some of these thing into the game. Seems a bit backwards that you have to kinda fool the game into letting you use tools to there full potential. It even seem's like they went out of there way to limit some of the tools potential, like paths! OMG paths are a joke right now.
The content is mind boggling, even with replay, and after all this time, I'm wondering if any of this still applies? Bought the game a week ago, it is nothing like RCT. Yes you can build the coaster of your dreams, (or so that say) but the effort getting there is maddening.
Oh. Well, that would have been helpful to know in the past. Ah, well, I haven't done much in this game anyway as of yet as I'm either out of time to play it or I don't feel I have enough inspiration. :L
These little tricks that you show in the beginning: Placing a smaller thing so the grid is smaller, or a roof so you have smaller increments in height...Do you think that is considered a bug? I hope that it's easier to use in the later stages of the game because that seems unintential. I also noticed while playing Planet Coaster Alpha that when you place a simple wall (e.g.: stone wall) you can rotate it to all the directions and angles you want but as soon as you place that wall and enter the building mode for that specific building of the wall you just placed (with the grid) you cannot spin it freely anymore. Only 45 degrees. How do you bypass that? Everytime I create a building that is only 45 degree walls and then try to add other angle walls to it (for example in a castle) I always have to make multiple "buildings" so I can make different angles. In the end one castle is made with tons of different "buildings". That really bothers me. EDIT: Next time I shouldn't post a comment after watching only 30 seconds of a video :p By duplicating you can do it, thanks! Seriously though. Don't you think they will add options for that in the future? makes more sense rather then using all these hidden tricks
+Palaber1984 it Ok i can build walls in any direction. BUT how can i rotate Walls if i build maybe a castle, and i want a section of that castle which goes diagonal without starting ne gridn and building. I tried it but i dont know how it works. The way you explained it does work if you build ne new building and starts with one wall. But not in an existing building! i hope you can undertand me!
Great tutorial and great vids! Something doesn't work for me though. If I have 1 roof tile, then exit and then cntrl+D then it will duplicate but it will be in a seperate building?
Bro u should recreate carowinds or paramount carowinds if u kan find enough reverences to the names of rides n old themes they had going back in the 90's. I tried to find some on the workshop but kame up empty handed lol it bordered the south carolina n north carolina state lines and anything paramount was there from nickalodeon stuff to scooby doo stuff. It had a section devoted to waynes world called waynes world lol even had the iconic dinner wit the hockey guy on top n behind it had the biggest n one of the oldest coasters kalled the hurler and they had a dropzone and at the back of the park where they had the interactive 3d theater wit the motion seats itd play 007 n spy kids movies and stuff till the 3d sponge bob blew up idk if they ever changed it lol but be side that they had thunder road n it was front n backwards rollercoasters that were identical n laid beside each other as one roller coaster one track was forwards the other ud ride going backwards. N across from that section had top gun beside the side entrance Hope the discriptions help if u or any one is curoius and tries to look it up , i was hoping to show a couple people like kids n wife or buddies simce i kant give them a virtual tour on my phone of the place lol n since i wasnt able to take them while i was near there just thought id throw it out there kuz i seen a good kouple of disney land stuff on the ps4
I know this video is older but my ocd is kicking in because I do not have that flat roof piece in my game @ 0:38 . I do not even have anything similar to it? Please advise. Yes, I've been subbed to you for years...
The Ctrl+D tip is great, but for me, it seems to only work at the beginning of a building when we place the first piece. If I use Ctrl+D at this moment, it would work and be seen as only one building. But, if I put more pieces in the building, exit the editing and go back. Select a piece and Ctrl+D, I'm unable to free rotate the piece. Am I missing something? Thanks for help.
I can't get my wall to turn a 90 degree angle. It is so annoying. I can turn other objects 90 degrees with no problem, but the Z and the mouse will not work when it comes to wall, roof, acrhes and maybe few others. It seems to work with minor decortive items such as the bench, lights, but not the major items such as the wall. I see in your video, you are not having any issues with this. Is there a keyboard command I am missing. Anyone with the awnser please reply, thank you.
Hi @Silvarret: I have a Question about your Tutorial Video. Iam a German Streamer and Letsplayer, i love your Videos and also this Tutorial. Is it okay if i take your Tutorial and do it in German? For shure i will let you Credits in the Vid and the final Video. Just let me know if its okay. thnx.

I'm addicted to your current Planet Coaster play through. It's so detailed and good
It is amazing how you can figure out ways to use the pieces. often people would just see the pieces as they were and piece them out like in old rct games.. and be done with it. But it is so much more versatile and you showed it!

Like normal Silvarret, you give us the basics and it's up to us to practice which I find to be a lot of relaxing fun.
this game is so detailed for a roller coaster game, its insane

Just wanted to say thanks for making my week a little easier.
+Mitchell l You're welcome! And there's really something about comments like this that makes them the best to get - so thank you too.
so pumped to play this, this game strikes the perfect balance of creativity and restriction. reminds me of halo reach's forge mode. great tutorial
"THANKS FOR WATCING"
I just started my planet coaster series this week. This game has a learning curve to get used to. Hope to be good like you soon.
This gives me like a thousand new things to do. Thanks!

This guy has definitely improved his scenery building!
You gained so many subscribers this week :D
I like how Alla Turca is playing in the background :)

Thank you for helping. I've been watching pro designing on TH-cam, and I tried and failed so hard trying to adjust it without the locking grid confines last night. Ugh.
Congratulations with 25k subs Silv-Chan!
+Rekel thank you pekel
+Silvarret Yw ;)
These tips are awesome. I hope it applies to the final game as well.
I watch your Cities Skylines videos for inspiration but you might get me back into Planet Coaster too.
How far Planet Coaster will go ?!! Best game of the year already ! And this is just the alpha...
These tips are sooooo helpful. Thank you very much
thnx!!! this video is very helpfull :D
I was looking for an advanced control video to use on the Planet Coaster Wiki article I just started for advanced editing and saw this one. Unfortunately, the controls you used are outdated. Any plans on making a more current video?
Yeah this is really out of date.. haha there are controls to adjust the grid size now.
holy shit, your subs have gone waayyyyy up, feels like only yesturday my lil silv only had a couple thousand
Silvarret, you're my hero and my guru!!
Yes please Silvarret. Can we have some more building tutorials. Thank you.
Excellent tip from me:
Learn the planet coaster rules so you can break them later
Thanks you, I've struggled a lot with objects changing directions while I applies them on a building with Shift+Ctrl. Not always possible to hover the mouse over the initial surface when doing advanced stuff. I think Frontier should fix so the object don't affects by what the mouse hits in the background. Silvarret has created this video in 2016, the creators of the game has updated the game drastically to improve the performance and gameplay.
It would be cool if they could implement a Mack Mega Launch coaster
Great video! So many good tips and tricks!
Thanks for making this. Would you mind doing an updated video for this?
Really, all of this should already have been explained In the game.
Silv, when's Grizzly Valley coming out? I'm dieing waiting!
It's watching, not watcing but great video!
+Silvarret So helpfull, I love your pc videos!
You forgot to mention that you can ''Press ""F"" to center an object ^^.
Oh. Well, that would have been helpful to know in the past. Ah, well, I haven't done much in this game anyway as of yet as I'm either out of time to play it or I don't feel I have enough inspiration. :L
i hear the rondo alla turca in the background but great video helps me better make rides
Ive been having fun with this game so far.
That's a cool tip video, thanks for sharing!
Very good tipps, thanks a lot!

I enjoyed watcing this.
This is a game where exploiting is beneficial.
Very good tips. Thanks a lot for this vid.
ah very nice, this is what i searched for. thx

Such useful tips!!! Thank you!!
Thank you so much, this video is great!!
Thank you so much, this tutorial is just in time! :D
excellent tutorial! thank you!
you just earned a new subsriber sir! =D
Unfortunately, it appears the duplication trick no longer works in Alpha 2 :c
thank you so much ! this is so helpful !
Great tutorial and great vids! Something doesn't work for me though. If I have 1 roof tile, then exit and then cntrl+D then it will duplicate but it will be in a seperate building?
Great video!
Great as usual, Silvarret. May I ask what your system specs are?
+Michael Haneline www.reddit.com/r/silvarret/wiki/faq here you go
The duplication trick doesn’t work anymore 😥
Do you plan to, or have you already done a Scenery Tips and Tricks video for Cities Skylines?
Great Tips, Thanks!
I get to the point of exiting out then selecting and Ctl+D that's fine but no blue grid appears and it then becomes a separate building.
Damn. You're impressive.
has the duplication trick been removed now? I can't replicated it :(
You are a wizard
Great tips, glad I watc this. :P
Great tips.
Noscope The Ride 3 When this game is fully released

Really having problems with curved walls. It keeps showing each part as a separate building!
How do I make a hole where the top of a building is level with the surface? The height of a shop with a ceiling
+Widlan I think that's supposed to happen (though I'm not sure) - I believe it only works if the building you duplicate is made up of just one piece.
So @Silvarret
what 10 good things and bad things do you think about the game and would you recommend this game to over fans?
very helpful!!! thank you!
the #3 duplicating trick doesnt work anymore? i been trying to make a angled wall on the same grid as another building
Nice video and Tips but actually the 3rd duplicate trick always create a new building .. any idea why it doesn't work ?(anymore ?)
I can't get my wall to turn a 90 degree angle. It is so annoying. Hello I now that a hold video but i can't do the ctrl+D tips to do smoth wall in one build , it's now differente ? plz (sorry for my english i'm french)
Okay I'm REALLY having a hard time making paths on slopes. Can you please make a video on sloped paths? I wanna rip my hair out right now
I don't think I can... same issues here, paths and terraforming just don't like each other in the game.
Silvarret
Thanks for the reply .. What would you suggest I do as a work around then?
Chris Campbell To be very blunt - a lot of trial and error. Keep the slopes very gentle. I also like to make the slopes the paths will go over first, then build paths over them, and only finally actually do the rest of the terraforming.
I'm glad you said this because I thought I was just doing it wrong.
discorobotz
Its actually a lot easier in the release update. Make make your general slope & smooth it out. Works pretty well.
Anything on saving scenery items? I just made Pluto from scratch, like I saw in Workshop but when I select the entire item to blueprint it doesn't do it.
Planet coaster is part of the steam sale at a whopping 75% off!!
you missed the H in watching
+Rob Crook It adds to the charm
Pretty helpful thanks
Excellent
No time-lapse building video today? :(
