Peppermint Park was a series of VHS tapes meant for kids featuring terrible puppets, awful songs, boring arts & crafts, garbage storytelling, and other various oddities. The intent was to create a Sesame Street knockoff for the children's video market, but after 5 or 6 volumes, the concept failed.
And judging by the various reactions by Chad here and the videos themselves, ultimately for a good reason.

Last year my home room class went to this puppet show. Idk who decided we should go to it since everyone except us was under the age of 5. But basically it was nothing but creepy puppets being followed by people crawling on the floor pushing them. No joke. They were wearing black bag looking things on their heads, sooo it looked like the puppets were being followed by death. Everyone still talks about the cringe. And I really wish I could’ve recorded it.

Back in the 80’s Sesame Street was in its prime, and other companies wanted to cash in on the popularity, and thus peppermint Park was born as the welfare version of Sesame Street. And it’s as bootleg as you can get.
I'm a puppeteer, and I will say: the puppet designs, despite being nightmare fuel, are very sophisticated. The mechanisms for moving eyes are hard to build into the characters' heads. And some of the performances aren't half bad: the voice of the pig is great. And the marionette performers were not half bad. As someone who is absolutely tragic at performing marionettes, these performers handle it pretty well.

@BlueThunderboltsiren I am not a professional, it is a hobby for me. But I've been doing puppetry since middle school. I am two years out of college, now.
It's fun. It's hard to find others to perform with you. It's also a tough art firm to perform. I have a TH-cam Channel called "Retrospective Roommates" with some more recent work. Gotta post more videos haha

The puppet hands are causing me to have uncomfortable feelings they're just really gross and they don't seem like they're attached to the rest of the puppets it's like the puppet torso and head move independently of the hands

You know what this reminds me of? 'Lift-Off' an Australian education children's show which I hear was developed and "aimed at 3 to 8 year olds based on the ideas of Harvard University development psychologist Howard Gardner". It was even linked to the Australian curricula at the time. There are puppets and even a faceless doll. Australia makes some weird things sometimes.
But that said, it is very interesting, and some cool animations too
