Dae M Yes I definitely notice the tension especially when Donnie pointed out that Mike was being quiet the whole interview and he said " well everybody has things they want to say". That makes me think that Ronnie and Ricky probably complained to Mike that he likes to dominate interviews too much.
Yea there was tension. If you look at BBD's unsung episode, they explain how they were not vibing while making this record. And it shows in this interview.
@@deer.4651 Yeah, they weren't hanging out together that much anymore and Ricky was the one who was mostly in the studio at the time. Ricky sung a lot of the background vocals on this album while Mike & Ron were out doing their own things.
Bobby was smart to released is 3rd album in mid of 92 because he was able to grab some fame off it because new Jack swing sadly was starting to die out and move into Hip hop soul and Artist like BBD and al B. Sure sadly didn’t get the same success at all BBD should’ve released it like early 92
@@lorshmev8146 it also made the top 100 European albums end of 1992. Salt n Pepa and Kriss Kross were the only other urban acts who made that list. He also sold another 350 k units in Japan so WW he still sold more than Mary J Blige and Jodeci. 🤷♀️
@@jhonram2496 totally agree ‼️‼️hip hop soul was starting to take off, Bobby was the only successful male swing artist in 92-93, those years R&B groups, and Woman of R&B was taken over

They should had put it out in 92 and should had took their time with it and really unite to collaborate on the LP but its not bad
Mike was in his feelings, lol. The Hootiemack album was good. The problem was the first single "Above the Rim" was trash and should have never been on the album. A lead single can make or break an album.
donnie simpson done interviewed every damn body that was good back in the day
bbd was no joke
Ricky, my fav member of New Edition with the Duke Bobby Hurley jersey on. My fav team
Var Brook he's my favorite too
We know who he is
They ALL (New Edition) were so soft spoken back then.
Actually, now that I think about it, they all still are.
can Ronnie's shoes get any bigger? he's like a giant.
PrincezzKay KeNyEtTa he got that long DI**
shay Washington ohhhh shiii😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂👏

And that briefcase lol

Pissed cuz he knew the Boyz Men were about to ditch his ass after ABC hit the ultimate Sophomore Slump
It's very clear that Mike was pissed/pressed in this interview. It's also clear that guys weren't very motivated to do the Hootie Mack album.

wbbd bootcity remix was actually my favorite album.
Def better than Hootie Mack and everything after lol
@@Drewan27 EXACTLY!
That remix album was hard ass hell
@@Drewan27The latest album from 2019 was pretty damn good. Nothing compares to thier New Jack Swing sound tho.

Bobby should've released his 3rd album in 90 or the latest 91 .
In 92 new jack swing was kinda dying out plus his marriage did affect his sales
