  • joining MZ ETZ 250 crankcases. The continuing rebuild of a race engine to the specification of BMZRC (British MZ Racing Club). Looking for wear on the primary drive. And handy tips on locating the dimples on the oil shields for the main bearings.

    A couple of points....Heating the right case up to spitting hot rather than the recommended 100 C will fry the Wellseal on contact...not good. Also it is easier to fit the the right case THEN the oil guide disc which can now be easily located in the correct position, then fit the bearing circlip... then and finally the oil seal which can be positioned on the shaft more carefully...

      Thanks for the extra tips. I can see how putting the circlip and seal would be easier after the cases are joined.

    Wellseal to one side of the case only?
