    Great unbiased review from a true master. I own 12 of these Pro Divers in different colors and they all perform very well. Invicta makes 65,000 different styles and combinations of watches for everyone including kids, adults, business people, sports fans, movie fans... They also make some experimental watches that are gaudy and "over-the-top." They don't use middlemen that much in their distribution network and they've opted to sell large quantities of watches at low-profit margins rather than sell a few at enormous markups. The IWG (Invicta Watch Group) is a global behemoth with sales in access of $100 million dollars. Every watch has a 3-year warranty. Pretty impressive for the price. Great channel!

    Loving these honest videos on the Invicta Pro Diver. For the price I think it's still an amazing watch. I'm thinking of modding mine with an acrylic crystal to give it even more of a old time look. I've never had issue with acrylic as it's easy to fix with a little toothpaste or poly watch and I always preferred the look over sapphire or mineral crystal.

    I've had about 6 of the different versions of this line of ProDivers. Most of them I've modded with different dials and hands, maybe sapphire crystals. Still an incredible bargain as you've mentioned.

    • @richardperrettwatchmaker
      @richardperrettwatchmaker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi JD! So much fun to mod these little guys ... I must do a video on that sometime soome. What would you judge you most successful Mod please? Richard

    • @jdkimple
      @jdkimple 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@richardperrettwatchmaker Most successful mod from my point of view? Removing the logo from the case, going with and Explorer dial, Plongeur hands, a green bezel insert, single domed crystal. Parnis bracelet, only because it had glidelock. Was going to regulate it, but it was already at +2 sec/day.
      Most successful as far as other people's reaction? That started as a mistake where I put the dial in the oven to even the color of the indices and the all turned medium to dark brown (black & "gilt" dial). After much consternation, I "aged" the hands in coffee grounds in the oven. Single domed mineral crystal, dark gray leather band, new Black/Gold insert with an older lume pip. Now it looks like a well-cared for 70 year old watch. I've even had watch geeks ask me if it was a Tudor.

    • @richardperrettwatchmaker
      @richardperrettwatchmaker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice review. I had no doubts, as I purchased my first 40 mm Pro Diver 12 years ago, and now have added one Pro Diver and 2, 47 mm Grand Divers. They all have the same movement as yours, and they keep excellent time. I have gone snorkeling in Cozumel with them and had no problems what so ever. The most I have paid for any of them was $125 USD...which is very reasonable considering what you get in the Pro Diver.

      @@richardperrettwatchmaker the snorkeling there is amazing! My wife and I went there and to the Grand Cayman islands the first time for our honeymoon. Both places are amazing, and we go back every couple of years. Being mobility impaired... swimming is one of the few activities that I can still participate in without worrying about injuring my legs. So, I really enjoy swimming in the nice, warm water in both places.

      @richardperrettwatchmaker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HI Vik 351 ... before the fix it was 'very sweet'. After the fix it was nearly very sweet is the most accurate answer. I have heard others say they have had issues and particularly with the 'waved edged bezel' which is slightly harder to get a good grip on. I guess you could follow the steps in this video and put a little grease on the inner part of the bezel to ease it. Only a little though! Hope this helps ... Richard

    The only thing I don't like about mine is the invicta on the side of the case. I like the feel of it, the size, it seems decently made, and of course that seiko mov't. I have a gold one I got secondhand but the gold made me feel like a gangster so I got a nice two tone one -- my first ever two tone watch (I'm a plain steel dude). I love it.
    Gratified to know that water resistance holds up, I intend to get mine submerged.

With several watches to do it makes sense I think to get yourselve an inexpensive watch back press like this ... amzn.to/2T5jx2f this will give the size options with the swappable dies and the leverage you need to get the backs on without any real effort. Usage is common sense really .... hope this helps sir! :)

    Gold sport watches from any manufacturer up to and including Roles Subs are straight out gross.

      Gross? Why? Care to explain? I come here for facts, not personal opinions.

      No accounting for taste I guess. We do facts too! Stay tuned!

      @@richardperrettwatchmaker Thanks. The person who posted the “gross” comment never has wakened up with the current watch hypocrisy. How many of those who buy “dive watches” actually use them for diving purposes? I personally know of none. “Gold watches” are a piece of jewellery. There is certainly personal taste here. To each his own. Period. Don’t force your taste onto others. Waste of other people’s time.

      I mean I personally don't like gold sport watches but calling them gross is a bit much if I'm honest.

    Very disappointing. I want to know whether it can stand a 20m holiday dive, a tenth of it's stated limit. A baby bath style gentle splash is not a field test. Less of the dressing for dinner, less of the one plus minutes unnecessary intro and take it diving please.

    I like your technical reviews. What’s the measuring app on the iPad?
