Not saying sacking him wasn’t the right thing to do , but how many more managers are going to suffer the consequences for these overpaid , bang average players ? They literally turn up for seasons finish anywhere between 2-8 in the league and get paid world class money ? When u look around the league and see the likes of salah , de bruyne on 300k+ a week they have earned that over their career through their personal performance and the team winning trophies . They play for teams who consistently challenge for top honours in European and domestic football . Players only come to us because of the name on the shirt and the pay packet they will receive the clubs been a joke for 10+ years there is no ambition so how are any managers supposed to succeed when the same virus sits throughout the squad season after season . I'm disappointed that none of you can pick a genuine stern manager. All of you, (Manchester United fans on social media) are calling on these average managers. Shocking at the names you keep putting forward.
Who do you think United can get. They have a mediocre squad, sit 14th in the league, have years of issues with the same players, bloated contracts, social media queens, amd years behind the top 4.
The fact that we don’t have a recognised striker to guarantee 25 goals means that it doesn’t matter who they bring in, the season was always going to be a write off. We’ll get a bounce because the fixtures coming up are vastly easier than the ones we started with. Then it will resort to the same performances as now.
havertz scored 13 goals. We have one of the best strikers that has ever been at club coaching them. There is only so much you can coach. A lot comes down to instinct and reading the game. Some have it and some don’t. We currently have decent strikers that and not natural finishers.
give me one example of a manager in the last 10 years at any club who was as awful as ten hag has been and turned it around. there were zero signs that he was going to get any better if he was given more time, which he’s had plenty of
Both arteta and Klopp had struggles from 18 months to 2.5 years. It's a tough time as they are trying to integrate the new squad they have built. EtH has been very unlucky with injuries at this point.
3rd-8th-14th. Negative goal difference in that time. Europe comically bad. That’s a bad downward trend. No evidence to show he will turn it around. So many clubs change managers and improve. It’s necessary.
I've been critical about EtH's tactics and overall performance and effect in the club since the first year but this was just wrong. The tactics HAVE improved. The team have looked like absolute question marks in front of goal in previous seasons, they were creating more chances now. Midfield was unbalanced, looks better now. He seemed to have fixed Rashford and also Casemiro this season. Even Antony was looking better when he played not to mention Eriksen and Rasmus, among others, who all improved. He should've gotten the rest of the season, we wouldn't be relegated, that's just ridiculous.
You gotta take into account all the circumstances Eth had to deal with. IMO he didn't have enough time to operate after all the issues were fixed or progressing towards being fixed.
The only improvement is in your delusional dreams We went from terrible last season to average this season against midtable mediocrity As soon as we played a decent team we got completely outplayed Spurs / Liverpool To say Antony has improved is complete bonkers We are one loss from a relegation fight so need to wake up ffs
@@BreakerOfFasts lol, believe me I have. And again, I agree with you - but football is a results business. After the issues we had last season, there was very little room for errors like we saw against Twente, Brighton and Westham and for results like Spurs and Liverpool. Yes the performances have been better than the (rock bottom bar) of last season, but without the wins to back it up, he wasn't going to get the time he would have needed. At this point, it's for the best really.
there is no way you watched the spurs and liverpool games and thought that was anything other than a disgrace, even in games against poor teams we never looked like we were in control which is the bare minimum we should expect. the drop in standards is embarrassing
think when looking for a new manager we should consider 3 things. 1. Tactical flexibility. Ten hag was too structure and stuck in his ways. The new manager needs to adapt tactics based on the opposition. We need a plan B if plan A doesn’t work. Also adapting style to best fit the current players we have. 2. Accountability. We need a manager who can take accountability and realize what works and what doesn’t work. The countless amount of time ten hag did the same thing over and over and expected a different outcome was mad. 3. Game management. We have to manage games a lot better. We need a way to take the sting out of the game when we are leading. We need players who will show up for 90 minutes not oh well we had a good 30 minutes. I want to see unity and fight in this United team. Good player management is also part of that.
Ultimately, there is more of a feeling of relief, rather than real true joy. Wanted ETH to do well, and honestly that cup final was one of the greatest memories of being a United fan. But you CANNOT look at this season and see any sort of movement, progress etc Good luck to him, and more so, good luck to whoever has to lead this group of muppets.
We've hired the best available managers with the most glowing CV's multiple times now, and it hasn't worked. We need to stop repeating the same mistake and look for the right personality instead of a CV. Sir Alex and Sir Matt both made their names at United (mostly). Our next manager needs to have a glowing CV when they eventually leave or retire from the club. Sir Alex certainly learned a lot from Sir Matt, so now we need a candidate who learned a lot from Sir Alex to continue our glorious legacy. We don't need a COACH, (A ridiculous Americanised role) we need a MANAGER. Someone who will eventually have the same power that Sir Alex and Sir Matt had. INEOS need to do something different and brave and hire someone with the right temperament and attitude as this is what United is lacking right now. Roy Keane would be the best appointment. He was there through most of Sir Alex's era, and he saw first hand what it takes to be a successful MANAGER at Manchester United. The club desperately needs his personality and his honesty and in my opinion he is the perfect choice to bring the fighting spirit back to the club. He is by far the most stand-out candidate in my opinion, and I'm surprised that others can't see this OBVIOUS choice. I will be so disappointed with INEOS if they fail to recognise this opportunity. We desperately need that NEVER GIVE UP attitude and fight from someone who doesn't accept bullshit. I know some of the players wouldn't like him in charge, but he is the right guy who will 100% weed-out all the bad eggs within the team. I know he will be successful and the fans would be so excited to have him back as the BOSS. He is the PERFECT choice for me, and I honestly think Sir Alex would endorse his appointment. Sir Alex and Roy have very similar personalities, and United know that Keane has the winning formula we need. Everything the club is currently lacking such as passion, fight, energy and drive, we all know that Roy Keane would deliver this in bucket loads. I know some people would think this is a crazy idea, but KEANE is still our captain in my eyes, and we need him now more than ever. He is by far the best choice, the OBVIOUS choice, and I have no doubt he would accept the job if he was offered it.
Moyes - nope, that was a terrible hire Van Gaal - nope, was way past it and not on the radar of any other top team Mourinho - was past his best and in full toxic mode as expected Ole - a caretaker with no exerience Ragnick - caretaker ETH - rejected by Spurs for lack of charisma Out of those 6 managers what ones would a top European team have gone for?
@@yingyang1008 I know, it's crazy how obviously bad that list is. Out of all of these managers, Olé was the best with the most exciting football. The dressing room needs a personality like Roy Keane. He is the stand-out candidate in my eyes.
The strategic review discovered 2 main things, 1st there are no clear and obvious managers good enough for United. 2nd sacking Ten Hag at that point would have an effect on our PSR meaning we had less buying power. They could write off this season. However the start to this season was worse than expected so he had to go sooner. But point one is still an issue.
Think Frank is the best option of those mentioned. Premier League experience is crucial imo. There's no point getting someone in from a weaker league AGAIN where they have like 6 competitive matches a season.
@KJ_2020 It seems like Amorim has done a lot of good work, I'm not in the business of writing anyone off because of where they've come from. Pep did nothing but Barca B before he turned the first team into one of the best teams ever for instance.

Perhaps a few seasons in Top 10 conversations (rather than Top 4) will be good for us. It stops the constant arrogant and entitled trophy talk and the whole organisation can focus on the new stadium, new training facilities and a new structure. We need to take a breath and allow time to build properly.
Too little, too late. The board should have realised EtH wasn't the man when he paid £80m for Antony. How can you blame ineos. They support him they look bad, they get rid of him, people would complain. They try to explore options, people criticise. The problem was tactics and has been tactics all along.
Everyone in world football pissed themselves laughing in disbelief that they kept him on - the only exception was Top Reds who bombarded INEOS with petitions and letters
This is football. You fail, you get replaced. Look at Barca and Chelsea this season, new manager, better results. Doesn’t necessarily mean their new managers are better but it was necessary and it helped. Even Liverpool improved and Slot isn’t better than Klopp on paper. It was necessary, they just need to make sure the replacement is good enough. They definitely need some charisma which ten hag had zero of.
Why are people acting as if the sacking of Ten Hag is some kind of tragedy????? The man walks away with a 17mil cheque in his back pocket for gods sake - 17 MILLION. I'm sure winning a few football games and cups is marvelous an' all but I'll say it again - 17 MILLION. Plus, he walks straight into another top job whenever he wants. Get. Some. Perspective.
I probably expected this to happen even though I didn’t want him sacked , however I wish they had have done it in the Summer as it would have given the new manager be that Tuchel or whoever a preseason to assess the squad properly and maybe even sell a a big name like a Rashford or a Bruno that would make the rest of the squad go oh shit they’ve sold him no ones safe as it would have shocked everyone This kind of looks like a Glazer type move by INEOS as they backed ETH only to sack him three to four months later and I can only see this leading to the same old situation and it’s going to be a new rebuild on top of another of 3-5 years of waiting just to compete with City , Liverpool and Arsenal, more deadwood and probably less money to spend depending on where United finish It also leaves INEOS open if this begins another go round of the same cycle as they’ve done the right thing with most decisions but if this backfires then it’s a case of here’s the new boss the same as the old boss
Just a reminder: ETH'S Ajax vs Amorims Sporting Lisbao 4 - 2 Amorims Sporting Lisbao vs ETH's Ajax 1- 5 Dont get your hopes up too high, Utd fans ! ! !
everyone always blames the players but this is a completely different squad to the ones ole and jose had, why do we repeat the same bullshit every time
No one thinks its a penalty, not even Dermot Gallagher, but City fans, not the players on the pitch, not anyone, should be enough to have that knob head investigated.
After a lot of scrutiny recently this was the easiest way for INEOS to buy themselves another 3 years, except the decision looks ill informed, and worrying similar to the Glazers. Even if there is a new manager bounce it ironically proves that the manager wasn't the problem. It was what I've always felt is the problem through multiple squads and thats the players application. Brought about by the fact our club structure is so weak, and there's no discipline so that when you have an authoritarian the players give up eventually (Jose, Erik), or if you have the opposite (Ole) they take advantage of the situation. The same self-serving players now realise that even under new ownership they can get another manager sacked. Very sad time, I liked Erik a lot, a trajectory to long term success isn't always constantly linear, even with the great Sir Alex, but off we go again to repeat the cycle which has lead us here.
The one coach who can play with these players who are lethargic and injury prone... The one who can get the players scoring.. The one who can drop Rashford n bruno n tweak during matches.... The one who can integrate the young players n play an attacking brand of football... The one who can listen to media bs n cope with legendary players making bad comments...

Ineos needs to start to make up for the mistake of retaining ETH. And imo, they need to get a grasp on what exactly is Manchester United Football. What was the footballing style that made United.....United? That's where they need to start. If they decided that they want United to play with all the bells and whistles of the so called Modern Football or as I call it the Pep Style, then they should go out and get a Pep type Manager. That's what Arsenal did. Arteta is Pep mini me and the Gunners are playing Arteta's version of Pep ball. To be fair, Arsenal are use to play in a similar way as Wenger was playing a type of game that was Pep Ball before Pep. With the collection of Players led by Messi that Pep had he just took what Wenger was doing to a much higher level that revolutionzied the game of football into what we consider to be Modern Football. So at least the Gunners have this type of Football in their DNA. If United want to try that road that's fine, then they should go out an hire Pep mini me 2 in Xavi. Then it will be City, Arsenal and United playing their versions of the Barca way. But if United want to play the type of Football United were famous for, firstly they have to understand what that is and then go hire someone who can play that way. The style of Football that made United famous isn't necessarily dead because it's a thing of the past. A good Manager would understand the nuances of what made United good and couple some modern day tweeking. For me, I would prefer United go their own way and play football differently. That would start with hiring a Manager who is not a Pep disciple. Like Ancelotti, or Zidane or even Howe or Frank. United Football should be high pace, high tempo, winger focused, direct attacking game. That's the essence of United. If anyone watched this weekends El Classico, Both Real and Barca played more like the Old United than Pep's Barca. That's the kind of Football United need to play. Leave the high press, playing out from the back, high possession, tiki taka thing to Pep, Arteta and that lot.

Not saying sacking him wasn’t the right thing to do , but how many more managers are going to suffer the consequences for these overpaid , bang average players ? When you have Casemiro rashford on 300k+ , mount on 250k , Antony on 200k , what are you expecting we reward mediocrity and wonder why the attitude of these players is so bad . The finances and the wages theses players get to underperform sets a bad example to younger players coming through and the players we end up signing because if ur a world class player and u play for a team who is challenging for major honours why would u come to united we are a bang average team ? Who do you think United can get. They have a mediocre squad, sit 14th in the league, have years of issues with the same players, bloated contracts, social media queens, amd years behind the top 4.
The fact that we don’t have a recognised striker to guarantee 25 goals means that it doesn’t matter who they bring in, the season was always going to be a write off.
We’ll get a bounce because the fixtures coming up are vastly easier than the ones we started with. Then it will resort to the same performances as now.

give me one example of a manager in the last 10 years at any club who was as awful as ten hag has been and turned it around. there were zero signs that he was going to get any better if he was given more time, which he’s had plenty of
Both arteta and Klopp had struggles from 18 months to 2.5 years.
@AndrewL4me did klopp and alterations go worse each season? He's gone from 3rd to 8th to 14th in 2 and half years, that's embarrassing
Even Antony was looking better when he played not to mention Eriksen and Rasmus, among others, who all improved.

think when looking for a new manager we should consider 3 things.
19:29 Really hope Rio Ferdinand doesn’t jinx it again if RVN wins a few games in a row by saying Rudd at wheel
Ultimately, there is more of a feeling of relief, rather than real true joy. Wanted ETH to do well, and honestly that cup final was one of the greatest memories of being a United fan. But you CANNOT look at this season and see any sort of movement, progress etc
Good luck to him, and more so, good luck to whoever has to lead this group of muppets.
Moyes - nope, that was a terrible hire
Van Gaal - nope, was way past it and not on the radar of any other top team
Mourinho - was past his best and in full toxic mode as expected

@@yingyang1008 I know, it's crazy how obviously bad that list is. Out of all of these managers, Olé was the best with the most exciting football. The dressing room needs a personality like Roy Keane. He is the stand-out candidate in my eyes.
The strategic review discovered 2 main things, 1st there are no clear and obvious managers good enough for United. 2nd sacking Ten Hag at that point would have an effect on our PSR meaning we had less buying power. They could write off this season. However the start to this season was worse than expected so he had to go sooner. But point one is still an issue.
This CV thing does my head in. What's he meant to do at a club like Brentford but what he's done?
Think Frank is the best option of those mentioned. Premier League experience is crucial imo. There's no point getting someone in from a weaker league AGAIN where they have like 6 competitive matches a season.
@KJ_2020 It seems like Amorim has done a lot of good work, I'm not in the business of writing anyone off because of where they've come from. Pep did nothing but Barca B before he turned the first team into one of the best teams ever for instance.

Perhaps a few seasons in Top 10 conversations (rather than Top 4) will be good for us. This kind of looks like a Glazer type move by INEOS as they backed ETH only to sack him three to four months later and I can only see this leading to the same old situation and it’s going to be a new rebuild on top of another of 3-5 years of waiting just to compete with City , Liverpool and Arsenal, more deadwood and probably less money to spend depending on where United finish
It also leaves INEOS open if this begins another go round of the same cycle as they’ve done the right thing with most decisions but if this backfires then it’s a case of here’s the new boss the same as the old boss

Loving the Metallica hoodie Ron!
Marcelo Gallardo would be a good fit for Manchester United.
Bruno should step down as captain

EtH sets a team up to score goals but the players can’t finish. So let’s sack EtH and make the finishing coach head coach. Nicely done.
Worst last season for 34 years. Worst start to this season in the history of the Premier League. That's what got him sacked.
