    Great video! Thank you for assuring that that is ok to have synthetic pieces. There is so much stigma against manmade crystals (I'm guilty of being a snob about it myself) but in a way, it does help against overmining. (Now that I think of it, it does take a lot of ingenuity to create these manmade pieces!) The main problem is just people trying to pass them off as natural or raw and overcharging - that's awesome that your supplier is upfront about what is genuine vs synthetic. I know people are really into aura quartz and opalite - I'm coming around since it IS pretty. :)

      I love this comment! I totally agree with you! Synthetic crystals to help with mining and can be very beautiful! And any crystal can speak to you man made or natural! I agree too some suppliers are in it for the money and sell synthetic for natural and than it’s this cycle of sellers not representing it correctly! I’ve noticed some international and American sellers are truly in it for the money and nothing else. But those seller with a passion to help others and to bring beautiful crystals to people who need them, those are the ones who will last! I hope my videos help people see which vendors are in this industry for the right reasons!

      Some of these are definitely gorgeous and worthy of adding to a collection. If it brings joy, that's all that matters. I just feel it's important for people to be made aware that they're man-made.

    I think it’s really important to note that everything has energy. A rock on the ground has the same amount of energy as the crystal you may have just overspent on. It is absolutely okay to own man-made stones, as long as they are sold to you as so. Never feel guilty for having something that’s glass. It’s pretty. You felt drawn to it. It has energy too.

      @@fklsjdlfkjsdklfasdfs that’s not true, i know you want to sound intelligent but you are not. Millions of watches are made with tiny pieces of quartz that function as a energy transmitter and it holds its own frequency. That quartz crystal serves as the oscillator. The battery sends electricity to the quartz crystal through an electronic circuit. Clearly you are just trying to convince yourself because you enjoyed this video

    • @kate-kw2xl

      @@fklsjdlfkjsdklfasdfs many crystal collectors that believe in and use crystals for their metaphysical and other properties do acknowledge that it’s a placebo. At least from what I’ve seen. It’s about being able to set intentions of what goals you have for yourself (self-love, confidence, personal growth, etc) through an item that can serve as a constant reminder and awareness of that certain goal. Most of these can be achieved through your own actions and setting intentions within yourself, yes, but it’s easier for some people to put that power into other sources, which is why motivational speaking and therapy for non-mental/psychiatric disorder related issues (like self love, confidence, and personal growth) are so heavily relied on.

    • @kate-kw2xl
      @kate-kw2xl 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      @@fklsjdlfkjsdklfasdfs It only becomes a problem when people rely on crystals for mental/psychiatric disorder related issues that do require some level of therapeutic/psychological/medical input. And even worse when it’s relied on for illness and disease. But you’re already aware of that, I’m sure. It’s also all pretty harmless beyond that until people start believing that only certain crystals carry certain properties, forcing them to collect and spend way too much - which I’m sure is a result of marketing strategies - and I agree is what made me cringe in this video as well. Anyways, sorry this is so long, I have trouble expressing ideas without writing a whole essay lol. (I also collect crystals for their beauty but this is just what I’ve seen people explain)

    Just wanna clarify that there are real stones that have the cat's eye effect. This effect is called chatoyancy and it's the reflection of a band of thin inclusions in a stone. Stones that have this effect are chrysoberyl and tiger's eye, to name a couple. So don't immediately disregard a stone as fake if you see that sheen!

    • @aaronh1372
      @aaronh1372 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right! I would guess that Tigers Eye is dyed to get so many colors. I have a rough piece of the yellow, no way is it man-made. Blue and red may be natural as well. The neon colors are typically a dead giveaway as to artificial creation, i.e. the neon pink. When the color runs all throughout the stone, that is indicative of dying. Dyes cannot differentiate layers. Layers can absorb dyes at different rates. The most pronounced example of this imo is blue dyed agates. In conclusion, I would theorize that Tigers Eye with black may be natural..the example shown that is all pink, definitely not a natural color. Though most likely is tigers eye and a natural chatoyancy, unnatural color. I welcome any knowledge on the subject, as I said, I am speculating.

    A thing to note with Opalite and the name Moonstone, there is a crystal called Moonstone (you might be familiar with Rainbow Moonstone, usually white with black and various opalescent inclusions). Genuine Moonstone tends to sell for a more than Opalite, do if you're buying crystals you find some Opalite that the seller is calling Moonstone, they're trying to insist its not glass, and also sell it for a decent chunk of change maybe walk away from that seller quickly.

    Awesome video! While bismuth crystals are formed by human intervention, it's fully a natural material, they don't add anything to it...its heated to liquid form and as it cools, the super rad geometric shapes form. It looks aura coated because they actually use bismuth for aura coat. So if you buy aura quartz, you're actually purchasing a quartz crystal coated with bismuth...the aura coating is mistaken as unnatural, and while you don't get aura coating naturally, it's of natural material.

    Thank you for this video clarifying, for me, some information I had some questions concerning regarding a few crystals I had little to zero personal knowledge about. However, I'd like to, in return for your expertise, return the favor, by sharing with you, my first hand Knowledge, in regards to Cat's Eye. I Personally, have found, gathered, and polished, plenty of True, Natural, Cat's Eye stones over my many years in life. All stones, of which, I collected, in Colorado. I'm not completely sure, exactly where we were specifically, because I was between the ages of 5 to 8 years old at the time. But, I know it was somewhere in the mountains past Denver, and before Pikes Peak. :-) that's the best description I can give you for the location my Aunt-Grandma Jodie and I collected the rocks we later brought home and put through her old rock tumbler process. :-) ALL the gems, when finished and ready to be made into jewelry pieces were beautiful. And ALL of them were of shades of browns and golden brown with streaks of almost 'gold rivers' which flowed through them. :-) So, It IS possible, there may still be some Truly Natural Cat's Eye, pieces roaming about the world, still. :-) I Mean, honestly, the jewelry pieces WE made, Are Some where?? Idk where, but I Know They ARE Real and Beautiful because, I personally gathered them in my tiny little hands, straight from the Beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountain side. ;-) 🔮 & 👍🏻

    I always just think that if you use Opalite or smelting quartz, you might as well just grab a wine glass or touch a window, it’s effectively the same thing… just my opinion 😅

    I am an opalite HOARDER! Just kidding. But really, I have a little variety collection of opalite cause it is so pretty, the beauty of it was what drew me to it and I sometimes meditate with it because it brings me joy and puts me in kiddie mood. I knew from the start it was man made because I recharged it before buying, but I still wanted some and am not ashamed at all

    I also have those crystal towers you showed in your video and I knew that some of them are just smelt or man made. I already thinking of those that they are man made in the first place because of its looks, and thru this video, Ive found out that i am really right. Nice video. Regards from Philippines.

    🔮 Thank u, love ure content. wanted to mention that bismuth occurs in nature. Like u said, you can fake it too, but man-made bismuth looks different. And I was wondering about the magnetic hematit, didn't find anything like this in Germany where Im from, I got those stones you showed there and they are magnetic, but I buyed them as "Magnetit", and they are real. Really interesting🌺

      Yes there’s like a brown/natural colored version that’s natural, but I’m referring to the bright colored ones!

    Can you do a video on how to pick quality crystals? I know it’s all personal preference when choosing, but i sometimes have trouble decided what is considered ‘high quality’

    • @ColdBrewBarbie
      @ColdBrewBarbie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you looking for high quality, orbs are high quality. good color with little to no matrix. deeper color, but not dark (example of this is lavender rose quartz which is just poor quality) buy from supplier who know the industry, they will for sure have insight to high quality vs. low. Unfortunately there are too may crystals to cover with quality. The more you do it the more you'll be able to figure out high vs. low quality!

    ive pretty much ordered a whole collection over the past two weeks online and had to reorder from other supplier some of the stones on my hitlist...like i already know a couple of them are man made and "enhanced" so i whent ahead and doubled up on clear quarts for egsample to make sure i at least get a few real ones. I have a feeling im gonna have to kiss a lotta frogs to get real rose quarts and smokey quarts ...i got a lovely malechite carved tower comming that i know is real and selected by idividual pictures..has natural outer parts left in the piece..

    There is some sort of natural goldstone in Arizona where the sand is really rich in copper. It happens when lightning strikes in the desert. That's why there's a lot of really old native jewelry that has goldstone beads in the southwest. I'm not sure if that would be considered natural. The only thing is that it crumbles apart so easy. I bought a bracelet w some goldstone beads when I was there as a kid and on my flight home to Singapore two of the beads shattered. The lady at the little museum is also who told us so I'm not sure totally but they did say that!
