@@tiagobelo4965 It's how they keep track of leap years; have it leave the start on First of January in a leap year and when it reaches the start again you know it's time to have another; it's been four years.

TT Riders store the memorized version of the whole course in the part of their brain where they used to store their sanity. Plenty of space there for every little detail.
I once rode in a car with Mark Higgins around the course, and I asked him if he treats it like a fast canyon road or if he knows it all... he said if he didn't know every corner, he would be dead. The dude is amazing.
It's not actually hard to learn the entire circuit. The main problem is that this particular version is so far from being accurate, and of such low quality in track details that it's very easy to forget exactly where you are. I wish somebody would do a better version for AC, but I guess that's not going to happen.
It's a goal of mine to do a lap or two around here. However, I know my average speed will probably be closer to 60, regardless of whether I'm in a car or on a bike.

I once worked with a guy who's friend rode at the TT a few times. He crashed at that bridge jump. It was barely able to walk and couldn't lift himself off the seat he sat on nearly two years later. Still spoke about wanting to get back on the bike. Those boys are no joke. All for the love and the passion of the race. Zero fucks given for themselves.
It's fantastic that someone has done the track and it must have taken a lot of work. But do also have a look at the rf2 version as there is more detail making it (slightly) easier to learn. Cars also did race here in the TT (for cars) in the early 20s. There were even some attempts to bring car racing back in the 60s.
Tbh they could easily bring back cars in a TT format with a minute between each car, as overtaking without losing time is very hard. Or they could do the lap in "gates" as in split the lap into 3-4 min TT pieces, so a whole lap isn't ruining by a car crash that blocks the entire road for hours. Just do it in WRC cars or even Formula cars made for hillclimbs (ie with way more suspension than F1/F2 cars)
Yeah, it's cool that someone has made a mod of this track for AC but hopefully it's an early version of a work in progress because visually it looks bad. I've seen GPLaps driving the RF2 version and it looks really nice.
@@barath4545 That would be cool. Maybe they don't because cars would do a lot more damage to walls, fences, houses and pubs than bikes do. Or the bike event is already a lot of work and disruption for the island.

Great video Jimmy, and yeah mad respect to the TT riders. Two examples really bring it home to me, just how close to the edge they really ride: - Rider talking about how he used to judge a particular corner by brushing his helmet against the hedge on the inner corner, until he happened to visit that corner on foot and discovered that the inner corner was actually just ivy covering a stone wall. - Rider doing a lap with a GoPro mounted on top of his helmet, knocked the camera off on a stone wall while going around a corner like that Absolutely mad.
This Ferarri mod is absolutely insane. Thanks for showing it off in the previous video. Driving the bonkers S spec(?) with maximum output in the original monza is an insane challenge. The bumps alone make it so hard to handle. And the banking one wrong twitch and you've yeeted yourself off the planet.
