Unfortunately the girl driving who was saying "natural law, constitutional right, Im traveling" wasn't just making those terms up - she read them on Facebook. There's an entire "movement" about it. She's incredibly misinformed, but many people believe it with full conviction.
Not as many as you think. Most of them are feds trying to get patriotic folk pissed off at the current state of the country to do something stupid on camera.
he should do a video on sovereign citizen interactions they are truly infuriating to watch insist to the police they can drive without a license 😂 but he wouldn’t have fun
Idk. That one where he’s filming the accident was crazy. My father used to be a volunteer fire fighter and he couldn’t stand when reporters showed up. He found it predatory to take pictures of people right after they lost everything they owned, sometimes in tears or in their pjs or underwear watching their life burn to the ground. Or even while they’re actively trying to rescue someone or when they know someone has died from a result of the fire. They document their grief with no respect of their privacy. So idk. I feel like if they asked him not to film the kids he should have stopped.
im assuming it was an accident he was involved in, & he said,”you guys came at me crazy earlier.” so im sure he was recording for his own safety or in case he needed evidence for something later. exploiting people’s grief & sadness after losing their homes, for the news, is way different from that situation.
Pretty sure he's just referring to the first part of the clip. He went over to them after the cop scolded them. Dude said something about "his job" so I'm assuming reporter/ freelance. But it's an accident. Families nerves are already on edge and he's just instigating.
Man, Cody needs to down a rabbit hole on Sov Cits, they are the worst, and funniest to laugh at. Especially, when they try their shenanigans in court rooms, and get shut down by the judges.
“Myyy leeeegggg” not her stealing the line from that fish on SpongeBob 😂 I’m not going home is so addictive btw- getting ready to go out, working out at the gym and everything in between- the cover art was cool too.
My parents lived in HOA.. I never understood why they did that to themselves. Their neighbors bleached their driveway WEEKLY so it stayed flawlessly white all the time, and complained constantly about the height of my parents’ grass (even though HOA had lawn care come to the neighborhood weekly) and the size of my mom’s holiday flags. I could never.
where i live like every neighborhood has an HOA. it’s less of a choice and more of a “if you want to live in a house you have to live with the HOA you get dealt” sorta deal. it’s a nightmare for sure
@@carlybarker6180yeah here it’s either you get an apartment in a big complex or you get a townhouse with an HOA. And HOAs should honestly be illegal. My HOA doesn’t even own the house. My partner’s parent does. How are you gonna tell me what can be on my back patio on property you don’t own??? They literally sent people to remove stuff off our patio and threw away our garbage/recycling bins and a bike that we were gonna fix. We thought they were coming for a pile of weeds and plastic plant holders we hadn’t gotten rid of yet. But they LEFT THAT. WHYYYY
The sovereign citizen thing is an entire rabbit hole in itself, they actually read scripts and practice those lines just cuz they're deluded enough to think it might work.
My dad worked with a guy that did that, he drove every day without a license plate or a license, and had stickers of common law on the bumper. Somehow he was able to manage doing that, I guess it works if you're persistent. But then again that was like 10 years ago.
The fact that we don’t know if the nosy neighborhood Karen was actually hitting on him vs misjudging him as some lurker speaks volumes about how socially inept they are 😂
I saw that clip on a channel that does deep dives on what happens to the viral Karen’s after the video. Like their backlash or whatever. And apparently it was racially motivated (the op was black) and people found where she works and sent them the video and she got fired. That clip is from like 2020-2021 so it’s a few years old lol
I joined the HOA board in my neighborhood after my car was towed being parked in the visitor's section. I would vote against all of their changes and argue about even the slightest thing until I annoyed the other board members into quitting. As the then HOA President, I changed the tow rules, approved any house paint color submitted for a month and then quit right after.
@@Nerodotnet AND they force you to install cameras AND they try and come into your house whenever they see fit AND you don’t even got to vote for them; they get to appoint themselves? I was gonna joke about how that’s literally 1984 but like… yeah. It kind of genuinely is!
16:18 yes they're going about this the wrong way. Yes the law is not on their side. No call Mom they're not crazy for not being comfortable with some strange people recording their children. I have a lot of problems with Japanese laws, but I have fully agree with the sentiment of not being able to film people - especially minors - in public without their permission. Imagine being at a park with your kid and some creeper is just standing there recording your children. You'd feel very upset. Because when is that weirdo doing?
it's also genius because just simply asking them to be on a podcast or something similar is always a guaranteed yes because most of them want any and all opportunities to talk about themselves.
filming & poking at people who are quite literally in the middle of going through something traumatic & wondering why they explode, while not illegal, is still extra extra grimey. someone who lacks empathy should not be anywhere near extreme situations like that.
7:08 “Its true, its true! True story.”
Cody. My guy. Your first video with a “road pirate.” You should definitely do an entire video with these “non-commercial” driving lunatics. They’re so much fun.
I've said this before but I really sincerely think there should be a post-apocalypse movie whose main character is a Karen anti-hero. She has Karen traits that actually help her survive in the apocalypse, AND has negative traits that make it harder and force character growth (so a classic antihero story). It's a natural, entertaining, engrossing arc. The overweening self-confidence and boundary-setting stopped her from being killed early, but then maybe she gets thrown in with like a young Black guy and they have to learn to coexist to survive.
A Black guy shouldn’t have to put up with her bullshit so she can learn basic empathy, poc aren’t just narrative tools to serve for the character development of white people
I thought the second to last one was her aggressively trying to have a one night stand from the beginning. It's just easily overlooked because she's failing sooo hard 😂
My great grandma is a Karen. Once she demanded that someone in my family drive her down to Comcast headquarters to yell at employees. Obviously no one agreed and she had to settle for yelling at them over the phone, over a charge that turned out to be a movie my grandma rented two weeks ago that she told her about and paid her back for
Those who claim they don’t need a drivers license because they’re not driving. They’re traveling are usually the ones that claim their sovereign citizens. A police officer who informed someone trying to claim this ideal said that it was thrown out in the Supreme Court…Thx for this video Cody…we LOVE these…more please!🤭
At 14:14 I kind of understand. I wouldn't want my family members car crash being recorded either. Probably not breaking any rules but just really weird for someone to do.
If there are minors in the video, then the video won't be published with their faces showing. It's not a big deal. Having video footage of the aftermath of a crash can only be beneficial, unless you're up to something shady like insurance fraud.
at the end she even asked nicely and explained pretty calmly and hes still like durr i got to film. idc if hes with an independent news company or some shit, if someone asks you to stop filming i think that should be respected. especially in such a stressful situation, im really confused as to how theyre karens, they just got into a car accident and suddenly have some dude they dont know coming up and filming. like that news is not worth his journalistic respect and integrity.
The guy who was filming the accident on the road (I think it was an accident), was he just a random person? I feel like if my younger sister was in a serious accident and a random stranger was just filming them I would be a bit pissed off too. Especially if the was going to post it online. (Obviously I would not react the way that Karen reacted though lol). Is that just me?
no you're totally right. the "karens" here are just average dumb people who don't know what to say, but their anger is justified assuming we have all the context.
No you’re right it’s a weird situation overall. If the family members wanted to document the accident they would. Some random guy doesn’t need to be there recording😭
That old woman at Michaels @7:33 sounds like the shrimp from shark tale, also I bought a hoodie today so can't wait for that, and I'm begging for you to make a podcast please
as someone who worked at a cigar / smoke / vape / cbd shop for three years, let me tell you…. they will ask for vape recommendations, buy a product, see how to do it, go home, and come back PISSED because they forgot how to refill their vape or didn’t know how to charge it. It was my nightmare
Honestly if my family got in a crash i wouldnt want some stranger filming it either. Not with so many weirdos online who share horrible things like that with eachother, who would want their families most traumatic moments to be passed around on discord by sociopathic neckbeards?
@@BrokenBabydollthat’s the thing though. I feel like there was more to that than just a car crash. The video clip reveals very little about what actually happened
Have yall never been in an accident? Video footage of accidents and their aftermath can be important for anyone involved in the accident, even adjacent people. Like, he could just be someone who witnessed the accident which, in a lot of countries, means you legally need to stay until the cops talk to you and give you permission to leave. You are an essential witness. Many justifiable reasons for him to be filming.
Local news and other types of reporters are things, broadcast/media students, video freelancers, etc are all going to video/photograph these types of things. Had a class a year ago where we were required on our own to find a crime scene(probably a car crash) and photograph and report on it. He is legally allowed to record, especially from that distance being completely respectful. He's not in the crime scene or even up close showing people injured or anything. Looks like he is on a public sidewalk. Idk why you think that this is an inappropriate video for "discord". Media rights are important for many reasons, especially when he was being respectful and not disruptive. It's not a happy thing, but stuff like this is necessary for when other things happen too, like cops being terrible people, people threatening you(like the videos in this whole compilation), mass tragedies and wars that have to be reported on, and whatever else.
"im not driving, I'm traveling" will forever be the dumbest thing ive ever heard right next to it being common law to not have a license to drive a vehicle 🤣💀
It’s verbiage commonly used in the Sovereign Citizen movement. Their “traveling, not driving” BS is misinterpreted federal legislation. This clip was mild; the SovCit movement is _unhinged_ (and plenty of ‘em are genuinely dangerous).
15:00 Can you blame anyone for not wanting the trauma they're currently experiencing recorded by strangers? What if this involved our children? He had rights, but no integrity.
went to highschool school with the "woman of god"'s son... he was the biggest stoner and hated that his mother was a karen. she ran for school board and is a local political candidate. Has done some wild shit too lol
The dude was filming her grandchildren after an accident, clearly not a good dude. Karens could have just approached him and asked him nicely to stop and would have had the moral high ground.
People film accidents because it helps with insurance and who's at fault and stuff. It helps to have video of it. It's also a public area. He wasn't in the minors face or anything he didn't even know they were there.
They also had the moral high ground when confronting him emotionally, imagine a family member gets in a car crash and some bystander whips our a camera and films the aftermath just for his own entertainment? Lol like wtf? That's sick
Cody! I just ordered the chocolate sweatshirt 🤎 I love your videos so much. I love watching them to wind down, relax, kick back and just laugh along with you. Thanks for making me smile. 😊
The “unlicensed car” thing is crazy. During quarantine my license plates got stolen. Then my car got towed from my apartment complex because apparently you’re not allowed to have a car without plates parked literally anywhere. So then I had to get new plates, but during the pandemic the fucking DMV wait list was months long, and my car was going to be overdue for inspection. So I had to get an inspection first and they made a big deal about inspecting a car without plates. It was such a fucking hassle and I literally couldn’t drive my car or park it anywhere. Now you own your own property and still can’t have a car with no plates parked on your own property???!
20:25 that lady is a “sovereign citizen” and a those folks don’t think you need a driver’s license unless driving a commercial vehicle 😅 and that’s the lingo they all use too
The whole bus video reminded me of something that happened when I was in eighth grade. True story: I was on one of two buses for my DC trip and a turkey crashed into the other bus. Dude, glass shards were everywhere and the turkey was fully in the bus. I think glass even got into one of the teacher's eyes. The driver had to kick the turkey out of the bus, and the kids named him "Larry". We were stuck at a gas station in the middle of nowhere for nearly four hours before we could get a replacement bus. Wild.
18:42 I mean if some random guy was filming my children who just got into an accident I wouldn't be happy either . Not saying they should have reacted like that but I don't think they were Karens just because they didn't want this random guy filming their family . I know it's legal but I understand the frustration .
With regards to driving/travelling - this idea comes from about 300 years ago It used to be that farms often transferred their cattle between holding and grazing or took them to market. You could move the cows from one fired to another and, as you stood to gain financially from it so you were ‘travelling’ If, however, you transferred your cattle to market, in which you stood to gain from selling the cattle, then you were ‘driving’ (as in driving the herd) This ruling has never applied to anything away from farm work and predates the combustion engine so it’s a hell of a leap and I think those who have accosted it into their group have done so maliciously rather than from ignorance
14:28 I agree on their side. Like why is a stranger recording something tragic going on with someone else's family. It's kinda rude and disrespectful to them. Also not everyone wants to be recorded and that should be respected
Respected isn’t equivalent to illegal, I almost can guarantee the southern woman’s family caused that accident, and to prevent chances of insurance fraud or issues filing a claim the man is exercising his right to film in public, for his own safety, this is absolutely standard practice following car accidents, they can cry all they want, as the officer said there is no inherent right to privacy in public
When the wheelchair woman at 3:43 says "OH MY LEG" it reminds me of the sound byte of the old guy character from Happy Wheels when he gets injured and says the very same thing. look it up lol
That Karen in the car was so funny 😂 “common law” and “natural law” are real terms, but they don’t mean what she thinks they mean. “Common law” means unwritten rules that aren’t technically laws, but have significant precedent supported by numerous previous court cases; it is common practice to follow the precedent set by previous cases, even though there isn’t any one specific law about it. Common law partners, for instance, are a couple who is not legally married, but due to previous decisions made in court about next of kin or tax issues or whatever, they can be legally treated as if they are married, even though they are technically not. Generally, anything that falls under common law would technically be up to the discretion of a judge, and therefore there has to be a significant precedent set for the practice to be common in order for a judge to reasonably rule that something is ok. “Natural law” refers to those certain “inalienable, God-given rights” Thomas Jefferson rights about in the Declaration of Independence, meaning rights you have as a human being, regardless of citizenship, prison status, or anything else, that the government cannot take away from you. They include “life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness,” as well as the right to freedom of speech, assembly, and religion, the right to bear arms, the right to acquire, possess, and protect property, the right to suffrage, the right to bail, the right to a trial by jury, among other things (and even these have caveats, you have the right to freedom of speech, but you can’t just scream “Bomb!” Or “fire!” If there isn’t one, that’s not protected by freedom of speech; and you have the right to assembly and protest, but you don’t have the right to do so violently). These are rights that the American Government cannot deny you no matter what the circumstances are (unless you are a pow, in which case they will probably hold you in a military territory that is not on US soil, so they disregard those rights in secret). Either way, Natural Law definitely does not include the right to drive a car without a driver’s license. And there is also no legal precedent set that would support her argument that driving a car without a license would fall under common law. It’s really funny to me that she’s using actual legal terms with such confidence when they actually completely destroy her argument 😂
Cody, if you're looking for a rabbit hole to dive down for craziness, look further into the Sovereign Citizen thing that girl from 21:05 was using to try and get out of the traffic stop. Those people are nuts.

Unfortunately the girl driving who was saying "natural law, constitutional right, Im traveling" wasn't just making those terms up - she read them on Facebook. There's an entire "movement" about it. She's incredibly misinformed, but many people believe it with full conviction.

@@moeezScool. I'll have to check that out.

The family was committing insurance fraud and that's why he was filming it.

With regards to driving/travelling - this idea comes from about 300 years ago
It used to be that farms often transferred their cattle between holding and grazing or took them to market. You could move the cows from one fired to another and, as you stood to gain financially from it so you were ‘travelling’
If, however, you transferred your cattle to market, in which you stood to gain from selling the cattle, then you were ‘driving’ (as in driving the herd)
This ruling has never applied to anything away from farm work and predates the combustion engine so it’s a hell of a leap and I think those who have accosted it into their group have done so maliciously rather than from ignorance
The car crash one i can kinda understand, not in the way they did it but like..i wouldnt want my grandchildren filmed in a crash either...?
