My biology teacher in 8th grade made a visual presentation using glasses with colored water that stuck with me. Blue was A, Red was B, (mixed blue and red) Purple was AB, and Clear was O. Clear water "O" could be added to ANY glass on the table without changing their original color (O can be given to every blood type) The purple water "AB" could take, blue, red, or clear, without any issue, but adding purple water to the others would visually effect the original color (So if AB donor blood was given to an O recipient, it would be a disaster) granted none of this example much explained the Rh positives and negatives. But it was a nice learning aide for us youngsters.

You made this ssssoo easy to learn. Would you be my physiology instructor? Fresno City College or Madera Community College would be nice please bring this teaching style with you. Had a Chemistry instructor who taught the class as if everyone already knew the material and that's bad teaching. Rule of thumb- teach as if they've never seen the material before. The way you taught this a 5th grader could learn this so there's no reason a college student to fail.

I have O- blood. Years ago I had to have an operation and my blood group was listed as O+
I had one very unhappy surgeon when I pointed out my blood group was wrong on my chart. The nurse told me I was wrong I was definitely O+ and the hospital hadn’t made a mistake. I pointed out after having 3 children I was confident I knew my blood type. I heard a lot of shouting in the room my surgeon took everybody in 😳 my surgery was delayed whilst they checked my blood group. Yep I was right - definitely O-

You might have had circulating Anti-D from your Anti-D infusion in pregnancy - of course depending on when you last received this and your operation date. Your blood would show 0+, but the lab would be able to discern whether this was your true group or due to circulating anti-D. Good job you were vigilant with your medical team though

very well understood. If you can 'show blood type inheritance' for determining alleged parents it would be a favor to the 'closely adopted childs'. Example- 'parents of 0xAB can't have children of blood type......it would also give knowledge to 'normal biological children' in understanding this mechanism.
