normally I don't go into duel matchmaking, but I wanted to play a little against Centurion before I test the hero myself. I had the pleasure to meet Havok. Cent is only OK after the rework, but I have to play him a little bit more before I can make up my mind.

Faraam a wall splat still confirm the charged heavy
The charged heavy is still there, but they can dodge out before you can fully charge a jab now. To be fair though, Cent has so many options now that it would be unfair to let him keep that one lol

You can still get the fully charged jab pretty easily though. It's about as easy as getting a fully charged warden bash, or Warmonger scratch. It wouldn't have been balanced if they kept it though, since now that you can feint unblockable heavies, it's a lot easier to land them without getting parried.
@GhostOfAkina then try jabbing earlier into the charge more often, and feinting more often. It's all about conditioning your enemy into thinking you're gonna do one thing, and doing something else instead

On light parry, go for charged heavy, it’s 30 instead of 25, unless you want to chuck out another heavy

Nahh i think cent is goodd now, its just everyone doesnt really know how to play him since he has a way different play style now also havok never used the chain lights.
Imo there is no point at all chaining lights since 500ms is reactable
The point of the rework is not to spam lights tho

Top unblockable is the best, it comes out faster, the orange glow starts earlier, and you can delay it a fair amount.

It's funny because i was in a havok stream awhile ago and i suggested that he could beat a hito with orochi because Farram does all the time and he didn't like that and told me not to believe the 4v4 shit and followed up by saying he beats Farram in duels because Farram is not as good as it seems because it's only 4v4 he plays and he banned me from stream over it. And he just got his ass beat twice

Faraam, what do you think separates Warden from Hito and new Cent, seeing how their kits are "similar" (main bash tools are unaccessible from neutral)? What makes Cent and Hito worse than Warden in duels?
It's too long to explain in detail. Warden can shoulder bash out of a dodge. That means he can punish in a duel every move. He can punish wl headbash, lb shove, bp shield bash, conqs sb and and and. Cent and hito have to chain to get into their opener and it's not possible to do it after a dodge. Warden has no bad matchups while the rest have to deal with some unpunishable moves.
And yet they still nerfed hito instead of warden... I think ubi found a new shinobi/shugo

No, I just come back for streaming around august when the big combat update drops. I try to enjoy my extra free time
Ngl I think cent still need more work like I don’t think he gets anything from a fully charged heavy pin nor can you through people into walls and get the punch punish because of that kick combo he has after the gb and tbh I kinda just miss the cutscene because at this point you only get the punch from three scenarios One if you get a Perry and they hit a wall two if you get that max charged punish or you get a gb throw to the ground while out of stamina I feel like if he could do the punch out of neutral it would be more deadly because he can’t rly get into a combo if they block your lights so you are really just kicking into a light or heavy spamming and also I don’t feel like 40 damage is worth all that time personally I think that he should get something like a punch on pin and I think he should deal more like 50 damage to it is on par with his counter part hammer man from the Vikings not saying he needs to be op but in my opinion he didn’t need faintsble punchs he just needed faintable unblockables and fast forward speed and a faintable zone but that just my opinion leave a comment on what you think
Also side note he also don’t have a lot of out of Stam pressure because he has very few ways to get into the punch and he can’t do it out of neutral
And also I dislike how they took out the heavy after parry but that’s just me 🤷♂️
If you're cent is kicking after gb you're hitting the gb button too many times, punch feint is a great mix-up that forces a dodge (that's why they slowed it down) his enhanced heavies(combos can continue) chain into punch as well as his lights, his mix-ups are nice oos pressure, because kick and jab force a reaction. 42 dmg is fine for eagle not every thing has to be hammarr slam or shamans bite

It’s a higher punish than just throwing a light, and guarantees a fully charged punch of wall stagger
It chains into both, heavy isn't confirmed anymore and light is confirmed and branches into his jab mix-up so light or unblockable feint gb would be better

I fell off this game after the light attacks became super fast like right after warmonger is when I really quit, like I played every week since the game came out, last year I took a couple months off then back to every week like 4 days a week but I haven’t played more then 3 games of for Honor in the past 4 months it’s just not fun anymore
They could’ve kept his flash but reduced the rate, like one hit you flash then the other no flash. Cuz against a really good player who can dodge, parry, and can make reads on the punch to fully charged punch, Cent in my eyes got no pressure

I feel like Cent was nerfed with this rework. Maybe I dont understand his offense now though.
You have to apply a lot of pressure and read your opponent well to duel well with him. Learning when to feint jabs/unlockables is crucial.
Nerfed? He was arguably one of the worst characters and now he has viable offense. Hes gotta be A or B tier now

He's actually all about mixups now. You can feint both unblockable heavies and the jab, which can bait people into dodging for a gb, and you can jab out of a light too (which are also faster, along with Legion Kick.) The charge time for a fully charged jab is a little longer, but the end has armor, like warden's shoulder bash. Zone can also be target swapped and fainted, his dash attack has more range, and his forwards strafe is faster. All in all, it seems like Cent has been compleatly turned on his head. You gotta play aggressive with the tools you now have, and condition your opponent only to mindgame them.

quite funny to see this guy dueling you at the beginning. The only thing i know Faraam is a guy who showed winning or losing match. The other guy is always making video like if he was always winning. Definitly we saw here he is losing too.... i remembered him saying on toetmined stream he never lose...... here is a counterexample.....
