Those babies looked so young, like 1yr or less, and this video was taken 9 yrs ago. Where are they now. They would be about 10 yrs now. Have they had babies themselves, and how have they fared? Very interesting.

Okanda is 1 year old an Tano 6 months old in this video. Today, both are living together at Zoo Munich, so they do not have babys yet.

Sad I’m assuming those are gorilla orphans. Probably there mothers were killed so they can steal these lil guys

You're right that tey are gorilla orphans. But they were captive born at different zoos and their mothers died by disease, hadn't enough milk or didn't accept their babys or some other reasons their mothers weren't able to raise them up themselves. So keepers had to took them out of their family group and brought them to Wilhelma Zoo. They have much experience in hand raising gorillas, so all gorilla orphans come to Wilhelma Zoo to raise them up with gorillas have the same problems. So they live in a kindergarten there till they are old enough to live in a own family in another zoo.

@@QuiekerKanal That’s good you raise them around other Gorrilas. In Japan or Taiwan at one of those zoo’s there’s a full grown elder female that lives alone in her enclosure because she was raised by humans & now she’s scared of gorillas. I’m assuming she never interacted with her kind while being raised by humans.

@@cantoncardcollector1512 Its very helpful thay gorilla orphans raise up with other gorillas. Some of hand raised gorillas from Stuttgart zoo have their own babys now and they raise them up themselves. F. ex. "Kafi" in Dublin, named "Claudia" in Stuttgart, got her first baby 2 years ago and shes a very good mother! :-)
