    Guy films himself cutting brush out of a tree. Over and over and over. Year after year....And it never gets old. Why is that? I guess if it doesn't get old for you it isn't likely to get old for us watching... Compliments to you-all for the 2022

    Right on August, it's 0551 this morning, blowing fourty hells up here on the mountain, I got the coffee just right, fed the woodstove some dry maple( fast heat) and my brain got to go up the tree with you and Damien. I've got some big water oaks to cut for a friend this week. She lives down near the coast. They have been tortured by past hurricane's and have secret splits all over the place. That tip about the splitting limb opening the sling is right on time. I like that you are kind when you explain a lesson in the moment. Avoiding embarrassment of your friend while making sure he understands. I respect you. Smiling, George.

      @@alberttalbot9534 Once you have done climbing. You get comfortable doing it. Just never should you get lax in safety while doing it. I use to do tower work for the local ham radio guys. (60 to 100 ft level when I was younger) You must always double check each and every move etc. Now once you get up to 200 ft. That is when it gets iffy. 🙂 Take care - be safe

    This was such beautiful and peaceful work. It has a ballet aire like a Reg Coates job on a big Arbutus tree. With everyone moving from branch to branch with such grace it was so much fun to watch. I think the husky electric saw adds to that calm feeling.

    I’ll have to try that cut method on the next big white pine we do. They are notorious for splitting. Plunge cuts work on really big ones.. Norway spruce get big limbs too but are more fibrous and don’t split. I have had the sling get opened before as well. It’s one of those experiences that changes your behavior :-)

    Another excellent video. Damien, like August in his early tree climbing years, I to work for a company who hardly ever let's me climb. All that I've learned about climbing has come from trial and error and going up after all those long days at work. Practicing what I've taken away from Monkey Beaver and several other very talented and reputable arborist from around our planet. I suppose like August, I'll need to start my own small company to get the canopy time a man need's to be productive in a tree. When I get there, I hope I look half as cool as you Damien. I'm Very passionate about climbing. I often struggle with insomnia. It's difficult to make the mind be at ease when passions are not nourished or fed. Especially when existing in these troubled pandemic days.

    You remind me of the best boss I ever had. 4 of us guys had gone to "pick up" Chinese food for the office for lunch and we dropped off the order and went next door to the bar which was running a special of doubles for a dollar. Long story longer only one of us made it back. Then next morning we all came in and all our boss said was "It gets really quiet in here in the afternoon. If you're going to do that again let me know in advance". That was all he said and that was exactly enough. None of us ever did anything stupid like that again.

      @johnw4350 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SebKrause661 that could be true, I’ve never used one and I don’t know how long the batteries last. It could also depend on how much the bar oil dial is turned up. My 201t at the factory setting would only use a half a tank or maybe a little more per a tank of gas. Also there is a water bottle pouch he’s using in this video, you could fill a bottle with bar oil and put it in that pouch and have the other pouch with a battery. Then you’d never have to come down or send the saw down.

      @@johnw4350 it's definitely an option, climbers/fellers will use smaller containers (metal drink containers) for fuel and oil when working so not having to drag around larger containers. Great job guys beautiful work love watching the videos after work cutting all day climbing haha August I spoke with petzl about the rope I was telling you about the Scan deer they said maybe there's a coating on it that needs to be worked off a little bit for it to grab better does that sound right to you it doesn't slip much maybe a quarter of an inch but I love the rope

      @@AugustHunicke I cannot figure out for the life of me why it's slipping a little bit like I said it's maybe a quarter of an inch to a half inch and then it grabs but none of my other ropes do it I love that rope a lot man that's the best rope I ever used I think I got it because of your recommendation and it is well worth it I'll just keep using it and just be careful and see what happens thank you so much God bless you stay safe

    I saw a monster multi-head white pine across the street today at work while I was 120' up a Douglas fir that I was dead wooding wishing I was in the pine cutting it down. P.S. I did a bucket insert and was spurless climbing limb to limb in the fir...in the rain...3-4' between branches...

    I've had those husky saw "overheat" where the battery isnt dead but with big wood like this sometimes it kills it. It'll flash red like its dead but turning it on and off like you did helps. I'm sure yours was actually low battery in this situation but js. Also thank you for these videos! I learn a lot from them. I did my biggest pine removal today actually (going back tomorrow for neighboring) and I was thinking about part 1 of this. Also I'm in Ashland, OR and its the coolest thing that you're practically a local.
