Good information on printing envelopes with Libre Office. Nice workarounds for printers that can't do envelopes like Libre wants them. A little bit slow getting started. The printing info doesn't happen until about 6 minutes in! But, worth the wait.
Thanks for the instructions. I use HP printers also, and have never been able to print envelopes, it seems. Just got a new one, followed the directions for the printer (centered, like yours), but was disappointed to get a blank output even though I told LibreOffice how it was oriented. Maybe I'll figure it out, but I like your simple workaround and directions. My only complaint is your pronunciation of the Verdana font - there's only one 'd', so I'm pretty sure it's not "Verdanda". 😄
I'm glad it helped. You are correct about my pronunciation. That's what happens when your raised in Pennsylvania Dutch Land. You get an accent that is odd to a lot of other people. I've been struggling for many years to catch it before it happens, which than makes me stutter a-bit. But hey...you knew what I meant. 😂🤣😂🤣
Of course I am! Apparently you didn't watch the video where I tell the viewers about it. The LibreOffice envelope function does not work properly for all printers. My printer can only print envelopes in portrait mode and in the center of the printer. Even when setting the options in the LibreOffice "Insert - Envelope" dialog, the envelope will only print landscape. This is a bug in their software and I'm not the only one experiencing this bug. If you read back through the comments you will find that there a others having the same issues I was having. My method is work around for this bug.
Didn't work for me with my new HP printer, which is why I watched this. It has never worked for me (at least no on Linux), even though there's a setting that shows that orientation in the dialog. Just results in a blank page.
This method worked for me as I could never get "insert envelope" to yield satisfactory results (kept putting whitespace at the top of the envelope when it printed). The preview makes it appear the envelope is much wider (taller) than a #10 and, sure enough, it prints that way (?). This video would be much better if it was concise and stuck to the topic. Aso recommend doing some work to edit the video. For example, when a menus displays something you haven't used before, and not relevant to this topic, you mention it and say you haven't used. Edit that out.
I'm glad it helped. Also, what you might think is going off topic is actually very helpful for other people, especially those who are new to computers and to LibreOffice.
@@jtodora Understood but recommend putting the additional off topic and helpful information in its own video, or set of videos, so the videos can be more concise. LibreOffice can certainly use the "how to" info.
Really appreciate your kindness in helping us all grow and your patience in explaining how to print envelopes. God Bless and Happy Holidays
I'm glad it helped. Merry Christmas and God Bless you too. Remember the reason for this season.
I've been struggling with this issue for months. This is an excellent workaround that works well for me.
I'm so glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
This works great for me as I have fought this problem for a long time...Thank You So Much !!
Your very welcome. I'm glad it helped.

You're welcome. I'm glad it helped.
So, you ARE aware that LibreOffice has the standard envelope creation procedure in the menu INSERT / ENVELOPE, after setting the page size, right ?
