What question did Philip ask?
Not sure if he was referring to chapter 14 where Philip said show us the Father and we will believe.
Just curious? Did Pastor Begg ever change his position on attending and supporting the participants at a gay wedding? The last I heard he had recommended that we attend and support those who are involved in this activity.
He never made a blanket statement to all believers. He was speaking to a grandmother over a period of time that was having trouble with this dilemma. She had made it known that it goes against God's word to her granddaughter and she didn't approve but was feeling guilty about not attending. He suggested to her to talk it over with her husband and by going her granddaughter and her would still have a relationship. And no he never changed his stance. 🙏♥️🙏
@@mikemccormick9667 I won't judge her, nor can I avoid my own guilt of missing zeal, but we are told that if we will not hate our own family for Jesus, we are not able to be a disciple.
In response to Mike McCormick. I have listened to Alister Begg, John MacArthur, Steve Lawson and many others for the last 30 years. Personally, I agree with that advice. That’s exactly what I would do. If I were that grandmother. But here’s a couple of minor points. He made a point to get that information out there in the public. He could’ve kept it private. He wanted people to know that is his official position. Here’s the other point. I’m held to a much lower standard than pastors are. Spiritual leaders like Alistair Begg affect the way millions of people think and believe. He’s going to be held to a much higher standard. I think his closest friends would agree with everything I said, except for the part that I would do what the grandmother did.
In the day when the Israelites passed their children through the fires, may we assume that these were also Celebrations? " If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple." I cannot say the difference between Disciple and believer, I'll leave that to those who have parsed the words better.
@@Stumpy1234 I think you're confusing making Christ the number one love in your life with not loving your family at all.
@@mikemccormick9667 There are very few things in the human experience as life altering as an Oath of Marriage. Which am I to support, the idea of Perjury in Oath on behalf of the errant, or the idea of marriage between woman and woman so that they become one flesh and cling to each other as an Institution?

Now remember, I Paul love you, so I'll help you celebrate sinning against your own body, I'll bring gifts to the feasts where you pass your kids through the fires, because putting my foot down as the matriarch/patriarch is unachievable and would show that God HATES harm to humanity.
