My parish in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA had 2 of our pastors appointed Bishop within 6-12 months. One was appointed Bishop in Louisiana and last one to Florida. Our last priest who was appointed said he got a call from our Bishop notifying him that the Holy Father had appointed him Bishop to diocese in Florida. He was a young priest in his 50's, but he is a holy priest. So like Sr And FR said, no one knows how the appointment are done, except for those in the Holy See and the Holy Father.

One thing i want to make clear so there's no confusion, the Archbishop and the Bishop are rank the same status, they held the same office as the successors of the Apostles. The archbishop title it's because of the size of the diocese for this one its' Apia which is call the Metropolitan See. .... Another thing is, when the Bishop or the Archbishop died , that diocese enter the period of the Sede Vacante or the empty chair . Ia ua lava ga mea , sei uma koe kufakufa aku isi mea.
