Ah.... Memories from school turned up. And along with the lyrics of "Loch Lomond" the song "Molly Malone" came into my mind as well. (And "The Sick Note" 🙈. The Danish version too)
It always makes me chuckle hearing songs that have the same melody. The whole copying homework but putting a different name on it haha. Still a lovely tune though and a wonderful arrangement!
Right?? We're assuming since "Loch Lomond" is very much a Scottish anthem, someone thought "Hehehe watch me take this and make it IRISH." 😂
@@TheHoundTheFox it's actually quite a common practice in celtic trad. This originally took the form of a slow eire, and was then set to lyrics in different places for different purposes. It happens more often than people realise 😁

Beautiful! My late father used to play this tune on the piano. He would be turning 100 this year. Brought alot of memories flooding back when I used to sit beside him on the piano stool as he played and taught me alot of Irish music.
