20 as of May 2024 and I grew up listening to 70s/80s rock due to my parents who were born in 63 and 64. Ive always had a nostalgia for that time period just because of the mannerism of my parents and stories they tell me who were from that time. I definitely missed out, and no I’m not one of those self loathing types who hates everything about my generation. I just genuinely think I would’ve fit in the 70s/80s a lot more. Like, a hell of a lot more.
The way the song starts off so soft and sweet and then Robert just comes in full force with Bonzo and company right behind him! R.I.P mom always thinking of you when I hear that sweet opening!
I have no idea why I love this song so much. I listen to it non-stop for weeks on end, get sick of it, forget about it, then a couple months later I'm doing it all over again. Weird, gotta love it.
This song is one of their greatest, just tye whole atmosphere of tye song. It's like the song doesn't give you time to get some air and it just keeps going and going until you finally exit the rehearsal room and your back in the hallway where there's a soft sound that is rising. Beautiful.
It will, though. It's happened before. Look up Over the Hills and Far Away by J. Gay during George Washington's time. Then...look years back behind that version. You're on the right path, my friend! Let freedom ring!
